Haha yes it's all in the voice - the trying to pretend you're not on it but clearly trying too hard and sound even more on it - type thing.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 18/04/2017 21:10

Coke radar skills. What a shit talent to have. What has my life come to.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 18/04/2017 21:11

That's exactly it, Sunshine What are we like Blush

serialtester · 18/04/2017 21:15

At least we have a talent though!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 18/04/2017 21:33

It would be useful if their was a Mumsnet's Got Talent thread. We could wow everyone, or possibly get reported and ripped to shreds.. Hmm

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 18/04/2017 21:35

..especially as I got my their and theres muddled up. oops.

serialtester · 18/04/2017 21:47

I think everyone would be well impressed and no one would give us a biscuit or anything!

Evening all! I have radar skills so honed I managed to go round a room in my head, mentally labelling people as 'yes they do it' or 'nope not a chance'.
DH and I had a bet!
I won
the prize was the extra line we had

serialtester · 18/04/2017 22:05

Haha pickle! Me and DH (who is coke naive) were out the other day and he expressed concern about a group of young people who kept going to the loo. He thought they might be unwell. I was like "they're fucking doing coke (the lucky bastards)" He was like "how do you know that?" I was like "I read it on the internet"

No, Lost , a mumsnet BGT would be awful! Proud mums performing with their DS, DN and Ddogs. Smug couples salsa dancing. Our talents would not be appreciated!

serialtester · 18/04/2017 22:10

And there'd be the people feeding a family of 12 on 25p a week.

OP posts:
Inarightpickleandchutney · 18/04/2017 22:17

Once you stop for a bit too it is just so obvious.

I'm amazed I got away with it and wasn't confronted!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 18/04/2017 23:12

Hello Pickle, glad you're still hanging about (and glad I'm not the only one that scans a room mentally for coke heads, I thought I was weird)!

You're right, D I didn't think the Mumsnet BGT through at all.. Salsa dancing you say? it's a no from me I'm afraid. Grin

Serial your "I read it on the internet" comment made me laugh.
Good darts.

Off to dream about Fast and Furious, night all x

CleaningLikeAMotherFucker · 19/04/2017 08:19

Bonjour! My halo slipped big time last night but I had a good giggle with my mate and so I'm not gonna get down about it.

Besides as dh pointed out, once every three weeks is a far cry from 5/6 night a week... I used to wake up craving Blush

Have a lovely day everyone Smile

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/04/2017 18:35

Allo Cleaning Just noticed your overboard confession! Hope you've recovered a bit by now. It certainly blows your head off when you've been a few weeks off it (well it did mine last time Blush)

On we surf.. Had a windy day out by the coast today and I've now got a really sunburnt face! Angry

CleaningLikeAMotherFucker · 19/04/2017 19:34

Part of the problem is that I'm like a machine. I was at my desk by 7:45 and fit in a workout at lunchtime Grin it's like a delayed reaction lol. I think that's why I was using so heavily for so long.

Tbh I had a wicked time, I can't lie Blush I think it was fun because it was spontaneous though, I no longer feel chained to the same routine like the old days.

CharlieFoxtrotEtch · 19/04/2017 21:01

OK. Triggered.
NC - obviously. Been browsing the Freds for a while. Enjoying the surf, but struggling to keep my head above the bubbles.
History - introduced at a tender age. Went from geek to chic at 18, and was proud to embrace the lifestyle. People appearing with (free) snow to enhance magazines. I was a dick, in all honesty. Somehow, I recovered independently. Gained reasonable gainful employment, married, had kids (blah). Clean for years.
Divorced, met a man who travelled in beautiful circles. He was a snow-fiend. Revisited my demons, but sparingly. He left me, and I stumbled into a snowstorm.
It's still snowing, but I need some sun.
Anyone with a subbed?

serialtester · 19/04/2017 21:20

Charlie, there's always room here. I've gone from being a heavy user (think having a Monday morning sniff to get me to work) to being clean since January. It ain't easy, you will fuck up but if you are a bit sick of the shit and want to moderate we are your gang.

CharlieFoxtrotEtch · 19/04/2017 22:05

Thanks. I need likeminded people to help. I rack up before I get out of bed. Blush
Not loads, and not every day, but enough.
It was initiated by a medical condition. I used to use research chemicals to function, but the law changed. Now, I do what is needed to function. My sleep is screwed, but I function.
It's a mess, but I need to work. Fuck. Gin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/04/2017 22:17

Charlie welcome to the surf squad. It's fucking hard, there is no magic answer as you undoubtedly know (!) just sheer grit and determination to stay off it and finding as much support as you can.
We're here to help. Remember baby steps; take it by the hour if you need to at first. I know I could quite quickly slip back to having a massive habit.
We all understand Flowers

Heck you have stamina Cleaning! Gone are the days when I can power through a comedown like you. You make me feel old Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/04/2017 22:21

I thought I'd tried most things but Research Chemicals is a new one on me! I'm sure you have a story or two to tell, Charlie. Hope you stick around. x

CharlieFoxtrotEtch · 19/04/2017 23:40

I'm sure there are others familiar with RCs.
Backstory - I have an incurable medical condition that creates abnormal tiredness. If I am unmedicated, it is easy to perceive this as laziness.
A year ago it was perfectly legal to source these chemicals in the U.K. I could afford to function.
The chemicals in my life were 3FPM, ethyl-hexedrone (hex-en), ethylphenidate, etc.
These are chemicals that could be legally obtained, with lab certificates. I would refer to them as functional stimulants. They are relatively safe, predictable, and allowed me to live reasonably normally.
Then cometh the psychoactive substances bill. This has driven many back to illegals, including myself.
When you have children, you need to be awake. Illegals are risky, but the alternative is unworkable.
My life is a mess. My GP will advise that I stop working, or that I should be able to function normally. Neither is realistic at the moment.
So, here I am.
I want to ditch it. It's not even particularly useful, compared to the options I had previously, but I have a duty to my kids.
This is tough to answer. My medical issue reduces my options considerably.
I'm not sure this thread is appropriate, or that any would be.
Sorry.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 20/04/2017 08:54

Charlie that's really shit. You're in a difficult position and your illness sounds awful. You're welcome to remain on here for support in cutting down or trying to manage things. Do you need cocaine to function or do you have some days off it? It's a crying shame you can't be prescribed something more suitable.
It makes me quite embarrassed to admit that that I don't really have a reason for taking it, I'm just hooked on the high. Blush

Wishing everyone on board a good Thursday Brew

serialtester · 20/04/2017 08:56

Anyone who wants to quit, cut down, manage their use for whatever reason is always welcome here.

It is bloody ridiculous that you are being forced to resort to street drugs to manage your condition.
