Who's booking new ink for 2022?

Just paid a deposit for a very bright new piece on my forearm in April. Most excited.
Anyone else got anything booked?

My back wasn't fun, I was nearly snarling by the end of it and had to be drenched in bactine after 5hrs Then I had my wrist tattoo retouched on the same day Grin
Ooh you went to the ribs. 😬 that's never pleasant. Well done!

I was weirdly ok with my back until he went up to the back of my neck then I started twitching like proper muscle spasms.

No words but just the flowers taken up the other side, you can probably just spot the spine scar at the bottom of my back that I'm avoiding. In case I need more spinal surgery because I don't want my tattoo ruining!

Had my first tattoo just pre-pandemic. I love it! Took five hours and the worst bit was getting a stiff neck from lying in one position for so long (it’s on my shoulder). Would absolutely do it again.

I shall report back on Saturday. I have a piercing appointment with another tattoo shop on the 4th February. If things don't go well on Saturday I can always talk to them about a cover up.

I have a tattoo I'd like part covering, it has writing in it and the font just isn't right. I'm just not sure what to ask for. Plus I need to save first. I have three in total and wasn't going to have any more, although I agree it's very addictive! But then I think I'd like something small on my foot maybe ... one day!

Tattoo shop visit today. I felt really awkward. She said that she drew it exactly like the stencil and it’s the way I was lifting my arm to see it. That it looked like that as it was stretching when I move. Said that the black will calm down and won’t end up solid like it originally looked, but more like individual strokes. Said if I was still unhappy when it heals to go back.

On another note I got my brows hennaed today and I'm like something out of angry birds!

Hi Bruno. I'll try get a friend to do it during the week. If not, I'll ask one of my brothers. It's such an awkward place, I can only see it in a mirror.

I'm planning my first tattoo - a memorial one for my late DH. I'm really nervous! But it will be Polaroid style, one behind the other. The back one will be the London skyline and Basil the Great Mouse Detective (representing me and my fave Disney character) and the Epcot ball and Grumpy on the front one with his handwriting saying "love you always" representing him and his fave character.

That’s stunning. Really stunning.

This is a couple of pieces by the artist I’m booked in with. Not to everyone’s taste by any means, but fit well with my existing work.
Very much their style so really giving them any Disney brief is going to be amazing I think. They also seem to heal as wonderfully bright and vibrant as the day they were tattooed, which is something I’ve never seen before. I’m extremely excited!

I had a tattoo on my thigh in 2016, I was initially very unhappy with it and had it redone almost straight away. Stupidly I didn't get the writing covered and now dislike it, not the words but the font. Any ideas what would cover it?

Still not loving my tattoo but have accepted my lot. Don't know if I'll bother going back to the same place to see what she can do. I may go elsewhere for another opinion when I can be bothered.

How is everyone else getting on? Anyone got theirs done in the mean time?

I’m booked in for 2nd April to have a truly nasty dolphin band on the top of my arm covered - only defence is I’ve had it 20+yrs and dolphins weren’t such a thing when I had it done Blush. I’m having a zombie pin up - nose art style, in a grave yard with flowers and a moon. I’m also having 2 werewolves to represent DD’s - the best way I can describe the art style is Corpse Bride, It probably sounds awful and I’m not describing it very well Blush. I will be able to go further down my arm should I decide to have a full sleeve.

Oh thats disappointing that you're still not happy with it.

Whats the studio like in general? You tend to find the best artists have long waiting lists. Get on to Instagram, Facebook and Google Images etc and have a good search for what it is you envisaged in the first place, you've then at least got some reference. If you can find any UK artists you like it might be worth travelling to those to see if they can tweak things?

It's a very reputable shop and the girl who did the tattoo is the owner. There are a few other places in my city that have really good reputations. Probably should book a consultation with one of them.

I'm not upset about it anymore, more whatever about it. It's just a funny story of a shite tattoo.

Was only in London two weeks ago, I should have asked for recommendations. I have family living there so would be happy to travel.

@NowYouListenToMeFella I was hypercritical of my first tattoo. Spent too long looking at it for imperfections. But as time has gone on I made my peace with its quirks and I love it now though it’s never on full display.

I don’t love my second - I rushed into it, the artist added bits on the day that in retrospect were unnecessary, parts of it didn’t take (it’s on my foot) and it’s much darker than I would have liked. But it’s fine because my feet are mostly covered anyway.

Having said all that, I am getting twitchy for a third (and fourth)

Ginger mine is on my ribs so can keep it covered. Glad you have grown to love yours. I still like what mine means to me so that's the main thing. I was all gung ho for a second one until I saw this one. Might leave it a while.

Unless i win the lottery theres no new ink for me this year.
I got 2 last year.
A handpoke tattoo of a butterfly on my hand.
And a Madonna tattoo.

I really want to save and get a decent piece but i have so much happening this year.I dont know if its possible.

I so badly want my neck or my knee done,
