Fleecy, have you looked at the Milly dresses on cocosa? Sale starts tomorrow, there is a one shoulder style that would be right up your avenue, i think, and perfect for the Gozo wedding

here

OllieWollieWoo · 19/04/2010 21:01

Random post - but my sister has just got one of these and I thought how nice it was and something you W&A's would appreciate too - esp if you are pregnant trendy changing bag

Mimi1977 · 19/04/2010 21:25

That's brilliant!! Thanks everyone and thanks for all the congratulations. Just bought a scarf to wear - I like that idea and it will work perfectly!

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 08:38

look here also for the kind of changing bags that make me feel like ttc dc4!

carciofi · 20/04/2010 08:39

Nice bag Ollie.

MM, I like Carciofina, very cute. She is having a party at home this afternoon, eight two yr olds invited, cakes made (ok, bought ) and prosecco for the mums in the fridge. Emilia is more excited by the balloons than the gifts.

Blossoming, I am looking for white and grey jeans so I have convinced myself they don't count as they aren't blue jeans!

Tracey, great shopping on the Temperley dress. I was convinced I'd get a Marc Jacobs bag for £1 so very annoyed to miss the sale. Damn volcano!

bunnymother · 20/04/2010 09:12

Mimi - congratulations! How exciting to be pregnant w another baby! Am currently TTC and am looking forward to feeling that excitement again. Apart from the tips the other ladies gave, I also looked in the maternity section of ASOS and bought a few things there.

Blossoming - hope you can hold yourself back from your ILs a bit so they don't hurt you so much in future.

Carciofi - ooh, another baby birthday - so exciting!

MM - love all those sandal options!

Right, my Little Commandant is complaining...

PlumSykes · 20/04/2010 10:18

Congratulations Mimi, good to see you here - Oushka Phoenix in ash, right?

Do you mainly need to disguise your pregnancy at home, or at work? At work I would think the 'baffle them with layers' technique is best bet. Jersey blazer, vest top, scarf. If it's a more casual and summery look that you're after, I'd guess the empire line dress is your frined (as they make even the leanest of beans look a little pregnant!) Can wear with a fitted denim jacket for extra coverage/bafflement.

As an aside, even with my 2nd pregnancy, I didn't show at all until 5 months, so you might not even have anything to worry about.

Oh everything - thats not the wedding you brought the amazing vintage dress for is it? Hope not. Would be such a shame if you didnt get to wear it

Lovely bags there too Roman. I'm going to get one of these portable blackout blinds - here - last years holiday was a nightmare as the house didnt have curtains or blinds of any sort and the boys rooms had skylights so they were awake til gone 10 and up at 6am! Our spare attic bedroom has yet to get blinds and my Mum goes on and on about it so using this when she vists will keep her quiet too!

Can we talk perfumes today? What do you use? I love fresh/citrussy scents and have been reading about the new Jennifer Anniston one which comes out in June - sounds really good (subtle/natural scent). Read on another thread how good the Liz Earle one is too

roman, I have the il tutto mia in black. It is absolutely stunning, paid for in part by the health in pregnancy grant.
It will be a great carry on/weekend bag in the future I'm sure.
In fact they also do day bags and laptop bags should you wish to explore further!!
Ooh, the sienna accross body in red is a bargainous £99.
BTW, have started reading your idle book recommendation. Thanks for that.

Happy birthday little carciofi. Mmm, prosecco on a Tuesday afternoon sounds fab to me.
Have been reading how not to get fat. So its no sugar and no alcohol. No wonder the scales are so high!

Re scents, I've been wearing Armani Pour Elle for years now. I love it. It's the only one that doesn't give me a headache.

Where's ltec? Hope you're okay.

traceybath · 20/04/2010 12:43

Hi All,

Yes - ltec - where are youoooooo?

Happy Birthday little carciofi!

Perfume - I wear frangipane by chantecaille, l'huere magique by Laura Mercier or in high summer virgin water by creed.

Temperley/Outnet dress arrived and its very lovely. But needs taking up which is fine and is on the small side - definitely not compatible with bf boobs. So good for a £1 but would never have paid full price. Slightly worried the flouncy sleeves make me look broad too . . . hmm

DolceeBanana · 20/04/2010 13:34

Hello girls !

Enjoying the sunshine...

Have had lovely morning with the girls (DDs)- DS at pre-school... and had a lovely friend over with her baby....and we actually managed to have a good old natter...

Baby (7 months) good natured, despite cutting top two teeth!!! I just noticed in a kind of haphazard - 'ooh, you've got some new teeth', way!!! So, not the way it was with the first ! Hey Ho!!!

Perfume - I love Les Merveilles by Hermes, and also quite taken with Vetiver by Guerlain (citrussy)...The latter is actually a man's scent, but I love it and do think some men's scent better...not too sweet.

bunnymother · 20/04/2010 13:37

Perfume - I wear Guerlain perfumes: Samsara, Champs Elysee and L'Instant. Got quite a thrill going into the Guerlain shop on the Champs Elysee, its so lovely (clearly this is pre-DD!)

Tracey - glad the Temperly dress is lovely! It certainly looks it from the link. Think its good to be broader in the shoulders if at all hippy, but not sure if you are. I am a little bit, so quite like a broader shoulder look.

Roma - nice bags. Have they tipped you over into TTC for DC4?

Everything - gosh, that plane had better deliver your DH to you this weekend!! The groom's return journey sounds hair raising and exhausting. Hotmilk bras are brilliant! In terms of treating yourself while your DH is away, it doesn't have to cost, so how about having a liqueur after dinner, reading a book while eating toast for dinner (not cooking our nightly DH-friendly meals ie meat and 3 veg, is a treat for me!!), watching your fave films, having a bath instead of tidying up when DS is asleep. Heaven!

Such greai ideas bunnym. dh is away tomorrow night so may try some suggestions.

traceybath · 20/04/2010 14:01

Everything - you should give him a shopping list of stuff you'd like from the US - keep him nice and busy

bunnymother · 20/04/2010 14:02

It is bloody hard work, isn't it, preparing a meal for DC/s and then man-food?! I love eating alone w DH, so wouldn't change it, but it is an effort. If I didn't have DH to cook for, I would prob only eat soup, toast and Innocent veg pots for dinner. And no doubt be much slimmer!

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 14:05

No, no dc4! DH seems to think he'll be in NY for ever now anyway, so ttc would be a challenge. In his shoes I'd just wait for the flight I was booked on on Saturday - plenty to do in Manhattan after all, even on your own. I think he's not very good at entertaining himself, so is thinking of going to the airport and blagging his way onto a flight. He's waitlisted every day until the weekend.

Tracey if you're not that keen then you could always have a go at ebaying it - you could prob make quite a profit and buy something you like more instead.

OWW that blackout blind looks great, doesn't it? I might buy that too.

AllBuggiedOut · 20/04/2010 14:13

So sorry for all of you affected by the flights

Like your links to the changing bags; am looking for a gift for stylish first time mum, and think the JJ Cole would be ideal.

It's my birthday tomorrow, and as part of my celebrating I'm going to London Friday night to go out for dinner with friends, then have Saturday to do avid and, hopefully, wise shopping. Definitely want to head to Uniglo and Zara, so thinking will do Oxford St. What should I be keeping a look out for? I need everday SAHM with small boys clothes and stuff for Florida in the summer. May have to brave swimwear too...

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 14:15

Everything there are Saks, Bloomingdales, Macys and Neiman Marcus in Las Vegas. Tell him to head to 3200 Las Vegas Boulevard South, (Saks), and he should manage to pick up whatever it is you want

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 14:19

x-posted. Happy bday buggy. If you're going to Oxford St, then I'd brave Top Shop and H&M, if you want high st. stuff. I tend to wear top shop skinnies, and H&M big tees and boyfriend cardigans when I'm with my boys. Florida will be dead casual, and I personally would pack light and buy beach stuff for me and the kids when I got there. Cheaper and more choice.

DolceeBanana · 20/04/2010 14:20

Yes...blackout blinds are an absolute must....!

Yes Tracey ...agree with Roman, if you are not sure about dress I would ebay it! Then you could have £££s to spend on something you really like!

Hope Cakey is fine and dandy - where are you matey? We're missing your input!

We too eat together after DCs as I find if I eat an early supper I am hungry at 8/9 pm. Anyway, I find it relaxing to sit down and have a good catch up with DH sans enfants....although I cook the same thing for the whole family usually....even baby!
