bit harsh...he doesnt like paper work , who does. Doesnt mean he is a bitch and a wanker....

expatinscotland · 04/03/2011 12:53

He's a wanker because he's full of himself, Sky.

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/03/2011 13:16

I think he's just talking himself up as he comes from a family of doctors

Iklboo · 04/03/2011 13:23

Paperwork is a fundamental part of being a doctor. You can actually get done by the GMC if it is poor.
A friend of ours who is a doctor told us this joke:

'What's the difference between God and a doctor? God doesn't think he's a doctor'

CrosswordAddict · 04/03/2011 16:26

I watch this on iplayer as it clashes with Silk.
I love the mix of characters and all the drama but it is scarey to think they are in charge of life-and-death situations.
Jon needs to think about losing some weight, doesn't he? A case of physician heal thyself?
The girl whose sister has cystic fibrosis seems too sensitive IMO. Maybe her motivation is just too caring? Maybe doctors need to have that detachment for their own protection?

Missymorrison87 · 05/03/2011 14:47

To be honest i havent met anyone since working at the hospital who loves paperwork, doctor or otherwise. We all bitch about it but it doesn't mean we think its beneath us Hmm

And it can completely bog you down as it is essential it gets done, along with all the other things that are essential.

It does my head in that she carries her handbag everywhere.

I would hate Adam to be my doctor, he is so arrogant, in fact I have had doctors like that.

Skifit · 07/03/2011 09:05

Maybe she really needs her hand bag. . .you know, , heavy periods that are here there and everywhere. If she has no pockets how is she meant to keep her tampons, personal phone, money/purse all safe? Seriously !
Adam's ok really.....he will simmer down by the time he is 40 and had a few females kick him to the curb a dozen times !!

expatinscotland · 07/03/2011 09:06

Jon gets sweaty all the time. He always looks on teh verge of a heart attack.

I heart the blonde gal, though. She's ace.

MsScarlett · 08/03/2011 16:03

I love it! I am a medical student about to enter my thrid year in September so it is giving me a taste of what's to come - I am 28 though.

They remind me of the other medics who are younger than me - they are young but have their head screwed on IYSWIM? More so than I did at that age anyway!

expatinscotland · 08/03/2011 16:21

If you know John, tell him to get his heart checked out, ditch the junk food and buy a bike to get some cardio in before it's too late. :o

MsScarlett · 08/03/2011 17:43

When I first saw him I thought the same, but to be fair to him he doesn't seem to have much trouble running around the wards/rugby pitch! He is probably actually fitter than a lot of skinny McDonalds guzzling twenty-somethings! He must eat A LOT to still be that big as he does actually seem quite sporty... Grin

And PS did you hear the chant his rugby mates were singing about him?

NorbertDentressangle · 08/03/2011 19:34

I've spent a fair few hours in hospital with DS this week (A&E and Trauma Clinic) and have found myself trying to spot the junior doctors and guessing what stage of their training they're at.

Saw quite a nervous young doc who looked about 12 very young taking blood (from an adult male patient) and really felt for him.

MrsChemist · 08/03/2011 21:15

Bone nibbler. Grim name.

VivaLeBeaver · 08/03/2011 21:42

I'm currently learning to sew periniums up. Looks just the same as sewing hands, maybe i could be a surgeon. Though my victims are awake and look worried by the fact I'm getting step by step instructions.

expatinscotland · 10/03/2011 20:49

John's too big for his age. I cringe watching him walk, poor soul.

I heart Susan and Kier.

tillytips · 11/03/2011 13:59

I thought Kier was fab with the little kids, very kind.
