Who's booking new ink for 2022?

Just paid a deposit for a very bright new piece on my forearm in April. Most excited.
Anyone else got anything booked?

Want to get booked in to start my music themed lower leg sleeve. I want to draw the designs so need to start working on them really!

I’ve got tons of tatts but made sure I can cover them up for changing jobs (altho think in this day and age it shouldn’t matter a jot if people have tattoos/ piercings it’s such an old fashioned view now)

Wow incorrigible, that must have been some experience. Fair play dementedma, will you get anymore? Tricky and Bruno how do you come up with your ideas? I haven't a creative bone in my body, so would be no help to you Blue. Do you mind having to wait until June Chastain?

The star wars ones were fairly simple, just characters I loved and cos played so Boba, a storm trooper, a scout plus r2, c3po and a little yoda in there too. The tattooist I used for those is a big comic book fan so I trusted him to work it all up.

My right wrist tattoo is something we did during another sitting, probably not the best way to go about things, but I'd mentioned I wanted a Metallica logo like a heart beat trace, he sketched it and did it there and then with no charge 😂

My other wrist is some elvish script and I also have a smaug on my foot with 'I am fire I am death' again in elvish. That was taken from a drawing in the Hobbit books.

Right foot has the bass line of the Metallica so g orion on it, again something very personal to me. My best friend did that for me as she reads music and I don't, so she transcribed it and my tattooist then shaped it to my foot along with a bass clef.

The new one I've just paid the deposit for is a bit different because I won't see the design until the day. The artist is extremely talented and works in a very bold, Bright style with disney designs. Ive asked for a haunted mansion tattoo. I've seen them do others so I have no doubt at all that what they design will be out of this world. There is some scope for change but I'm yet to see any work of that nature they've done that's not outstanding. In fact, if you Google any disney ink it's almost always their work which comes up first.
Haunted Mansion means a lot to me. My dad worked in the US when I was a kid and some of my fondest memories are being on the ride in disneyland and my absolute amazement at how they did what they did with it. I've been back many times with DH and our now adult kids and always head for the mansion first.
Which weirdly brings me to my next tattoo I think, as DS absolutely loves Small World, so I was thinking of a balloon with a boy and a girl in the small world style in it to represent them. Darent tell DH 😂

Bruno your body sounds like a work of art. I really love your haunted mansion idea. No idea what Small Works is so I shall have to Google.

I'm getting very excited for Saturday now. I don't get to see mine until the day either. I really like the artists work, I had done a lot of looking around and can make changes on the day if I don't like something.

Small World was one of the first rides at Disneyland. It's very sweet with lots of little animatronic dolls singing a very repetitive song. Each doll represents a country and sings in their own language. Its a wonderfully sedate indoor water ride from a much simpler time.

There is a California based artist who specialises in tattoos of this ride and she's fabulous!

The small world tattoos are really nice Bruno. I bought a new bra this evening to wear Saturday. Mine are all gone to shit and no one seeing them. It's seamfree and very soft so hopefully be ok. One more question if I may. How long did you wait before sweaty exercise? I've seen 48 hours. Planning on going to the gym Tuesday.

All done. I have to say I didn't find it painful at all. Quite red and swollen so it doesn't look great. Hoping when things calm down it will look better. I've booked myself a forward helix piercing for next weekend. I'm beginning to think this is my mid life crisis.

Oh brilliant! I did think of you earlier and wondered how you were going on! I was about 40 when I had my scaffold piercing. Growing old disgracefully hah

One cat turned out lovely, the other not so much. I have just unwrapped and washed it. I'm really disappointed. I don't want to post pics on here but if someone wouldn't mind me DMing them for advice I'd really appreciate it.

The more I look the more I find that I don't like. While the markings on car one are good. The outline and shape of the arse end of him is bad.

That's a shame op. Was it a well known/well reviewed artist?

If you're not happy then I'm sure one of us can recommend an artist that is very good at re-works/cover ups.

I've had a couple of cover ups/corrections done when I've not been happy.

Did the tattooist post a pic on Instagram that you can link to? They often do this.

One thing I'd say, often new fresh raw/scabby tattoos can look really crap/swollen and then look much better when healed. So it might look better after a few weeks?

No, they didn't take any pics of it. I'm sure the artist isn't on Mumsnet but I'd feel a bit mean posting pics.

No, I could've had an appointment end of April/early May but I'm currently training for a long distance triathlon in June and can't really take 2 weeks out from swimming so it's booked for a few days after the race!!

I was going to say this too! Sometimes swelling can make a design look distorted.
