Fuck, just seeing the forceps from the goal end made me realise why my fanjo hurt afterwards!
I likened it at the time to being calved like a prize cow.

ConvexBetty · 07/02/2011 21:58

Not stopped crying, yeah don't blame him.

babybear5 · 07/02/2011 21:58

easier????

BoffinMum · 07/02/2011 21:58

She'll have enough discomfort without pubes growing back

roadbackhome · 07/02/2011 21:58

DS2 was crying already when he was halfway out!

sheeplikessleep · 07/02/2011 21:58

but forceps were used this time, because of the heart condition. i thought they might have tried ventouse first, but maybe baby wasn't far enough down?

Imps7 · 07/02/2011 21:59

LOL BertieBotts I thought you were talking about actual giraffes there for a second!

BoffinMum · 07/02/2011 21:59

OMG WATER BIRTH! YAY!

oldme · 07/02/2011 21:59

awwww loved it- not to keen on those forceps though! Don't they bruise / distress the baby in any way?

girliefriend · 07/02/2011 21:59

I love obem

BoffinMum · 07/02/2011 22:00

Emotionally drained now ...

darleneconnor · 07/02/2011 22:00

ana- I had a friend who was induced for IUGR. She found it fine. i think those kind of inductions are much easier and less painful than overdates ones.

expatinscotland · 07/02/2011 22:00

'She'll have enough discomfort without pubes growing back'

If she's been waxing a long time, it can take a while for them to grow back.

I'd been waxing undercarriage for about 17 years when I had DD1, had forceps, no probs at all.

babybear5 · 07/02/2011 22:01

May leave some marks on face or head but they normally fade very quickly..They are generally very careful about where on the head they are put

darleneconnor · 07/02/2011 22:01

Babies quite often have scrathces and bruises from forceps. Sometimes they can even damage babies ears and eyes.

oldraver · 07/02/2011 22:01

I went from 2cm to BIRTH in under half an hour.... and we have Meptid at our hospital Grin

BunnyWunny · 07/02/2011 22:01

My poor dd looked like she'd been beaten up after her forceps delivery.. bruises all around her little face Sad

Heathcliffscathy · 07/02/2011 22:01

of course they do oldme, but in this case better than putting the mum's heart under strain...

expatinscotland · 07/02/2011 22:01

'Don't they bruise / distress the baby in any way?'

Mine was already in distress because she was OP with her hand up over her ear and stuck.

She had a scratch on one side of the face and a slight bruise on the other.

No other problems.

Gleeb · 07/02/2011 22:01

Now for Rocky Horror Glee rubs hands with excitement

Ladyface · 07/02/2011 22:02

Next weeks looks good:

Midwife:"Baby will be here in half an hour"
Lady in labour "I WANT IT NOW" Grin

No idea why I'm laughing really as this will be me in a few months....

sheeplikessleep · 07/02/2011 22:02

they've done every 'type' of birth now on the series haven't they? c-section, forceps, water, ventouse ... different positions ... they do show quite a variety, it's good.

darleneconnor · 07/02/2011 22:03

She's 31. I'd be quite Biscuit if she's been waxing for 17 years.

pigleychez · 07/02/2011 22:03

DD1 was forceps.
She was back to front and had shoulder dystosia so well and truely stuck. DH said the guy DR doing it looked like he was doing hard labour with the pulling!

Sher had a bruise on her cheek for a while and unsettled for a while, poor thing.

QuoththeRaven · 07/02/2011 22:03

ah DH just making me a cup of tea :) and over to glee :o bed then baby. See you all for next week. looks really good!
