For those that love Mistresses as much as me, I have just read in the latest Glamour mag that Mistresses is back on our tv screens early next month! Fabulous!

OP posts:
tegan · 06/08/2010 20:25

i think i may of got a little carried away but i have been pondering on how the storylines could twist all day

fruitstick · 06/08/2010 20:33

I reckon something will emerge about Katie and her dad too. Lumleys you were do happy together speech must be leading somewhere.

BelleDameSansMerci · 06/08/2010 20:48

Can anyone explain why Jess doesn't go back to work if they're short of cash? I know she's trying to conceive but that doesn't prevent most of the population from working. Didn't she have a pretty successful career previously?

SixtyFootDoll · 06/08/2010 20:57

I have the same kettle as Siobhan.

I thought she and her husband were going to stay together at the end of the last sereis and bring up the child as their own, or was that the sereies before and I missed one?

Loujalou · 07/08/2010 09:56

Nope Sixty you have missed a series. Hari left her as in the last series she put it out a lot (to put it mildly).

If I was married to Hari I would definitely stay faithful as he was lush.

domesticsluttery · 07/08/2010 10:08

When Jess first got married he didn't want her to work did he? As he was going to be the big provider Hmm which has clearly gone pear shaped now and he is too proud to tell her how badly.

It wouldn't suprise me if they all end up alone, I think the pep talk that Katie gave Trudy and Richard's girls must have been leading somewhere (friends being more important than men).

I think that Trudy and the investor will have an affair. Richard will turn to Katie, but for once she will have the scruples to say no.

I think that Mark and Siobhan might also have an affair, maybe when she lends him the money for IVF. Maybe she even gets pregnant? That would explain the animosity between her and Jess at the beginning.

Maybe Katie's dad wasn't her real dad? Maybe her mum had an affair and that is why she is so judgemental of Katie?

Or maybe I'm thinking too hard about this... Grin

love this thread how even on saturday your all still reeling it over in your head Grin

just watched it myself on iplayer as i watch the first few mins on thursday then the phone rang so turned it off so i could be totally focued on it Grin

stressheaderic · 07/08/2010 20:46

Just watched it on Sky+ with a large glass of wine, have been waiting since Thursday.

Great stuff, slow-burning but you can see it brimming already. Love their clothes and homes, even if tis all styled and managed and far from real.

Oh, and, Orla Brady = still bloody gorgeous.

ItalyLovingMummy · 08/08/2010 12:02

I can't believe Orla Brady is 49, she is stunning! I think Jess works, as she supports Mark, but we didn't see alot of them in their workplace in this first episode, apart from Trudie and 2mins of Katie in her office. I hope Siobhan gets together with Dom, it was clear that even when they had an affair in series 1 that he was in love with her and she obviously does like him too. DH actually likes watching this with me, although I think he likes Shelley Conn which helps, LoL, she is rather gorgeous.

Snowstorm · 08/08/2010 13:25

Still can't get over that child who was having her birthday party. Not only did she look like a 5 year old but she was supposed to have only just turned 3 .... Don't think the casting people put a great deal of thought and effort into that child part Smile.

Spinaroo · 08/08/2010 22:36

She actually is 3 Grin- I read an interview with Orla Brady

Oblomov · 08/08/2010 22:54

Dh said it had been slated in the press. why ? it is getting weaker and weaker, i think.

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 08/08/2010 23:01

oral brady was on something this morning even said herself that this had to be the last series as the title in itself was so limiting, with them reverting to type, etc. she said it might only be a matter of time before it resembled the Thornbirds and her character started to fancy a priest!

I kind of like the way we're seeing through them all now and they're not being painted in so glamorous a light: they are all clearly quite big fuck-ups. although lol and totally agree about the soft-focus lens for each of the 4 main characters. reminiscent of the one Sue-ellen used to get in dallas.

(I still predict a death next week, despite no-one else agreeing with my last post!)

Oblomov · 08/08/2010 23:04

the blonde haired prat who jess used to work with. he was well funny. she should go back to work, just for him !!

Oblomov · 08/08/2010 23:05

one of sue, the fact that they were all serious fucks ups, especially gp parish was evident from the start, no ?

fruitstick · 08/08/2010 23:11

Oi Suzy. I said it first! Something awful will happen to Richard I reckon.

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 08/08/2010 23:13

i guess so, but I think they were painted as much more 'likeable' at first, even though that meant they were mostly just really annoying. A bit like we're sposed to like Susan out of Desperate housewives because she's kooky and quirky (yak)

This series we're being openly encouraged to dislike them I think.

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 08/08/2010 23:14

ooo sincere apols, fruity. agree, will be richard.

Poor old thingy (blonde cake-maker) doesn't have much luck with her 1st dh leaving her a widow, even though it was only a for a while!

kittya · 08/08/2010 23:21

the blonde annoys the hell out of me!! I dont like Richard either. Still addictive telly though. Im not convinced Joanna has slotted in well, I think shes too good for it.

Snowstorm · 09/08/2010 07:26

Spinaroo ... am gobsmacked!

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/08/2010 15:51

I don't like the character of Richard but I find him strangely attractive in this and all his other tv stuff Blush

I do have the most terrible taste in men though!

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 09/08/2010 15:54

I don't like him in this but I did like him in his white suit doing Saturday Night Fever in The Office Grin

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/08/2010 18:18

LOL! Me too... Grin

Conundrumish · 12/08/2010 19:48

Watched episode one last night (down loaded) and so excited about episode two (is it tonight?).

Love this series. Can anyone remind me what happened with Sarah Parish at the end? I know she had the young dr boyfriend and went off with his friend/her friend's husband. They got found out at the end didn't they? I thought the last scene was of them moving in together or something.

Conundrumish · 12/08/2010 20:29

Forgot to say:

I thought Sarah Parish's performance was amazing considering she has lost a child since they lsst filmed [:-(]

Siobhan looks amazing too - isn't she nearly 50 (eek?)
