In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

Well by the time we came out of the chapel it was raining here too rufus. Never mind though.
I have never been so complemented: the dress, my figure, and my fringe, by everyone. Does make me wonder what they thought before!!!
The dress was great for the occasion because at one point I went to pick up one of dd's toys in the aisle and was facing the entire congregation. Good job the wrap was secure and quite high so no cleavage on show.
There were tears and tantrums of course, by people who should know better, but they all had a great carvery lunch and dessert, then came back for a cup of tea and a lovely looking cake (7 weeks no sugar for me). They had all gone by 4.30, and dh is now handling sugar induced tantrum from dc1 who insisted we make rice cripy cakes for the Sunday school, and there were a few left over.

Hope everyone is well, really interesting to read about different experiences. What a varied life we all lead!

Ah it sounds like a wonderful day Bloss and I'm sure you looked stunning in that dress!! Yes I get like that too sometimes if I'm complimented but no seriously sounds like you looked amazing

Raining here but only showers, I have all the windows open as I wastetimeonMN BF, love the smell of rain!

Yes Tracey they must have had a promotional weekend, I didn't realise it was temporary. Also going through the top cashback site I got 12% back or so, which by my standards is exceptionally wise spending!

bunnymother · 06/06/2010 18:48

Tracey - great idea for shorts, will trot off to H&M asap for the khaki version of my navy ones. And will also get the fake tan out.

Blossoming - bugger about the rain for your christening, but how lovely to have been so complimented. You must be delighted!

Who was mentioning a navy pea coat? I tried on a black wool pea coat today in one of those cashmere / wool shops on Portobello Road, and it was lovely and fitted really well. However, it wasn't esp soft (the wool wasn't rough, but was stiff, wonder it that means it will last longer?) and had 2 big pockets on the outside. Hmm, will have to have a think. Thanks to the iPhone, have a photo of me in it that can show DH.

bunnymother · 06/06/2010 18:49

Oh, Vin - hope your missing parcel shows up v soon!!

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 19:13

ah, that's marvellous Bloss - never mind the rain, sounds like everything else was a dream. Fabulous.

I can really mostly handle the sole-parenting-on -weekends thing but queuing up with 3 children for an hour and half to get faces painted at the summer fair today was not one of my most enjoyable experiences. Seeing how cute they looked afterwards though - not mention how delighted and excited they were - worth it. Almost.

vin that is awful about your parcel!! Presumably you have knocked on the door? (presumably it is in your street??)

going back to look at links now.

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 19:15

blimey [http://www.the-dressingroom.com/FOOTWEAR/c20/p751/Ash-Naomi-Python---Military/product_info.html they're out of stock in all but my size]] since I looked this morning!!

quick - should I or not??

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 19:16

these I mean

vinauchocolat · 06/06/2010 19:18

Yes it's my street! Am so silly, you know when you type in the postcode and then choose your address, well I must have chosen the wrong address myself I shall blame DP for bothering me while trying to sneakily internet shop Have been a couple times- argh, and it's a flat so there are lots of buzzers..shall try tomorrow pm..

aw well done on the summer fair outing, I nearly went to regent st for giant paella and then DP refused and I ummed and aahed about taking DS on my own, he's a bit too big now for his babybjorn (ie I'm a bit too unfit, it kills my back after 20 mins) so instead have loafed about, and DS has just had a nappy leakage on me- eeurgh..

vinauchocolat · 06/06/2010 19:20

do it LTEC, they're lovely! (and you can return, non

vinauchocolat · 06/06/2010 19:21

do it do it!!

Zembo · 06/06/2010 19:27

Tracey Roary is absolutely right about the beconase You sound like you're really suffering. Here's a link re: antihistamines and breastfeeding. You can buy loratadine over the counter - I'd go for that and beconase, but bear in mind the beconase will take at least a few days to become effective and needs to be used regularly. Your local pharmacist should be able to sort you out, antihistamines are fairly cheap over the counter.

Zembo · 06/06/2010 19:28

Let me know if you want anymore info!

traceybath · 06/06/2010 19:28

Get them definitely!

Blossoming - how lovely to get all those compliments.

vinauchocolat · 06/06/2010 19:29

Zembo · 06/06/2010 19:31

LTEC the shoes are gorgeous, you'd be mad not to

traceybath · 06/06/2010 19:32

Oooo thanks Zembo - right off to boots tomorrow.

Vin - thats very sad regarding your friend.

RedBlueRed · 06/06/2010 19:33

Oh Vinauchoc I'm really sorry about your friend. Have no idea about any outnet codes, sorry.

Blossoming, glad you got so many compliments. You must have just looked more exceptionally stunning than usual today.

vinauchocolat · 06/06/2010 19:39

yeah it's just a bit of a shock. I can't hit the wine/gin/rum as am breastfeeding.. I think a touch of NaP may cure all ills. She was one of my friends from my anorexic years, I've known her almost a decade and she's always been such a good friend but sadly I guess she was more unwell than I realised. She kept asking me how I recovered, kept asking for help, but obviously I didn't have a magical answer to cure her, and I never replied to her last email so I feel a bit guilty! argh

traceybath · 06/06/2010 19:43

Oh Vin - poor your friend and poor you. Do you not drink at all when bf? Afraid I still have a glass or two of wine . . .

NAP sale must start very soon.

RedBlueRed · 06/06/2010 19:45

You were clearly a very good friend to her for a long time. I think sometimes people get beyond help and I don't doubt you did the best you could. You really shouldn't feel guilty.

vinauchocolat · 06/06/2010 19:45

I go all squiffy on just a sip of wine at the moment- the effect of 3 years non stop pregnancy/BFing. I was a hardcore alcoholic before

vinauchocolat · 06/06/2010 19:55

Thanks Cain, I'm good at guilt but I know I couldn't have helped her really. Right I'm off before I spend loads, back when DP isn't looking!

AllBuggiedOut · 06/06/2010 20:16

So sorry about your friend vin

hf128219 · 06/06/2010 20:18

vin That is very sad about your friend

bloss how lovely to be so complimented - I bet you looked great

LTEC hope you got your shoes. You deserve it after 90 mins in a queue!
