MrsRhett As I understand it, its because they haven't had any permissions granted, their neighbours haven't had a chance to object to the permanent structure they build, they often park up their caravans close together and they pose a fire risk, they may be on land that is green-belt etc so not free for development etc etc etc

Its a case of why should the rules be bent for them, if everyone else has to abide by the building rules and regs. Plus they often dont own the land.

I could be wrong though, thats just my understanding from working with them.

quite often it's green belt land that is bought (round here certainly), upon which there's a presumption against development. All development, and particularly settlements of a hodge podge of different houses/statics/caravans. No infrastructure and so on.

Of course they are filming the extremes because that is what people want. They want to sit in their homes mocking people, even children.
