Apparently it's not policy to do skin to skin in most theatres. My friend read something about 'natural' c sections that allow skin to skin, but they aren't done very often yet AFAIK

I never felt a thing except pressure with my c-sections but it looked as if she was in pain.

At the unit I work in Skin to Skin is really advocated. If Mum doesnt want skin to skin we offer it to Dad

I had skin to skin in mine. Bit of a faff IME, rather hard to hold a baby with one hand with tubes in the other. Only lasted a few mins as I thought I was going to drop DD.
