sorry have to say it GET UP AND MOVE

MumInBeds · 24/01/2011 21:11

Looks like the theme this week is 'you can't control labour and birth'.

Shallishanti · 24/01/2011 21:11

was prob a pressie

BellaMagnificat · 24/01/2011 21:11

But he may redeem himself let's see

Wilts · 24/01/2011 21:12

Nowt wrong with Swindon ladies Wink

Another teapot fan here.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 24/01/2011 21:12

All the men are going to piss us off tonight, aren't they?

expatinscotland · 24/01/2011 21:12

He's really trying to help her.

KangarooCaught · 24/01/2011 21:12

Ds born blue - dh said it was one of his worst moments when they whisked him away, not saying a word.

RespectTheDoughnut · 24/01/2011 21:12

This guy seems nice. Like he's actually aware & supportive of the birth plan!

LADYBOAK · 24/01/2011 21:12

I hate Julia's husband, he seems like a cock.

Hopelesslydisorganised · 24/01/2011 21:12

I delivered one or two in cars as a MW lol.
Love the receptionist - she's supposed to be lovely but of course they just edit in her eating/drinking tea/doing make up lol

DirtyMartini · 24/01/2011 21:12

Dammit, I missed it again, why is she so worried about losing control, is there a specific reason?

I must pay more attention and not get distracted by making rude remarks about teapots

PrincessBoo · 24/01/2011 21:12

Maybe the teapot was a pressie from a grateful parent?

bupcakesandcunting · 24/01/2011 21:13

Ahhhh the birthpool dad is lovely, very reassuring to have a DH like that about at the crucial time, I would imagine!

clayre · 24/01/2011 21:13

Lol at loving the teapot! I feel for the men, they obviously don't have a clue what to do and are scared!

WillieWaggledagger · 24/01/2011 21:13

i think that teapot was for GOSH benefit possibly?

practicallyimperfect · 24/01/2011 21:13

I think he's lovely. My dh sat in corner and read the paper for most of it. Although to be fair it must be quite boring. I was getting bored towards the end of my own labour (had been going on a few days without moving forward)

Hopelesslydisorganised · 24/01/2011 21:14

I am ALWAYS shouting "let the poor woman get up and move around".

petitdonkey · 24/01/2011 21:14

Lol dirty - obviously I don't want one in my oh-so-modern kitchen but I sometimes like to indulge a thatched cottage fantasy with loads of friends who want tea rather than booze [bwink]

tigerbear · 24/01/2011 21:14

That Donna looks really familliar, I thought she was on the Christmas episodes....

changer22 · 24/01/2011 21:14

I'm sure the MWs would prefer a teapot than chocolates or flowers.

NonnoMum · 24/01/2011 21:14

No! Birth Pool Daddy seems to be a non-knob. V supportive.

expatinscotland · 24/01/2011 21:15

'why is she so worried about losing control, is there a specific reason?'

Well, for me it's because it really fucking hurt and the body and brain just didn't want to go there.

For some it's fight or flight and the flight factor kicks in.

Fairly natural response not to want to 'lose control' when it hurts like that.

jojosmaman · 24/01/2011 21:15

What a knowledgable fella! My oh would not know an episiotomy if it him in the face.. Oh.. Ew.

MrsChemist · 24/01/2011 21:15

I think if you know you're going to panic, having a DH who knows the situation and can fight your corner is exactly what you need.
