LTEC
I like the sound of the Primark skinnies/trench outfit!
Has been lovely weather most of the wek here in Cheshire so have worn quite a few summery things, including this

www.oasis-stores.com/40's-Print-Dress/All-Dresses/oasis/fcp-product/3170069300
which I love!

Quite a few nic edresses in Oais at the moment, saw this

www.oasis-stores.com//oasis/fcp-product/4490085800which is nice also.

Morning - another lovely sunny day here.

Very nice evening last night - wore a white linen dress with cropped denim jacket. But realised as evening progressed that linen just looks so crumpled so quickly.

LTEC - what a pain about Chelsea - any chance DS may be taking a bottle by then at all?

Feeling very fat today after lovely dinner last night and off to make Delia's lemon layer cake for DH in a second - but will not be eating much of it.

notyummy · 18/04/2010 08:31

Hi all - I am back from SCotland (v late last night) and just catching up on everything. Until yesterday the weather north of the border was fab, so I got to wear my new denim shorts and the mooched around in the 3/4 length trousers here that ltec recommended a whilse back. Relaxing breakfasts in friends garden - lovely (well as relaxing as things can be with 4 kids aged 5 and under....)

On that note, all hail those of you with 3 or more. My friend needed to nip into work for a couple of hours as an emergency whilst I was up in Scotland, so I did the decent thing and said 'of COURSE I will look after all the kids. It will be fine.'

4 kids aged 5 and under. The script went something like this:

'Put that down!' 'And that!'
'No, we aren't having another snack right now.'
'OMG!! Get down from the top of that tree.'
Stop poking your sister.
'Do you need a nappy change? Another one??'
'I have already told you about turning round with a big stick in your hand!!'

Will try and catch up properly shortly. Sorry about your ny trip roma and hope you you had a day of special memories ltec

Hi girls

I've gone a bit mad and have just come back from running a 10k race. You will note I'm not one of the healthy A&W ones and never do any exercise. My sister was supposed to be running it & had raised a lot of money for a charity that's very close to our hearts. She has injured her knee so I did it. No training, not run for years. But I did it! I don't really know why but yesterday I just thought "why not". I put my Ipod on & felt really good for most of it. Marathon next week .

Spent yesterday in park picnicking with friends & kids. Five hours of laughing LOs, pink wine and good food. I love summer. Wore new black rolled up chinos from H&M (linen cotton mix-really recommended for 25 quid) with my orange Gap belt, cream & black Breton, denim jacket and gold glads, gold sunnies and a big black and orange cotton scarf I forgot I had. Dp said I looked too smart for the park but I felt groomed. My first sandal outing of the year which is a moment I look forward to. I love glads & find summer footwear so easier to get right.

After my shower, if I can still walk we're off to park next to our house for picnic. Am wondering if it's warm enough for a dress. May just wear new cropped jeans a red tshirt with a diamanté anchor on. I bought it years ago & it was too big but fits perfectly over my new big boobs. I like a bit of diamanté almost as much as leopard print. Must be the Italian in me .

Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

OllieWollieWoo · 18/04/2010 12:53

Very warm here today too. Just had friends over for the morning who have just moved back from NYC (sorry Roman!) They have twin girls who are just beautiful. DSs played really well with them - introduced them to Thomas the Tank engine and cars etc! Very funny!

Looks like my London trip will have to be postponed too - so will console myself with some internet shopping! Speaking of which - DH and I have agreed I need one of these. DSs are just too big to go on the bike seats on my bike and its so much easier to do the whole school run by bike than in the car. They are very popular over here but I still think they look hysterical! Can't wait to get one - friend has one and raves about how light and fast it is!!!
Off on a bike ride now which will hopefully end up at the ice cream shop! Have a lovely day all.

Romanarama · 18/04/2010 14:23

OWW bear in mind that the bike's light... until it's got 2 dcs in it! I guess it's flat where you are, though.

It's also lovely and hot here, though still freezing inside the house! We have been eating Magnum Golds (golden magnets, mummy!) in the garden, while I obsessively check brusselsairport.be for updates!

Very impressed at 10k MM. I keep meaning to take up jogging, but not getting round to it . I even gave up going to yoga classes recently as found that too long winded - more than 2hrs altogether including walking there and back. I thought a morning jog with the dog would be more efficient, but haven't yet bothered to try it.

Find me some glads guys - not rock solid hard flat to walk in - can't face the Antik Batik ones, they look like walking on a plank. And under £100 pref.

Romanarama · 18/04/2010 14:31

Please would you all tell me how your hasbeens size up. I think I might get some in natural, but they only have 39/41 and I'm usually a 40, or even 39.5. Have never bought a 41 anything.

Romanarama · 18/04/2010 14:34

Btw, notyummy I have 3, and now the smallest is 4, it's dead easy. At the moment they're amusing themselves somewhere else in the house and I am reading/websurfing in the sun. Was pretty hard work a couple of years ago though.

LetThemEatCake · 18/04/2010 15:33

well done mm!! and glad you had a lovely eve tb

soooo nice & sunny today. DH working so I took the kids to the park and met up with some friends for a picnic. Just had to come home as, irritatingly, I have been a bit ill the last week (plus L sleeping appallingly atm, which I am beginning to suspect might me my fault what with the restricted diet - what do you think? ) so was freezing cold despite being in the sun!!

Painted fingers & toes with newly-acquired Drama last night in readiness for first glad-wearing of the year. Am in the ubiquitous & bargainous UO navy cropped combats, white tanks, tan glads (£4 from Primark roman, prob a bit too cheap and nasty!!) , a scarf like this and denim jacket. What fun to be wearing summer clothes at last!!

notyummy yes I have 3 under 4 and it is hard work!! Lots of barking instructions and generally feeling like a miserable old naggy fishwife!! However, when I am 40, my youngest will be 3.5 and I am looking forward to still being young, and to them still being young and cute but not quite so high-maintenance.

Speaking of which ... argh ... better go.

LetThemEatCake · 18/04/2010 15:35

oh sorry roman - I am 42 in Choo (comfy) and in CL (uncomfy but il faut souffrir and all that) and the 41 HBs are perfect.

OP posts:
Romanarama · 18/04/2010 15:43

Maybe I'll have a go with a 39 then. What do other Hasbeen owners say? (I have no prob with spending £4 on shoes btw!).

I think a restrictive diet while breastfeeding a baby who's not eating much else is breaking all the rules, and I wouldn't do it tbh. Or at least I'd be v.careful about the kind of restrictions: fine to eliminate junk, but I'd be having plenty of rice, meat and fish, and sensible fats like nuts, avocados, olive oil. Il ne faut pas que le bébé souffre pour que maman soit belle, and all that.....

LetThemEatCake · 18/04/2010 15:55

hmmmm... I don't eat meat. Have been having fish/ avocado three times a week for fats, plus nuts & olive oil or walnut oil every day. Not much in the way of carbs though... and maybe that's the prob. Perhaps will reintroduce at lunchtime, see if it makes a diff. Have to say, the other night, as an experiment, I ate brown rice, mackerel, avocado etc for dinner and he slept from 11-5. Other nights he's waking every 2 hours or so - from being able to go for a 4hour stretch as a newborn

OP posts:
traceybath · 18/04/2010 16:00

Roman - I'm normally a 35.5 and got a 35 in the hasbeens and thats perfect.

LTEC - I do think carbs are important when bf and Bea definitely doesn't sleep/settle as well if I don't eat enough. Although to be fair she seems to be like DS1 - a constant ball of energy who doesn't need much sleep at all.

MM - well done on your race!

LetThemEatCake · 18/04/2010 16:07

okay .. just had bowl of oats, rice milk, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and raisins. Carb me up Scotty!!

eshermummy · 18/04/2010 16:11

Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the sunshine . Not sure if this post will work - am on iPhone on bus on way back from monster shopping extravaganza (all day. No kids!!)
will update as to purchases on my return - MM saw a dress which would be great for the house of Harlow shoes. Will link later although got lots to do this eve before I canter back on. First day back at school tomorrow and DD1 is starting a new school so whole new uniform, p. E. Kit etc plus new girl jitters for both of us.

eshermummy · 18/04/2010 16:13

Canter back on???

Get back on - am not a pony!

traceybath · 18/04/2010 16:21

Esher - how exciting - I love shopping in the sunshine - hey, I love everything in the sunshine.

Oooh new school - good luck to DD and you.

LetThemEatCake · 18/04/2010 16:32

Had only had a banana and a handful of nuts all day before that. Honest.

esher can't WAIT til you canter back on!! yee hah!!

OP posts:
AllBuggiedOut · 18/04/2010 17:26

roman re Hasbeens, I am usually a 39/39.5. I ignored Asos's advice about sizing up as I always find 40 too big. And the 39 is definitely right for me. (peep-toe super highs, btw)

Fleecy · 18/04/2010 17:42

Cake - I didn't think anything of it! Am more that you managed to run around after 3 DC fuelled only by a banana and some nuts!

I tried rice milk for a week recently but I just missed proper milk so badly that I have given up!

Have you found the brazil nuts good for skin? I have tried them after that thread recently. Not sure I'm radiant though sadly!

traceybath · 18/04/2010 17:43

Fleecy - I can safely say the brazil nuts did nothing for my skin either.

LetThemEatCake · 18/04/2010 18:13

fleecy I started eating loads of nuts after having ds1 and doing the Carol Vorderman 28-day detox (hence cutting wheat & meat, although I reintroduced many of the other things like fish when pg with ds2). I have more than 3 nuts a day though! That, plus the Oil Cleansing Method, which I've been on a year now and I can honestly say my skin never better. Don't wear foundation or anything either, although I may be slightly kidding myself about my lack of need for cosmetics

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 18/04/2010 18:59

sounds like an afternoon snack in the hells household .

Though everyone is right LTEC....I suspect you will get much better rest tonight as DS will hopefully full to the brim!

No new A&W contributions from me I'm afraid. Just enjoying the sunshine in my rather lush Helmut lang feather tee-shirt...and bargain UO trousers (thanks LTEC).

notyummy · 18/04/2010 19:06

Are there a couple of people looking for a suitable dress to wear to a wedding?

lovely

i linked to this on another dress thread a few weeks ago and am now insufferably smug that the Times are following my suggestions..

also very pretty

monkeysmama · 18/04/2010 19:58

NotYummy I really like that Farhi dress. I have a rather problem with wearing white and cream though. I always worry I am going to get my period not matter what time of the month it is, or that I am going to sit on something. When I was 17 I went to a christening in a beige dress and came on and it was so awful I'm still scarred in my 30s. I'm easing myself into it with white Baxters as suggested by Tracey. I have a similar dress to the 3rd one too - think it was Topshop a few years ago - navy with golden swallows on it. It was very popular but I love wearing it.

I've just had my third driving license and driven myself home! I am very proud of myself today and am enjoying a lovely glass of red wine to celebrate.

Cakey as you know I bf dd for a long time and definitely noticed a change in her sleep and concentration if I didn't eat enough (or had too much sugar incidentally). I've lost half a stone in less than 3 weeks - obv weight I'd been carrying due to bfing (brown fat do they call it?) as I haven't done anything to shift it apart from my race today & a few feeble attempts at hula hooping. My love of food far outweighs my desire to be slim though. Do you drink a lot of coffee? I found that affected dd too.

Esher looking forward to seeing your links and hearing about the dress. I didn't get time to get to Canary Wharf (can't remember who asked but yes, live nearish) but will go later in week.

Night girls.
