Thanks to ltec for the new title.

dolcee, so sorry to hear about your accident. Did wonder where you were yesterday.

Also, where is ollie? carciofi, have you seen this red bag?. I have the changing bag in the range, and love the quality leather. Am very tempted with the red bag myself especially at that price.

My hair is dark brunette with no white. My eyes are good. Also when I'm not carrying baby weight, when I'm about 9st 10 - 10st, clothes look good on me as I'm straight up and down. Dh likes my bum and my boobs.
My feet are like something out of a horror film however!

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 30/05/2010 18:11

Dolcee - how scary. Can you have a chat to DH later to let him know how his behaviour was not quite on!?

Very at all those of you (in fact all of you it seems) that have no grey/white. I started going white at about 21

LTEC - I saw the Style article too and agree that it was a little too familiar in it's sourcing.

bunnymother · 30/05/2010 18:13

My good bits are my lovely long fingers, my feet are nice and my legs are good. The rest is OK and I think overall, everything is good enough that most people think I am attractive, but I think if they looked harder they would see that I am pretty average. I see LOTS of faults, but try and make the most of what I have. Am no natural beauty.

vinauchocolat · 30/05/2010 18:21

Dolcee ouch what a frightening experience- you may find, sadly, thgat you feel worse in the coming few days as whiplash-type injuries can take a few days to appear. Hope you're OK, though, truly scary

Cake you should be writing the style supps, definitely. There's one in the daily mail who has no idea what she's on about [not that I read the DM, ehem] but she's really quite bad. Go nab her job!

and at those with no grey hair and nice feet! I have freaky long toes and already have some white hairs (!! in early 20s!!) Actually I could write an epic post on what I hate but- erm, that would not be good, so my best features are my ears, lips and my collarbone/shoulders. I hate everything else, with a passion!

carciofi · 30/05/2010 18:23

Dolcee, so sorry about your accident. I was in a crash a few months ago and it was awful, you really have my sympathies.

I like that bag you linked to, Blossoming and a good price too.

ABO, we could have met up!

We have been talking about schools all day and we have decided to move back to Dublin in a couple of years, in time for DD to start school there, and DH will commute from London, yippee!

I am tall and have a fairly good figure, face ok with make-up but really quite ordinary, I think.

FritziGreenEyes · 30/05/2010 19:15

Dolcee - Sorry to hear about your accident. Must be traumatic... Hope you'll feel better soon! Can you get someone to help you with DCs while DH is away next week?

vin - Had also my first grey hairs when I was 21. Would probably be white by now but I'm not yet ready to look like a granny. I'm a regular at our local Aveda salon.

So hair is definitely not my best point. What I like most about myself are my green eyes (in case you hadn't already guessed). Skin is pale but not wrinkly (yet). Also like my shoulders, neck, collarbone, arms, wrists, hands and ankles.

AWellHungParliament · 30/05/2010 19:38

Some awful accidents recently, I hope you are all on the mend.

Interesting to think about the positives of my body - I have really struggled!
My hands are very young looking and nicely shaped.
My eyelashes are long and thick and I have never needed to curl them.
However, the rest of me is a complete state - horrific stretch marks on my boobs and tum, I started going grey at 15 and just about everything is bigger/flabbier/lower than I would like.
Despite this I actually get a lot of compliments from men (and women), if they are to be believed, it would seem that I have sex appeal - funny then that I have not had a date (nevermind a boyfriend) in over 2 years. To be fair, I am a fussy bugger.

I'm going to have to stop following links, I love so many of the things you ladies link to. The red bags are both fabulous.

bunnymother · 30/05/2010 19:58

Dolce - oh, so sorry about your accident! Completely normal to be so shaken up, so do make your DH coo over you a bit.

Re grey hairs, I don't think I would care about that as grey hairs are usually quite thick and I would like thicker hair. Of course I would dye it, but I haven't had natural hair colour since I was 18 years old.

Am VERY of those of you with nice lips, I would love a pair of luscious lips. I really would. Especially if they came with nice even teeth. Oh the smiles I would flash and the laughs I would laugh! A friend of mine has a mouth like that and I told her never to close it. She should always smile and laugh.

And Roma, I am v of your arms, have always wanted lean arms. Oh the lovely sleeveless tops I could wear with pride.

Cakey - would love to have caramel coloured skin. Am total wash out (so pale and just burn) but DD has golden skin and it is just the most beautiful colour. You golden ladies always look so healthy and fresh. And the colours you can wear!

notyummy · 30/05/2010 20:33

Sorry to hear about the accident Dolcee.I suppose the only positive thing to do is thank your lucky stars that it wAsn't worse, but I know fr prior experience how scary it is and how shaky you must feel.

Fel1x · 30/05/2010 20:45

Evening ladies,
You have been very avid (at talking!) while I have been away! So much to catch up on!
I have had a quick scan and see that Congratulations are in order for Verity and Roman! So pleased for you both.
Sorry to hear of your accidents Rufus and Dolcee, sounds horrible. Hope you are both resting up and getting lots of TLC!

We had a fab week away. The boys had a whale of a time and loved every minute. Was real quality family time and feel v relaxed now after a week of it

EverythingisEverything I think you were away last week too werent you? I hope that your week turned out to be a good one for you and that you had a lovely time.

Popped to the shops yesterday after returning Fri night (was getting shopping withdrawal) and had a bit of a shopping frenzy in DP.
am wearing this vest today and its fab
this is much nicer in RL
this I love and am wearing with the parrot vest in clashing manner
and lastly this cardigan which is a good basic for me, lovely and soft
Am going to have a glass of something cold and catch up on all your links now

blossoming · 30/05/2010 21:36

I have been going through my wardrobe trying on my dresses that should fit again and I can't recommend spanx half slip enough for smoothing out indent.

Welcome back felix, and everyone else who's been away.

OP posts:
notyummy · 30/05/2010 21:39

Ah yes, the magic of spanx! I have a range of them....

VerityBrulee · 30/05/2010 21:50

Welcome back Fe1ix glad you had a lovely break

Dolce huge hugs to you, that must have been so scarey, your dh needs a good shake for not being more thoughful, you have had a huge shock.

Carciofi that's a big decision! You probably know this already, but get dd's name down tomorrow for any schools you are interested in. Most are first come, first served and people but dc's names down at birth for the more popular schools. It will be a big change for you shopping wise, I so love the idea of nipping into Liberty for a quick look around. I love the red bag btw.

I like my waist and slim wrists, but my skin is sooo pale and like Bunny I would love to have a golden glow that didn't come via Guerlain!

DolceeBanana · 30/05/2010 22:13

You are all such gorgeous ladies! Thanks for your kind words...

DH has admitted being a bit pratty! But went into practical help mode rather than establishing that emotional help mode would be good too!!! These things (men that is) really are from Mars!

Love his heart: produced scrambled eggs and glass of vino to soothe (although much better tonight - must be the wine)... He told his mother about accident tonight and she was mortified...so maybe made him think twice...?

He had a horrific experience a few years ago where his sister tragically died in a car accident, so has deep concerns, but shows it in mysterious ways!

Romanarama · 30/05/2010 22:19

cake you can mail me at Romanarama1972 at gmail dot com

Welcome back everyone. Just took my See by Chloe outnet dress out for dinner again. Bit wet and chilly here again though, and forecast is miserable all week

Fleecy · 30/05/2010 22:37

Dolce - sorry to hear of your accident and glad you're feeling a little less shaken now. Very about your SIL.

My good bits - arms, legs (apart from very top of inner thigh), bum, height and face.

Bad bits - rubbish hair (very fine and lots of grey), a belly button that looks like a cats bum. Seriously hate it. 'Tis something like this (although tummy pretty much flat now which helps). I tell people it's because DS was 10lb 2oz but my bump was equally huge with DD and she was 6lb 14oz

Am seriously considering my options once I know I'm not having more DC...

Fel1x - glad you had fun. I have that scarf and, strangely enough, posted on here aaages ago that I was very proud of myself for doing a print clash - that scarf with a navy and white stripe vest! It goes with pretty much everything, a prudent buy.

CHOOGIRL · 30/05/2010 23:09

Hi Ladies

Premier was great. Got dressed up in Marc Jacobs and Jimmy Choo. Had cosmos beforehand to get us in the mood. We were at a 'b' list premier, however, so no stars. Twas a private viewing in a cinema round the corner from the real one so no gossip.

Any one been to Canada? I'm off to the grand prix in 10 days and want to know what the shopping will be like.

Off to check out previous posts using Cakes trick of opening two windows.

rufus101 · 30/05/2010 23:26

OhDolcee poor you. What a shock. Glad your DH is being a bit more clucky. You need minding after something like that. Love the fact the policeman thought you were younger! (It's the little things!)
Helles I read that somewhere about ageing really starting after 41 in the last few days! Felt really despondent, hence my frenzied purchase of the derma roller! I keep thinking of NY and the 7 creams she puts on every morning! Thinking I must do that. Can you link again NY? (you are my role model!)
Had a BBQ over in friend's house this afternoon. Was complemented on my outfit by DH and friend. Black leggings, grey silk long top, and matching grey jersey longline cardie, with primark 13 euro sandals, which have started to fall apart! (Only wearing them for the 2nd time!) Can't do links as all boutique buys from SIL. She is a fashion wholesaler and sells stuff off at cost a few times a year. You wouldn't believe the mark up on clothes. Basically she buys a dress for 30 euro, sells it to shop for 90, they sell it for 300! Incredible stuff,

CHOOGIRL · 30/05/2010 23:30

Congratulations to Verity and Roma on the new jobs.

I too thought the Sunday Times Style article on combats was a bit familiar

Rufus hope you are on the mend. Made my blood run cold reading your story. Dolce Hope you are feeling better too.

Notyummy how do you link on i-phone?

Roma Hope you have recovered after your AIBU episode. How is the ipad? I have an iphone and Macbook. Do I need an ipad?

I am a Virgo and a pedant (or anal as my team used to call me). The apostrophe is my thing so am mortified to see I have missed one in my last post - blame my laziness when posting on discussion boards

OllieWollieWoo · 31/05/2010 09:20

Morning! I'm now back in the land of windmills and clogs - and back to the laptop so a long waffly post to follow! Arrived first thing this morning via the overnight boat. Had a flat tyre drama tho getting off ferry which caused a bit of a hot sweat -but turns out I have those tyres which you can drive on with a flat so trundled home for DH to sort! (Hadn't seen him for a week cos of his sailing holiday and he swept out of the house looking all tanned and v handsome and gave us all big bear hugs - felt quite emotional!)

Anyway - lots to catch up on here! Saw the ST article too and thought of you all!
Dolce you poor thing - what a horrible thing to experience. I would be jelly too.
Blossoming - which spanx do you have, think I need to invest! Now in possession of the Shred and Belly Buster DVDs but doubt they will work before I go on holiday in 2 weeks! Sorry to read re the WC t's too - did you go for the Lands End ones instead?
Rufus - sorry re your accident - hope you are feeling better and its healing well.
Choo - did you enjoy the SITC film? I thought the take a sip scene was v funny - and Abdul!

Limited shopping opportunities whilst away but did pick up some white 7/8 trousers from Monsoon which are v flattering and a good fit, (finally used vouchers I've had for 2 years!), a pink cropped cardi from Fat Face, gorgeous hyacinth (thats Joules speak for purple!) fineknit jumper and matching check shirt for DH - v preppy but v him, the usual trainers/shorts etc for kids from Next and a Tescos shop to keep me in Bovril for the next 6 months!
Fleecy no Tescos top - but picked up a similar one in (sssh) Peacocks - I did say the shopping opportunities were limited! The Mint Velvet dress was a no go - clung in the wrong places and just didnt suit me. The Blossoming top is a big hit tho - thank you Blossoming!

The Gruffalo was excellent - DS2 a bit nervous and kept putting my hands over his ears but once The Gruffalo turned up on stage he loved it and was roaring with laughter! Better start unpacking! Have a good day everyone!

hellsbelles · 31/05/2010 09:48

Choo - I bet you looked amazing! Love love love the outfit (hasn't cake got the same dress?).

DH would say 'yes' you do need an ipad...we too have the apple laptop and iphones. He keeps muttering that 'it's the future ) and is currently reading The Times on it with a smug expression on his face!

Rufus - I need to get me one of those roller things too! Can you tell me how you get on with it?

OWW - very avid and wise shopping and glad to hear the Gruffalo was good.

I put on a maxi today (wallis - it has straps...my only requirement for a maxi dress )...and took it off 10 mins later as it's just too grey outside for wafting. Back in Houlihans and black tee-shirt (I will make these worth their money...I will...I will - even if they make my thighs look big and you all hate them )

roary · 31/05/2010 09:53

choo is the grand prix in Montreal? Am Canadian but no nothing about cars. In general in Canada you can get all the big US brands. Holt Renfrew or ogilivies in montreal vaguely Harvey nicks equivalent. Lots of gorgeous boutiques in old Montreal. Quebec women spend twice as much on clothes as rest of country so you'll get good stuff!

LetThemEatCake · 31/05/2010 10:07

Quick check in from iPhone while I feed the bub.

Welcome back OWW!
Choo am so pleased you wore the MJ, bet you looked da bomb
thanks Roma, will e you tonight
rufus your outfit yest sounds lovely
mrsj, methinks you need a new mirror. Your teeth may very well be lovely but remember I am fb friends with you and IMHO you are 'stop to get a better look' lovely.
Funny that so many of us like our collarbones, wrists etc- all those reliably bony places!!
Forgot to give my feet a nod, they are big (but in proportion!) and pretty.

Am going to enjoy my one day en famille today in River Island skinny khakis (zembo where are you and have you worn yours yet?) Hasbeens and 2 white tanks layered.

Hope you all enjoy your days too.

LetThemEatCake · 31/05/2010 10:09

Yes hells I do have that dress!

I don't hate the Houlis, am just trying to assert myself as the Gok of A&W. You know, get the look for less. Hopefully there's a tv show in it for me

notyummy · 31/05/2010 10:44

Fe1ix - glad you had fun. Just checked the weather for Lake Garda Rufus - gorgeous all this week, but heavy rain on Saturday! We fly out next Monday, so it best buck its ideas up.

Right, linking on the iphone. Basically, I find the item I want to link to, then tap hard with my nail (nail seems to work - finger not ?!) on the website address. This brings up options inc select. Tap select, then copy. I then nav back to the A & W thread and deposit my link by tapping with nail again to bring up the 'paste' option.

Rufus- creams. I am such a product junkie!!

wrinkle eraser/polyfiller

general smoother and brightener

moisturiser

for the eyes

also this for bottom and thighs - the only product of its kind I have found to make a marked difference. But is £££.

Am also using this when needed for occasional hormonal breakouts on my chin. Why, when I am old enough for wrinkles to develop, do I still get some spots?? It is unfair I tell you!
