That's it really. He's under 18 and has a fucking tattoo on his wrist.

I'm devastated. I know they're very fashionable but that's not the point. If we'd discussed it I'd have obviously made sure he waited until he was 18. The legal age!! I'd suggested he put it somewhere it couldn't be seen with a shirt on.

As it is he won't be able to do the career he wants with a fucking tattoo on his wrist.

I know MNet will jump down my throat but I'm devastated.

We're booked for consultation to get it laser removed but fuck knows how I'm going to afford it,

His girlfriend has dumped him over it and he really regrets getting it done.

I'm just posting here to moan really, can't stop crying. Stupid stupid little boy.

What is it of? If it’s a small, discreet one can he hide it under a watch or his cuff?

Classica · 28/08/2021 15:43

Deep breaths. Not ideal getting a spur of the moment tattoo but not worth getting yourself in a state over. It's fixable.

What was his intended career?

jellybe · 28/08/2021 15:45

What career does he want to do?
What is the tattoo?
How big is it?

Breath. This isn't ideal but doesn't have to be the end of the world. Just make sure you keep an eye on it for infection as I'm guessing the place he had it done wasn't the most reputable.

SunbathingDragon · 28/08/2021 15:45

I think he should be working to pay for the removal sessions.

aaaaah · 28/08/2021 15:45

What's the career and is it a small tattoo? Is it an inappropriate tattoo? I'm surprised his girlfriend left him over it.

There is a good foundation called Dermablend he might be able to cover it with?

NerrSnerr · 28/08/2021 15:46

What's his intended career?

AlmostSummer21 · 28/08/2021 15:46

How old is he?

What is it of?

Is it well done?

Why did his GC dump him over it?

Can it not go under a wrist of a top./a watch?

What's the legal age where he had it done?

Who was he with?

Hellocatshome · 28/08/2021 15:46

What career bans tattoos these days? Unless its a huge thing with lots of dark shading he should be able to get it removed easily enough especially as its new. Look for local tattoo removal specialists.

SquirryTheSquirrel · 28/08/2021 15:46

Are you sure it will affect his career? Tattoos are so very popular at the moment, I don't think people really notice them in the same way they might have a decade or more ago.

mistermagpie · 28/08/2021 15:46

What was the career and what is the tattoo? Some places are more flexible now - my ex DH was a police officer, he had very visible tattoos and was worried about it being a problem when he joined, but they weren't bothered at all.

I hate tattoos but it's done now, is he nearly 18 or younger?

ElspethFlashman · 28/08/2021 15:47

OK calm down.

And it's not a career ender unless it's on his hand. Wrists can be covered by clothes.

Yes he was stupid, but it's not the end of the world.

kitkatsky · 28/08/2021 15:47

It's his mistake to sort out. Don't you dare pay for the removal!

HereticFanjo · 28/08/2021 15:48

Unless it's saying I love UKIP in dark ink I don't see what the problem is? As for the gf dumping him is it another girl's name or something?!

SimonJT · 28/08/2021 15:48

What career bans you from having a tattoo on your wrist?

Devastated over a tattoo and can’t stop crying, I think you really need pull yourself together, that is a complete over reaction.

Indeed
Gensola · 28/08/2021 15:48

I seriously doubt any career will be bothered - I have friends who are barristers, teachers, doctors etc and most have tattoos. He can cover it with shirt cuff, watch or foundation.
His girlfriend sounds very silly and so do you! Calm down!

AnnieBanannie1 · 28/08/2021 15:49

He got dumped over a tattoo?
What exactly has he got?

aaaaah · 28/08/2021 15:50

@HereticFanjo

That's what I'm thinking. The tattoo must be of something controversial if the GF dumped him
PoppyDotx · 28/08/2021 15:50

Slight over reaction about the career- I have two half sleeves and in a well paid job and can manage to cover mine if need be with clothes. With a small tattoo he could even use foundation.

Why would his girlfriend leave him over a tattoo, unless it's extremely offensive then that says more about her than him.

If he regrets getting it done then he can save for removal sessions, if he actually likes it then I'd leave it and give him options about covering it eg like clothes and foundation.

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 28/08/2021 15:50

He can't have his chosen career and his girlfriend dumped him and you're all crying and devastated?

What the hell was the tattoo? I want one

GreenTartan · 28/08/2021 15:52

It's a tattoo associated with drugs, which he didn't realise!

Thanks for the support, it's just a shock. Fucking muppet!

And I'm upset that I can't trust him, he's just an eejit!

I'm calmer now.

Thanks for listening to my rant. Yes he's def going to have to pay for it to get removed. I agree! He's phoned work to ask for extra hours.

so a marijuana leaf or something?

happydays2345 · 28/08/2021 15:53

*back from

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 28/08/2021 15:54

DD2 (15) came home with a new piercing the other week. I don't mind about the piercing it was more that she did not ask permission and did it behind my back.

Who was he on holiday with?

aaaaah · 28/08/2021 15:54

Oh dear.. yes I'd just try and help him get it removed. We all do stupid things.
