Pretty please save me from monopoly!!

Do you know of any fun family board games we could play and all enjoy? Dd and ds nearly 15 and eldest dd nearly 20.

Nothing that will electrocute me please 😂 - or taste horrible on that note…

Thanks

Another recommendation for Ticket to Ride. We all enjoy Rummicub as it's easy to learn and a good mix of strategy and luck. A game takes about twenty minutes.

Tryingnottobeamouse · 13/11/2025 19:29

Ticket to ride, articulate, Pandemic are all very good

Zooeyzebra · 13/11/2025 19:30

Risk

Neurodiversitydoctor · 13/11/2025 19:31

Scotland yard
Secret Hitler
Cluedo

Zooeyzebra · 13/11/2025 19:31

what do you meme is also fun

TheCommonWoMan · 13/11/2025 19:35

Camel Up

Hello39 · 13/11/2025 19:35

Settlers of Catan

Foreverexhausted1 · 13/11/2025 19:36

Uno ( I know it's not a board game but it's good fun!)
Qwirkle is a fave here
Risk
Catan

twinklelake · 13/11/2025 19:39

Game of life

TragicMuse · 13/11/2025 19:40

Another vote for qwirkle! There are a few variations, we have the cubes one.

Screamingabdabz · 13/11/2025 19:41

Thank God no one has recommended the mysteriously popular ‘Exploding Kittens’ which is a load of old shite. Our favourite one lately has been Scrawl - basically Chinese whispers meets Pictionary. It’s really fun.

Mandarinaduck · 13/11/2025 19:44

Time's Up (kind of like a version of charades)
Sushi Go is a favourite at our house
Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is a card not board game but very fun

Hatty65 · 13/11/2025 19:44

Quirkle or Ingenious

ReignOfError · 13/11/2025 19:45

Articulate.
Bananagrams with only rude words (or even the proper game)

LemonVerbenaGeranium · 13/11/2025 20:00

Cascadia is our favourite at the moment. It’s strategic but also not too long, unlike some of the other similar options. We also like Catan, Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne

Shangrilalala · 13/11/2025 20:03

Dumb questions to ask your friends - more of a card/discussion game but perfect for your age range. We love it.

whirlyhead · 13/11/2025 20:11

Cards against humanity which is quite filthy, but I’ve played it with 3 generations of family and it was funny - even the 75 year old was in stitches.

there is now a family friendly version for 8 years and above so should be safe.

Bonsaibaby · 13/11/2025 20:15

we Like the interactive talking ones like code names, articulate, absolute balderdash, what do you meme, don’t get got is good for an evening, also parlour games like mafia, who am I, charades etc.

for more serious, ticket to ride, cluedo, azul, card games

Lifeispeacefulthere · 13/11/2025 20:15

Chameleon ia good. My lot did not enjoy the Taco Cat Goat Cheese game at all but the family we played with thought it was great.

CypressGrove · 13/11/2025 20:19

Are you looking for a funeral Light hearted game - like what do you meme, articulate - where people can wander off for a round if need be? Or something more serious like catsn or ticket to ride.

For a Christmas group id go with the first category. Blank Slate is also fun.

HelenHywater · 13/11/2025 20:21

Also think about 7 Wonders - mine love that (It's a bit of a mystery to me!) and we have all the extension packs now

And telestrations and mafia too. @LemonVerbenaGeranium I haven't heard of Cascadia, but we like all of those other games you mention I might try it.

ThankYouNigel · 13/11/2025 20:21

Ticket to Ride
Linkee
Articulate
Code Names
Bananagrams
Monopoly Deal (absolutely addictive card game- wayyy quicker than the board game!)
