Thanks Vin re Chantecaille - will have a look in SpaceNK.

Oh Cakey, Cakey, Cakey....you-do-not-need-to-lose-more-weight.....!!!! I am positively sure of that!!! Its the bloody weather...with a bit of sun on yer face, you'll feel different. Shame about those jackets...but are you really going to wear Rabbit in Spring/Summer anyway? Send 'em back...

Trench does sound rather lovely - which brand was it btw? Wore mine today - Esher did you ever try Kew mac and if so, wdyt? Happily like mine now I've got used to the more rounded shoulders. Wore with Breton, skinnies and Ash vipers...to...Tesco - I know how to live

Came home to beautifully clean house....thanks to cleaner....so alls well with the world...

traceybath · 14/04/2010 15:09

Marsha - just got email too - I can feel us all getting very hunched shoulders over this. And I bet its a load of ages/seasons old tat they shove up which we will buy in a panic and pay p&p on.

I'm only going to look at bags I think and buy very very quickly.

I wonder if they'll send out emails at different times to people to reduce the likelihood of the site crashing.

Roman - nice buys!

traceybath · 14/04/2010 15:10

Oh and matalan dress arrived and going straight back.

Managed to make me look absolutely vast.

Romanarama · 14/04/2010 15:53

ltec would you link again to the pic of the peacock cake? I told my friend about it and she wants to copy it (flattered?!)

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2010 15:58

Love, love the Zebra top Roman!

Romanarama · 14/04/2010 17:23

It's really nice, it's cut in a big curve shape at the top then fitted at the bottom, so it's loose and voluminous, but then has a shape because of the bottom bit. Hard to describe but it's cool and will be a summer dress for July in Italy by itself and a top for my new white baxters right now. The McQ is going out with my rats and black gina stilettos to somewhere fancy in NYC this Sunday night [really smug!!]

Talking of which, I have 6 entire martini-filled Manhattan nights to think about dressing so had better get started. Was thinking of taking 4 outfits and buying 2, what do you think? Have evening babysitting organised for every day but one; but morning babysitting just once for a grown-up shopping trip, as want to do fun stuff with the dcs in the day rather than sink money into Saks

traceybath · 14/04/2010 17:41

Roman - I think I want your life

blossoming · 14/04/2010 17:41

Sounds amazing roman, have a fabulous time. Glad you like the parka whelk, I've been wearing mine open, with the sleeves up as per the video in this nice weather.
In a sulk today, not even interesting enough to share. Will be back later in a better mood.

Romanarama · 14/04/2010 17:51

ha, ha tracey i read that as I came in from scrubbing a really squishy dog turd off the garden path!!! D'you want that bit too (all glamour round here )

notyummy · 14/04/2010 18:18

I am off to SCotland for a few days! Enjoy your weekend everyone. No one loose anymore weight whilst I am gone - it is just not necessary!

Am busy packing for all clothes eventualities for both me and dd, although weather looks a bit chilly to tbh so I think my maxi is rather optimistic...

xx

LetThemEatCake · 14/04/2010 18:46

ha ha Roman I had that McQ top too (sent it back eventually although loved it and looked fab with rats but couldn't justify) and the zebra has been in my basket since I spied it.

peacock cake here - can scan & send instructions via FB if you want

have a lovely time in Scotland notyummy

ooh vin mi piace that silk blazer!! looks like a wise buy to me

blossoming hope you're okay. Nothing MiL related I hope??

I am knackered after gruelling arvo of softplay. Easter hols = noise levels through the roof = LTEC's nerves shot to hell.

Fleecy · 14/04/2010 20:06

vin love that blazer. My friend is after a very pale pinky nude one so I have sent her a link.

ltec how do you stay so disciplined? I gave up dairy for 4 days before deciding it wasn't worth it. Still wheat-free though but finding that part easy (thanks for the tips!)

Am having porridge and fruit for breakfast, oatcakes with a little peanut butter and some fruit and veg for lunch, rice cakes if I need a snack, small portion of lean meat plus veg for dinner, sometimes with rice. And that feels horribly deprived to me! But it's working - am losing tummy fat to reveal the muscles I've been working to hard to tone. Hoping for some serious results by hols...

notyummy enjoy Scotland.

roman loving the zebra - will you wear it with rats? I am on the lookout for a summery rats top (max about £35 though!) as all my stuff is winter or evening wear.

blossoming · 14/04/2010 20:09

Thanks ltec. have just been for a 4k treadmill session and feel much better.

Went all the way to Chester to find Russell & Bromley not reopening till tomorrow but the shoes in the window!!
Spent a fortune on stuff for dc1.
Went to habitat to spend Xmas vouchers on lovely bedlinen to notice there's 20 percent off starting tomorrow. Of course, spent more than the vouchers.
Just sat down to read fasion section of times to see it was in a pullout, which is missing. Aagh.

Am also reeling at the fact you don't have a mirror. I have to check back view aswell!

I love notyummy's military precision. I want it to catch on, like mitary fitness!

eshermummy · 14/04/2010 20:56

Sorry not been around much - combination of school hols and internet problems - with the topshop website of all things
Anyway, appears to be solved now thanks to the collective power of MN!

So, I think I am going to send back the Outnet E&J blazer that came the other day in favour of the topshop one which is shorter and boxier and not as tailored. I ordered it in both the beige and the black and can't decide which to keep - what do you think ladies?

Also ordered this little sweater from topshop which for some reason am thinking would really suit Tracey. Really lovely on, nice fine gauge knit, cute but not teen, a nod to the nude thing but actually more beige than peach.

This vest also going back whence it came on account of poor fit around shoulders and no stretch content. However, I really loved the colour and would look great with shorts/jeans and these as yet unworn multicoloured glads. Anyone seen a nice bright purple vest?

Dolcee - not tried the kew mac yet - if I can face taking both dds with me then I may pop over to Kew tomorrow and see if I can try. I was thinking maybe would decide the topshop blazer dilemma for me in that if I get the Kew trench in beige then would get the blazer in black iyswim.

Roman - your NY trip sounds amazing

Right am off to check emails to see what the deal on this Outnet £1 sale is.

mrsjuan · 14/04/2010 21:00

No mirrors? I spend half my life in front of mine . My DH, mum & sister (in fact everyone who knows me) always tease me about my mirror routine when I try anything on - front view, back view, side view, other side, repeat on tiptoes, sigh, repeat. Often do photo as well and send it to my sister to get her opinion.

Blossoming - sounds like a frustrating day - grr.

Succumbed to wearing Gap hoodie today due to unwelcome cold weather.

LTEC -Love that peacock cake - does your book have any ideas for a fish / underwater cake?

NY - enjoy scotland - hope the weather holds out for you.

hellsbelles · 14/04/2010 21:16

Just rushing in to say I'm missing you all. Exhausted from work and lack of sleep (DD still poorly) so no time to click on links or shop but I'm looking forward to a catch up session soon (and seeing all the lovely things you clever ladies have found).

Romanarama · 14/04/2010 21:33

omg I am so organised, I have already packed the dcs' suitcase, even though it's about 50 hours until we have to go to the airport. Can you tell I'm excited? It's our first holiday for years that isn't either going in the car or flying short haul to stay with grandparents.

Now, how shall I keep my 8, 5 and 4yo boys entertained for 9 hours in economy class, bearing in mind that dh has conveniently gone to a meeting in Canada so will be doing the whole shebang on a different airline. In club. Including ther return. (I'm actually pleased as he gets so worked up about travelling with dcs that it's totally annoying - much easier on my own). I'm thinking laptop and 8 hours Star Wars straight.

I got a nice navy blazer in Uniqlo when I was in London last week for 39.99. It's obviously not terribly smart, but perfect for that whole jeans, Breton t-shirt thing. I had to buy L even though I'm an 8 - are all their things tiny?

I got a bright purple tshirt in H&M recently Esher I'd be surprised if they didn't have a vest a bit like that, and it would probably be about £5.

Fleecy I'm going to wear the zebra with the rats for now and also as a summer dress. Since I don't have a job to go to I plan to spend most of July in Italy (btw we have a 4-bed house in Umbria/tuscany border with a pool that we rent out if anyone here is interested) where it will be boiling and where it's anyway de rigueur to wear mini-skirts well into middle age. What I'm trying to say is that my massively overpriced zebra tshirt is in fact a very good buy. And I've cut the tag off now anyway.

CHOOGIRL · 14/04/2010 21:43

We should do the W&A meet up in Tuscany! Love the Zebra - it is in my basket now.

Am thinking of a day trip to Milan to do some shopping. Anyone been?

eshermummy · 14/04/2010 22:00

Choo - while you are here, how do you know it's only 1 item pp on the outnet sale? Am sure you are right but I have had my "how to" email today and I don't think it said anything about only 1 item?

PlumSykes · 14/04/2010 22:04

Esh, it says:

"Maximise your chances. Shop Smart.

  1. The deal. You can only buy one item, so focus."
eshermummy · 14/04/2010 22:06
CHOOGIRL · 14/04/2010 22:09

Esher this on the Outnet FB page here. With reassurances that the site won't crash . It's deffo only one item for £1 normal P&P. The time is kept top secret - you will get an email with a link.

PlumSykes · 14/04/2010 22:09

I did EXCATLY the same thing earlier. Was thinking 'why are they all saying one item only? It doesn't say that in MY email. Maybe I am special and am allowed to buy extra.'

Then I read it again.

Fleecy · 14/04/2010 22:16

roman I love the sound of anywhere I can wear a mini skirt for years (not the same one, obviously!) without anyone batting an eyelid. Sartorially speaking, I'm convinced I'm still a 21 year old size 6!

Do you have a link to your holiday home? If so, would you be able to send it to me on FB? We've hired a villa on Gozo for two weeks in September as SIL is getting married there - but would potentially be interested for next summer. Always up for holiday ideas

esher I got my email (and have popped a couple of things in my basket in the hope that maybe one of them will still be in stock) and it said you could only buy one thing for £1.
