He has already had his Birthday present. A laptop which cost a bit more than I would have liked but it's done now.

DH says no more spending but he would say that. But DS1 has nothing to open on the day. Sad
What small things could I get to wrap?

He got up this morning and declared he did want balloons and candles and banners. Angry

Oh no! Another shopping trip for you then?

By tonight it might have changed back, you never know.

Sparklingbrook · 28/06/2013 11:24

And candles come in packs of ten monikar. Angry Grin
He was really quiet this morning. Hope he's not having second thought about his bash.

Do you have any unused candles in a drawer somewhere? Then you could probably get away with just the one pack.

He is probably excited and a bit nervous. Once all the boys arrive they will be having a brilliant extremely noisy time very quickly, so I wouldn't really worry.

Sparklingbrook · 28/06/2013 11:38

Yes, I do have some candles actually. Somewhere. Grin

He has asked me to find all the Nerf Guns. Yikes!

monikar · 28/06/2013 13:17

What's a Nerf gun? Confused

Sparklingbrook · 28/06/2013 13:23

These sort of things monikar.

Thanks - stand well back!

Sparklingbrook · 28/06/2013 20:38

Grin Oh my, this is really happening. His friends are texting to confirm times etc.

OP posts:
monikar · 28/06/2013 22:33

I'm sure they will all have a great time. What time are they all arriving?

Sparklingbrook · 28/06/2013 22:38

11am monikar To watch the Rugby I think.

Aww - they'll have a lovely time.

You personally are not required to provide entertainment or cordon bleu fare!

They'll be pleased to have a get-together for the 'banter' etc!

Have you got some wine in for later (for you!)

bigTillyMint · 29/06/2013 12:09

Hope you're hiding, SparklingWink

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2013 12:10

I am in the bedroom watching TV. It's going to be a long day i think....

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 29/06/2013 13:12

But it's sunny! Can't you do some gardening?!

Bowlersarm · 29/06/2013 13:18

How's it going Sparkling?

Keep thinking of the nice reward of a large glass of wine when they've all gone home Grin

I am luxuriating in the fact that all our birthdays are over in the first half of the year, so I don't have to worry now until February. Yay.

monikar · 29/06/2013 13:23

I usually hide upstairs and leave the kids to have the TV downstairs. The thing is though that they get louder and louder as time goes on! It shows they are having a good time though.

Have they started on the food yet? Grin

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2013 14:02

Update

All going well, I think. Except DS1 has hurt his foot and is being a bit of a drama queen. Hmm He came and moaned about it to me and I had to shove him back in the living room.

Nerf battles have been fought.

Food is being consumed and they are now on the Haribo and PS3.

I think they are going over the fields at some point.

Sparkling Cat is horrified by the whole thing. Sad

OP posts:
monikar · 29/06/2013 15:33

Pleased it's going well. Smile

Your poor cat.

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2013 15:35

Can't relax though. They are back from the fields and it's Nerf Wars again. Hmm

Bowlersarm · 29/06/2013 15:41

What time are they going home?

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2013 15:44

About 8pm. DH is dropping them all back. DS1 goes to school 12 miles away so they are from all over the place.

It's nice to have them here, he changed schools and the fact that a year on this is happening for his Birthday is great.

monikar · 29/06/2013 15:51

It sounds like they are having a great time. They will have lots more 'in-jokes' from today and will talk about it for ages to come.
