DS1 is 14 at the end of the week, ideas needed please .

He has already had his Birthday present. A laptop which cost a bit more than I would have liked but it's done now.

DH says no more spending but he would say that. But DS1 has nothing to open on the day.
What small things could I get to wrap?

My DS's were at a school 9 miles away when they were little - some of their friends were up to 12 miles the other side if school which meant if they went to play at the weekend/in the holidays sometimes it would be an 80 mile trip for me if I dropped them there, came home, picked them up, came home. (now their school is even further away but they are old enough to get themselves around by train).

Yes Bowlers not too long til . We have pizza ordering to do yet so that should be complicated.

I just imagine most Mums taking all this in their stride and not stressing like I do.

Yes I envy those relaxed mums too. I am relaxed in most ways but not when it comes to entertaining other people's children. Oh the responsibility. At least your DS is an age he can entertain them himself.

Yes, you don't want to send one home broken do you? They seem like a lovely bunch. I have only met two of the five before.

Just dropped DS at a similar do - they are in the garden ensconsed in the birthday tent - 10 x 12yo boys. Gulp!

Sparkling, I remember your angst about him changing schools (our DS had done the same a little while earlier). Glad it's all worked out so well for him. DS's current friends are by far the biggest benefit of his school move, and it sounds like your DS's are too.

Yes Lance, I can't believe he's been there a whole year after all that stressing.
The friends thing was the major concern at the old school, I am so glad it's worked out. They are having a great time-makes me feel a bit teary.

10 12 year olds Tilly? Blimey that's hard core.
