What CBeebies (or other children's programmes) do you miss either because your DC have grown up or because they are not on anymore?

Was just sat here fondly remembering when I used to watch 'Story Makers' with DS1 when he was little and it was shown in the bedtime hour on CBeebies - we used to cuddle onto the sofa and watch it and twas lovely.

I quite miss Story Makers....Ben 10 is just not the same Wink

I used to love Playdays! Although I did have a bit of an issue with that Peggy Patch! She was unbelievably stuck up and condesending! Grin

Mr Jolly and the Roundabout stop was wicked though!

TidyBush · 20/10/2010 23:43

Nobody's mentioned the Come Outside episode about carton drinks.

"fruit juice, fruit juice
drink it through a straw
it's cool in a carton
would you like to see (taste?) some more?"

ellensmelons · 21/10/2010 07:41

Anyone want to start a campaign to create a channel called Cbeebies Gold?? It wouldn't cost them much!

MajesticScallop · 21/10/2010 08:18

Just watched "Useful Holes" on Youtube. Loving the ending - "Oh, Pippin!! You saved my life!!! Let's have a cup of tea!!!!"

That's what life should be like.

And, blimey, what a goodly portion of chips! I think I'm warming to her.

pinkjello · 21/10/2010 11:37

Ellens, I'd vote for CBeebies Gold if it showed the old Postman Pat with Peter Fogg and Miss Hubble. I still remember Pat's Foggy Day and Sam who used to sell things out the back of his van.

Valpolicella DD is 5 and very much still a fan of CBeebies. DS is 7 next month and still pretty keen tbh. Although rather more CBBC is getting watched now (most of it is Shaun the Sheep though which I feel would be fine on CBeebies :))

nomorecake · 22/10/2010 17:07

i was going to say the juice one.

and the weeds one, i think its the one where she takes a camcorder the size of a suitcase with her to the city.

in the pencils one, she goes to WHsmiths, in the background is a folder set i bought when i started secondary school about 22 Shock years ago!

CalmCalmCalm · 22/10/2010 23:04

Did anyone say the soap one yet? Love the five dirty monkeys song.

I, too, miss Storymakers and Blue Cow. It was a favourite with DD1, now 5, and I feel DD2 is missing out.

I also miss the Rubberdubbers more than a grown woman should. Splish, splash, splosh.

Panzee · 23/10/2010 09:35

I am home alone this morning. When I woke up I put the TV on and watched Timmy Time before getting up [hblush]

tillywee · 27/10/2010 16:56

Lol panzee...I like to watch yo gabba gabba when i'm on my own, i'm such a saddo

Panzee · 27/10/2010 20:42

Hold stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillll........wiggle wiggle wiggle, wiggle wiggle wiggle...

And I had forgotten about The Shiny Show!! Grin

FooffyShmoofer · 28/10/2010 13:33

I miss The Shiny Show, Story Makers, and Bill and Ben narrated by John Thompson. DCs still listen to Flobbadance on CD.

MrsTittleMouse · 28/10/2010 13:43

Another big fan here of Hugo Monkey's Funky Jungle Conga. :)

marmon · 29/10/2010 18:31

I bumped into Linda Baron the other day in my local theatre, she played Aunt Mabel and i asked her about Come Outside and Pippin the dog, and she said the dog is still alive and was an absolute joy to work with.Sweet.

Jbck · 31/10/2010 00:17

I would always watch Yoho Ahoy if no one else was in.

Loved the Goodbye song in Bear in the Big Blue House and would watch it if I flicked over and it was on.

DD2 (almost 3) has discovered Blalmory after I thought it had long since departed our screens. I hated it when DD1 was little but it's a guaranteed 15 minutes peace.

SuePurblybiltByElves · 26/11/2010 13:41

I am bumping this because a new series (new as in they've been flogging the last series for months, this is a different series)of Come Outside with Aunty Label is on Cbeebies now. In fact I am currently watching "Useful Holes" and the humping badgers. Bracing myself for the chip pan fire.
Distraught to have missed the turd chasing one as I was working on Wednesday.
Anyway, worth a watch Smile

foxter · 26/11/2010 17:30

I miss Doodle Doo, I loved the Welsh guys accent. Can't believe I can't remember his name now, was it Chris?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 26/11/2010 17:40

Panzee - yes I quite agree, and I am rather partial to lightly poached baby bird foetuses myself Grin

DS is still into Cbeebies, but then DSS(now 9) was into it we loved watchind Yoho Ahoy, loved that!
And Blue Cow from story makers!

domesticsluttery · 26/11/2010 17:49

I miss Tikkabbilla. When DS1 was little it used to be presented by Justin and Sarah Jane, before Justin became so famous Grin

"Tikkabilla, Tokkabilla, Tikkabilla, Toc, What's the time on the Tikkabilla clock?"

Also loved Blue Cow. DS1 always thought that she caught the same bus as his Grandma!

5GoldenFimbos · 26/11/2010 17:52

Dd was about 2/3 when the Tweenies came out. My mum and dad looked after her whilst I worked, when I went to collect her should would be jumping up and down in front of the tv wiggling her arms. I would say hello and she would wave her arm behind her back at me without actually turning round. Ahh memories.

tinselthechaffinch · 26/11/2010 18:50

You know those dvd box sets you can get?

They should get a dvd box set for the entire series of 'Come Outside'

I'd certainly pay good an inordinate amount of money for it.

PortlyBlackSantaUpTheChimney · 26/11/2010 18:58

None - i mean it - absolutely none. why would i want Chris Jarvis when i can have Sam and Mark? and when your DCs reach a certain age you realise that you were right all along....85% of Children's Telly is condescending shit.

PortlyBlackSantaUpTheChimney · 26/11/2010 19:01

And most program designers think young = stupid.
