but really worth watching! they all seem so young compared to the similar series of the 80s

DO you know roughly when it's on? Going to see if I can find it.

susanbanthony · 23/02/2011 09:26

I loved that '80s series. They did a follow up a few years ago which was really interesting.

MrsChemist · 23/02/2011 09:30

Oh, I wanted to watch this, I'll check it out later.

BrigitBigKnickers · 23/02/2011 09:32

Watched it on the i-player this morning. Compulsive viewing.

They all seem so young(but I am an old crumbly so most people under the age of 30 seem like teenagers.Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/02/2011 12:39

it's really good- I know I shall become addicted

EnSuiteShed · 23/02/2011 22:18

I saw this too - it's great - but I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch that sad bits

MrsChemist · 23/02/2011 23:07

Just watched it, it was great.

I've got a book called 'Trust Me I'm A Junior Doctor' which is like a diary of the first year in a hospital. It's very good, and very similar to the show.

sharbie · 24/02/2011 02:41

this was great wasn't it - chap who was telling everyone how smart he was when his dinner was on fire Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/02/2011 07:11

I know I shouldn't laugh, but the plump doctor running up the corridor...

sharbie · 24/02/2011 16:15

yh i was a bit concerned about his health at the end of that run Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/03/2011 15:24

yay- on tonight !!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/03/2011 16:14

DD aged 13 is watching this as at the mo she wants to go into medicine. Think this prog will give her plenty to think about!!!

littlemisslost · 01/03/2011 16:16

it was brilliant I really enjoyed it, cant understand why its on BBC3. what was the little poser like......think he gets his 'excitement' tonight lol judging by the clips

iskra · 01/03/2011 16:17

DP watched one episode with me & refused to watch any more. He's going to be a junior doctor in August, think he's dreading it!

littlemisslost · 01/03/2011 16:20

lol its a good introduction! and a true picture of what its like, he should watch it!

ScarlettWalking · 01/03/2011 16:21

The poser one moving in there quick with the blonde did you see that? Hehe

iskra · 01/03/2011 16:21

We have a lot of friends who are junior doctors, it certainly chimes with what they say about their experiences.

littlemisslost · 01/03/2011 16:23

yeah he is all over her lol but she is sweet, I wouoldnt trust him with anything lol

cherrychoo · 01/03/2011 16:28

Its dead good but i found myself shouting at the screen last week at the poser one..."well at least youve got a nice fucking shirt on you tosser"

I mean i shout at the telly when casualty/holby (what ever its called is on) and dh has to turn it off cos its utter shite and so far from real i get really mad.

Looks like its going to be good, i do get frustrated with the portrail of nurses but they are being quite complementary about them.
The big lad is funny.Smile

Highlander · 01/03/2011 19:38

it's been heavily edited.

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/03/2011 22:52

oh I do love Dr Jon lumbering up the corridors !
I went out with a junior doctor and he was mightily stressed and lost a ton of weight because of that and working so hard

I really have enjoyed watching it! Episode 2 where the female doctor (I can't remember her name) got teary after telling a patient she only had weeks to live made me start crying.
