Are white jeans/trousers EVER "in"?

I have just got 2 lovely tunics from White Stuff in the sale- they would both look goood with white or pale coloured trousers or capris.

Is white a bit naff- especially for an "older" person - but is still a size 10!

lotster · 07/04/2010 14:09

Ooh get you Tracey with your bang on trend clogs!

noddyholder · 07/04/2010 14:10

I would love an elfin crop but alas no!I only think they look good on v young v pretty and I am no longer either.I have the footballers wife hair and big glasses to hide behing but do have small feet.I love liz she is living in a parallel universe where all is golden and tanned and nails are glossy and heels high

traceybath · 07/04/2010 14:11

I want a white denim mini for holiday this year.

I am not golden as ran out of st tropez but am slimmest I've been in years - now I am being extremely irritating.

Bonsoir · 07/04/2010 14:11

I've got some pale grey Paul & Joe skinnies and they came rolled up (though you can roll them down too). Cannot do clogs, though - I can't walk far or fast enough in them for my life. And DP hates them .

traceybath · 07/04/2010 14:13

Bonsoir - I really want some pale grey skinnies but keep seeing nasty dirty grey not the lovely silvery grey I'm envisioning.

Will search on paul & joe.

cocolepew · 07/04/2010 14:13

Who cares whether their DPs/DHs like what they wear?

Bonsoir · 07/04/2010 14:15

I saw some lovely grey ones in Sandro yesterday, too. Not sure whether you have Sandro in the UK? Have you tried Comptoir des Cotonniers? They are usually good for grey.

Bonsoir · 07/04/2010 14:15

I think it would be most odd not to care what your DH/DP found attractive on you!

lotster · 07/04/2010 14:16

Paul and Joe is a lovely brand, if your budget won't reach it then Primark are doing skinnies in black, grey, red, blue, white etc for around £8! I got black, grey and white last year and they're all a fab fit, properly skinny but comfy height around the waist.

cyb · 07/04/2010 14:17

Bonsoir, thats a WHOLE other thread....

traceybath · 07/04/2010 14:20

Comptoir good idea - have a lovely top from there which would go brilliantly with grey skinnies.

Lotster - don't have a primark near by unfortunately.

cocolepew · 07/04/2010 14:22

I'm odd.

AnyFucker · 07/04/2010 14:24

I don't want to send this thread off on a tangent, but I am serious when I say I do not take my DH's likes/dislikes into any sort of consideration at all when I buy clothes/shoes/accessories for myself

traceybath · 07/04/2010 14:26

If I try something on and DH says he doesn't like it - I wouldn't buy it. I'd just feel wrong in it really.

However it very rarely happens but I suspect a lot of DH's don't really get fashion and it takes them a while to get used to new looks.

Although - MN's a bit like that too

cocolepew · 07/04/2010 14:27

The only taste my DH has is in his mouth, there's no way I'd listen to him. Not that he ever comments mind.

Bonsoir · 07/04/2010 14:28

Grey skinnies also look fab with a Breton top, or a slightly off white blouse, a little transparent or lacy (think Chloé).

Francagoestohollywood · 07/04/2010 14:29

I can't see nothing wrong with nice white cotton trousers.

Francagoestohollywood · 07/04/2010 14:30

I've just got a great pair of grey trousers at Petit Bateau!

Francagoestohollywood · 07/04/2010 14:32

Me too AF, I'm also quite lucky that dh doesn't hold any opinion on clothes/looks etc.

lotster · 07/04/2010 14:33

Tracey - probably for the best, slave labour etc!!

Don't usually go there but am very pleased as I got a lovely white belted cheesecloth shirt, white lace up canvas pumps and a blue check/floral shirt all for £14! Teamed with some of my nicer pieces you'd never know (as long as I replace the plastic woven belt from the shirt with a nice one).

Francagoestohollywood · 07/04/2010 14:34

. I used to own a perfect pair of white cotton trousers, bought at Stefanel... they looked so Alberto Biani...

Bonsoir · 07/04/2010 14:37

I had perfect white jeans the summer after I gave birth to DD. They made me look like a teenager from behind and a distance .
