Thanks to ltec for the new title.

LetThemEatCake · 29/05/2010 22:43

was trying to help ... sorry.

notyummy · 29/05/2010 22:52

Aww,don't slink! Was caught up on own smugness at ability to cut and paste on the iPhone.

Cossie is indeed lovely, bit quite a lot of money for something that won't get much wear overall across the year. Not sure I would wear it to local pool when teaching dd to swim.... Will admire from afar.

hellsbelles · 29/05/2010 22:55

cake - I can't get your saks link to work

NY - beautiful cossie but have you noticed in the NAP pic it seems to shorten the models body? Somehow making her a little bit squat? Maybe she is squat

LetThemEatCake · 29/05/2010 22:59

okay, for anyone who cares - copy & paste this

www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524446358115&FOLDER %3C%3Efolderid=282574492693983&ASSORTMENT%3C%3Eastid=1408474395222441&bmUID=1275170252834&ev19=1:2 4

LetThemEatCake · 29/05/2010 23:01

no forget that

saks website, AKA silk floral print jumpsuit

sheesh.

hellsbelles · 29/05/2010 23:01

wow! playsuitastic...with your colouring it could be gorgeous.

notyummy · 29/05/2010 23:02

Hells-I doubt if she is squat. None of the other ones seem to be. Perhaps it is shortening -for those really tall slim people who want to be wider.Slightly niche market

LetThemEatCake · 29/05/2010 23:06

bit risky though hey. Not like I can take it back. The thing about playsuits is that they elongate the bum. Not a good thing. Even on these gorgeous perfect models

I need to reshape my bum, it is flat from the side and long and broad from the back. Horrid.

notyummy - is it squats and leg lifts I need?

notyummy · 29/05/2010 23:12

nice

Like the playsuits, and the one above.lovely.

Squats and leg raises/donkey kicks.on all fours then hold one leg bent so sole of foot faces ceiling. Push upwards. Hip raises good too. Lie on back on floor. Place feet on couch and then push body up,hold and then lower. Doing it with one leg raised makes it harder.

hellsbelles · 29/05/2010 23:14

at NY - very very niche indeed!!

snap at flat wide bottoms. Mine is horrific.

Tracey Anderson managed to sort out Gwyneth Paltrow's flat bottom didn't she? I wonder if her DVD is any good.

Having said all of that, I don't think the shorter playsuit has quite the same negative effect as the full length one. It is offset by acres of tanned leg to deflect the eye (in your case...not mine).

LetThemEatCake · 29/05/2010 23:18

I am wearing my cropped harems in an effort to get my ahead around them ... you know, after all the stuff on this thread about owning/ not owning a mirror, I succumbed and got a mirror

notyummy · 29/05/2010 23:19

Night all. Must turn in and read some more pages of the vast tome that I keep falling asleep with and nearly braining myself. I suspect dd and her sleepover partner in crime will have me up early!

Ooh cake- after your link to Sesame st, dd has been busy watching all the clips we find when I let her! She was laughing like a drain to Bert and Ernie this morning....

AWellHungParliament · 29/05/2010 23:29

NotYummy whilst you are imparting exercise wisdom please could you suggest some thigh toning moves? Problems are inner thigh and saddle bags (that would be the whole thigh then...)
Should really switch on the Wii Your Shape for the second time since I was given it at Christmas

Fleecy · 29/05/2010 23:30

hells I did Tracey Anderson for a while. Prefer Shred to be honest - took me too long to remember the choreography with the TA one so I ended up pausing/rewinding and not actually working out enough!

Shred good for all over I think. And only 20mins per sesh...

LTEC I like the playsuit and think it would look fab with your colouring and general tall and slender build.

Not sure if you were being ironic in your 'what do I contribute' comment (after Roman's flaming on AIBU ) but I do hope you were messing around! I think you deserve some spoiling after flying solo so much of late

AWellHungParliament · 29/05/2010 23:30

Ooh too late! Night.

Fleecy · 29/05/2010 23:34

Oh yes, the inner bit right at the top of the thigh is stubborn - what's good for that? It's spoiling my much-improved rest-of-leg and I'm not happy about it!

AWellHungParliament · 29/05/2010 23:35

I love that floral playsuit, its very pretty.

LetThemEatCake · 29/05/2010 23:44

JaminmyWellies said no to the floral playsuit if over age of 20, said block colours only

but I am tempted...

I don't have that inner thigh thing ... have recently achieved total bow-legged gap for first time in years .. you know that Shirley Bassey song, I'll never fall in love again, how it goes, what do you get when you fall in love .. my flatmate at uni and I used to prance around singing "what do you get when you lose the gap?" Obsessed with that gap, we were. Am very happy to see the light between my legs again

Still grappling with that outer hip/ thigh indent though ..

notyummy · 30/05/2010 07:41

Ok. Inner thighs- walking lunges dropping down very low. Also, lie on back. Bend one leg up and put foot on the floor. Stretch the other leg out straight in front of you and the foot as far to the outside as possible. Lift leg off floor and then lower and lift in a slow and controlled manner.

Saddle bags. Ha. If o had the answer then I would absolutely none and would bring outy own Dvd. The best one I have found though is on all fours, then stick leg out straight at right angles to body ( not straight back). Lift the leg and lower it. Bit if a killer.

Well my two 3 year old sleepover chums are being a pair of stars. Asleep by 8 last night and playing v quietly in DDs bedroom this morning with her cuddly toys. I have not seen them yet! At this rate I may actually do it again!

notyummy · 30/05/2010 07:43

Even by my new iPhone standards that last post was pretty poor. Apologies for the multiple errors. Hopefully you the got the gist!

bunnymother · 30/05/2010 09:40

Roma - reminds me of a phrase I once heard "how women cling to the chains that bind them". I honestly can't be bothered arguing on many of the MN threads, and that housework thread has just reinforced my decision. But I did very much enjoy reading your arguments, especially as they coincide with mine.

blossoming · 30/05/2010 10:20

notyummy, you realise you've upped the game with your iPhone linking!
No more excuses 'can't link as on iPhone!'

OP posts:
AWellHungParliament · 30/05/2010 10:31

Oh LTEC am even more in awe of you now, I have always tried to regain the daylight-between-my-thighs look, I wonder if I will ever get back there...
I would have thought block colour would be less forgiving than a pretty floral pattern for the over 20s but what do I know?

NotYummy thanks for those exercises, I have decided to start doing stretches in the morning as I get so stiff, so will incorporate those also.

AWellHungParliament · 30/05/2010 10:36

Meant to also say, I followed your link Roma and was fairly disgusted by some of the comments, needlessly nasty.

I'm both the out-of-home worker and the chief homemaker so have no-one but myself to resent for not helping!
I do get ds to do quite a few chores though so hopefully, when he grows up he will make someone a decent partner.

rufus101 · 30/05/2010 12:05

Roman you were very brave posting on AIBU. There seems to be a particular type over there, just waiting to pounce, and whip those of a similar frame of mind into a complete frenzy. When I see that kind of thing happening I can completely understand how events like the Salem witch trials occured!
LTEC love the playsuit, think it would suit perfectly.
NY very impressed with all the exercises. You must be so toned, with all your running. I just do the running and think that that's about all I can aspire to body wise. I shall have to revisit. Even though the shred was very helpful. Was very interested reading about that diet plan in Grazia. The Doukandiet. Pretty much low carb, but seemed doable for 5 days, and then alternate protein and protein and carb days. Agree re the houlihans BTW. I love J brand, but I know that putting pockets on something like that would make my thighs look ginormous. Even Gwen looked bulky, although she is rumoured to be pregnant again.
I am going to Lake Garda to a camping site week after next and have to pack for 5 with 3 x 15 kg bags NY. Will have to get your DH over here! I just thought with 5 carry on bags, that we wouldn't fit more than 3 x 15kg bags into car on the far side! Will be packing very lightly!
Still in bed today, resting. Haematoma still large. Contemplating not going into work tomorrow, which is a big deal, as I can't remember ever taking a sick day before!
Also bought this yesterday. My Dsis bought one and her skin looks amazing! I was very impressed and thought I'd give it a go. Would love to go for botox, but fear the slippery slope and bride of wildenstein look.
