Eastenders Baby Death Storyline

Once again, no one can live happily ever after Sad

Ronnie's baby James, dies and she puts his body in Kat and Alfies son's crib, and steals their baby boy, Tommy.

Why oh why oh why do scriptwriters insist on portraying bereaved parents - mothers especially - as mad and deranged??? Maybe it's because they can't begin to imagine how awful the death of a child is, but really, whilst we are mad with grief, it is our own child that we want back, not someone else's stolen child. When are scriptwriters ever going to understand that?

Still, it'll be a riveting watch, no doubt.

Did they not show Kat carrying the coffin then?

They'll have my crutches round their heads too!

HereMeRoar · 11/01/2011 21:56

No, they didn't Mouse. That picture of her and alfie sitting down with Kat holding the coffin didn't feature. In the spoilers it was Kat and Alfie talking, but in the episode it was Jean and alfie. Jean's reading took up a lot of time and was over the top of Ronnie pictured standing by the grave, but Ronnie said nothing at all. Kat was not shown breaking down by the grave as per the spoilers either.

Mouseface · 11/01/2011 21:58

Well, either the spoilers were wrong or the writers have changed the billed episode for tonight.

I hope it's the latter and that this is the start of the end. Hmm

PotPourri · 11/01/2011 22:01

Right, found out. Apparently up in Scotland there was footie last night, so all pushed out a day. weird. They love their footie up there!

OracleInaCoracle · 11/01/2011 22:02

theres a real stink being kicked up on DS about it, apparently "powerful" and "vital" scenes were missing and its a travesty of international proportions that the story is ending early because a few sensitive souls are upset.

twonks.

Mouseface · 11/01/2011 22:04

lissie - they'll be over here in a minute shouting the odds again no doubt.

CazandBelle · 11/01/2011 22:06

lissielou its just as well I'm not on DS, because I'm feeling particularly low tonight and I'm in the mood to rip someones head off. Twonks is far too polite for the things they've said. Gladly send one to my house, I'll show them all I have left of my dead daughter, how I survive each day (today being not a great one) and see how sensitive I am then.

Newgolddream · 11/01/2011 22:14

Its not a good day all round for the BBC as they have just been found guilty of age discrimination for sacking a Country file presenter.

OracleInaCoracle · 11/01/2011 22:17

Aww Caz, you know where we all are if you need someone to talk to.

Thanks for the laugh hot. You know, you can hardly tell people to shut up (which is what you've pretty much done) as an argument for free speech.

FooffyShmoofer · 12/01/2011 11:33

Hi Brave ladies.

Caz, I hope you are having a better morning.

Poorlies - Hope you're feeling better.
