My own heart stopped when the machine stopped! Christ!

I got no skin to skin with ds, totally forgot about it and wasn't offered it. didn't realise until 2 weeks later when BFC suggested a babymoon and I realised I had never felt ds's skin against mine.

Had skin to skin with dd in recovery.

I was left to have skin to skin with DS2 for ages after my last section. He kept weeing on me as they hadn't put a nappy on.

Perhaps they said the equipment was faulty to keep her calm.

My DP didn't have time to get bored all 3 of mine were born in under 4hours. Was a huge shock when DS1 turned up 1hr 10 mins after 1st contraction!

I didn't get skin to skin with my section (which was yesterday btw!) because I couldn't move my arms very well to hold her so they laid her down next to me and I looked her in the face. Got lots of skin to skin about 30 mins later though :)

but electronic monitors often give innaccurate readings, maybe they will do a blood sample from the baby's head to check stress levels,

but will prob not and just go straight to emcs

It sounds to me that machine is working, but that big decels.

I was told "just in case" too but they knew I was having an emergency section. I am sure of it.
