Starts on Saturday!!
I can't find any contestant rumours other than Goldie, does anyone know of any?
Is Alesha back? can only find articles about her not signed contract yet.
No results show apparantly and new format for voting, can't wait - Winter is here.

What about those 2 new blokes? Quite like the young American one, and the Russian (?) one seems ok but really taken against that other one - Robin is it? Seems rather too pleased with himself and full of himself, ugh.

Looking forward to it now, and yy re Felicity Kendal, she always has looked utterly stunning and not less so now.

dds comment re AW: 'I don't really think she'll go very far, do you mum?' Grin good sport though.

madhairday · 12/09/2010 09:58

That should, of course, be three new blokes

MrsKitty · 12/09/2010 10:15

Exactly HRHCavey - She was very "Look at meeee, look at meee" last year and didn't get into the spirit of the show at all. Hopefully she'll 'get it' a bit more this year Hmm .

TigersChick · 12/09/2010 14:50

Last year's serise passed me by in a bit of a blur and I really missed watching it ... tho it means that I'm coming to a lot of these dancers new - don't know the 'stroppy ginger one' yet ... but I'm really going to miss Lilia and Darren in particular Sad

I really wanted the partnerships to be drawn by lots this year - like the football Grin
That would have made it much more interesting - and a lot fairer. What's the point of just telling them what some agents have hammered out in the contracts??

All the same ... am really looking forward to the serise - I've heard of more than half the celebs this year which is a bonus Grin

jsgirl · 12/09/2010 15:48

Madhairday - I've said what you've said about the new men but on another Strictly thread on here!

Think Jimi Mistry might do quite well. Mind you, last year I said I thought Joe Calzaghe would do well and he was, for example, crap.

I'm hoping Patsy Kensit was overdoing the pouting through nerves and she's not going to do that all the time.

Can't comment much more as I watched a lot of the group dance through my fingers!

CappuccinoCarrie · 12/09/2010 16:34

It looks like anyone who did well last year has been paired with someone who's likely not to go the distance this year.
Also disappointed by Matt&Aliona, she's gonna have to do some special choreography to win people round after the hash she made of it last year.
Poor anton, will they ever give him someone he could actually do well with?!
Was v impressed at James Jorden's apparent enthusiasm for his partner. And my goodness isn't Gavin nervous?
Can't wait three weeks!!!!

CappuccinoCarrie · 12/09/2010 16:36

And I bet Tina and Jared are dating before the series is over!
Secretly hoping Paul Daniels produces bunches of flowers out of his sleeve for his partner Blush

iwouldgoouttonight · 12/09/2010 22:23

Had the celebrities and pros not supposed to have known which partner they were getting until the night? How come they all ended up with the right partner at the end of the group dance which they had been rehearsing in the week?

And why isn't Brian in it???

TigersChick · 13/09/2010 08:05

iwouldgoouttonight - There was a good deal of rushing about to get to the right person ... Jared came sliding in from a fair distance away to get next to Tina in time for the last shot.

LIZS · 13/09/2010 08:46

Poor old Anton, bet he saw that coming ! Thoguth it would have been more amusing for AW to have Vincent .

Liv77 · 13/09/2010 20:36

Verdict on the new blokes
American - Looks like it's past his bedtime, but can see he'll appeal to the tweenies.
Russian - Ok, apart from those very scary white teeth
The other one - can't stand him, obviously thinks he's god's gift

i honestly can't remember much about the new girls

I miss the old dancers Sad

Hope Paul Daniels leaves as soon as possible, I don't know if i can bear to watch him and Brucie. It's almost enough to make me watch the X Factor. Thank god for Sky+ at least I can wind the crap bits forward.

moragbellingham · 13/09/2010 20:39

Not too keen on Robin either - he reminded me of Louis Spence for some reason.

Liv77 · 13/09/2010 20:44

You're right morag. Maybe he is Louie in disguise, I knew he reminded me of someone too. I think from now on we should all refer to Robin as Louie. Out of interest does anyone actually like him?

HRHCavey · 14/09/2010 07:19

Being a pro dancer means they have to project so much self-confidence (to get noticed on a competition floor full of other dancers) that they often come across as arrogant/self-involved.

Look at the likes of Brendan Cole and James Jordan, who both have a "bad boy" reputation.

pourmeanotherglass · 14/09/2010 09:55

Does anyone who watches with their kids wish they'd tone down the smutty banter, just a little - Little girls all watch it cos they love they dresses and the dancing, but Brucie really makes me cringe sometimes.

mmmperuna · 14/09/2010 16:41

Yes pourmeanotherglass - I do find some of it a bit much for the DC.

And looks like Tess is going to be all over Gavin Henson asking him to show off his "guns" Hmm although i actually quite like it when they do show off their muscles

BeccaandEvie · 15/09/2010 17:09

I love this show so much - I hope Pamela is good as I loved James last year.

Actually I thought Matt and Aliona were quite well matched. Rav was crap though last year so not really her fault, but maybe she will think about better choreography to hide the dodgy work (like Ola did and will do this year).

Looking forward to Felicity, Matt and Pamela.

I really liked Artem :o

just watched it on iplayer.

Felicity K looks like she's had a recent face lift. She looks much tauter than some of the shots they had of her in recent years.

Anne W could have made a bit more of an effort! I suppose she's trying to "do a John Sargent". The difference is that John S had a very endearing personality. I've actually got some respect for her, even if I don't agree with her political views, but she's hardly going to be the nation's darling like John was.

Clayhead · 16/09/2010 12:17

I really liked Artem too Grin

Trouble is, ds's best mate is called Artem and it's the only time I've heard the name so it feels a bit wrong Blush Smile

Animation · 16/09/2010 13:04

I went on the BBC Stictly Come Dancing forums last year. There is no forum this year which is disappointing in one way, but not in others because it didn't half lay into Alesha and Brucie. There were no need for it - it just got too nasty.

Great show though - love it!!

Seabright · 16/09/2010 13:18

I wonder if Anton got Ann because she'll be out very quickly (she hasn't got the charisma to "do a John Sargent" IMHO) so he can do more presenting, with a view to him taking over from Bruce?

It's on tonight! Tonight, tonight, tonight Grin

Seasider · 01/10/2010 17:04

I am so glad to find this thread! Am so excited and yet again put in for actual show tickets.

Please let Paul Daniels not speak, as we know Patsy can't move her face so will be hard to see what she is trying to emote...

Otherwise bring it on!
