MM - have added my thoughts to your mid-heels thread.
Love those Nicole Ritchie shoes (natch). Have not had cause to look for anything dressy for a while so not seen what is out there but lots of one-off frocks on Outnet (yes, I am addicted ). Will have a look for you.

How funny about the M&S singlet - have not tried it yet but it looks like a winner

I wouldn't worry about uniqlo sizing - have to say am interested to see how Tracey gets on with her jeans as the only things I've tried on in uniqlo have been waaay too small although have not tried the jeans.

Blossoming knows about swimming cossies

What about this bag, it is leather

or if that's too big, this one

And this one for Bunny?

Like the seond bag Esher might have to have a look in rl.

Everything I like the new name. I feel a name change coming on too. Though I am definitely the mother of a monkey I made it up for what I thought was a single post about a vaginal sweep 2 years ago.

Anyway, talk to me about hula hooping. I've tried and failed.

CHOOGIRL · 12/04/2010 23:08

MM you need to learn to isolate your muscles and shift your weight. Are you rl hula hooping or doing it on the WII?

monkeysmama · 12/04/2010 23:13

Rl. Have a wii though but only a normal hoop - would a wii be better? You see, I am quite happy with my size but am not a fan of the roll on my belly / muffin thingy that hasn't budged since dd who is nearly 2. Though only stopped bfing 2 weeks ago but now I need to feel like me again and be able to wear whatever I want without thinking about back fat .

WII hula hooping is easier to get the hang of as you don't need to keep stopping to pick it up . I know what you mean about muffin top. My personal trainer recommends 'plank' to tone the muscles and cardio, to burn the fat. My downfall is wine and champagne.

monkeysmama · 12/04/2010 23:24

Mine too Choo. I stopped smoking, I stopped rolling in at 4am after a night dancing, wtf I need something as a vice. Shopping is not enough. Champagne and wine it is. So I need to hula. What is "plank"?

CHOOGIRL · 12/04/2010 23:32

the plank but ensure you suck in your abs and don't arch the back.

AllBuggiedOut · 12/04/2010 23:37

I can WII hula like a pro, but have diastrous abdominal muscles and can't rl hula at all. So I suspect WII hula is a bit of a cheat...

LetThemEatCake · 12/04/2010 23:44

MM I just KNEW it was going to be those shoes before I even clicked the link. Have lusted for ages. So

I am literally buzzing after going shopping, that's so wrong isn't it??

Fleecy how was the party?? and esher most of us have Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache here

I am a co-sleeper too, have been with all of the dcs - I love it. Only prob is that I have no real concept of how much L is feeding during the night - might be good to know as I want to know what I am contending with when I get him to stop!!

MM I also rate the plank, have also got an ab roller here

tried on a pair of lace-up heeled boots in RI tonight - looked great, I must say. Didn't buy as the heel was the same horrible crepe rubber as the sole but I do like the look. Won't be doing the socks though yummy - or 'the sock", if you will, - that's a fashion foot too far for me I think!!

Choo am glad you had a good Zara experience, I am so taken with it again - it used to be my fave high street store pre-kids - cold have happily bought most of what I saw tonight. Recently unearthed the top I bought from there for my 30th - nude & transparent sequins - perfect for this year.

OWW I so know what you mean about the romance of fashion. I quite like those cuffed flats actually but won't be going there, I don't think.

Oh!! Fringed Marantesque boots in Zara. Flat, not cone-heeled but slouchy and not bad. And fortunately not in my size

LetThemEatCake · 12/04/2010 23:49

sorry, will honestly not post again tonight after this

MM - those KG shoes, I saw them in RL and just didn't like them, tbh. Perfect height of heel but too much buckly stuff going on, they were a bit ugly on my feet (wide) but you have narrow feet so would most likely look daintier on you.

Also - tan bag - do you want leather? saw some really nice satchels in M&S tonight for about £50 I think. Although you have a Cambridge one don't you?

OP posts:
monkeysmama · 12/04/2010 23:59

Why didn't you get them Cakey? tbh you & Tracey put me off threads ago bc I thought she had seen them and they looked cheap and you didn't like them. I'm going to buy them then I think.

I have a similar abs roller but have no idea what I am supposed to do with it. I kick boxed at a competition level until my twenties and once I stopped I gave up all exercise .

monkeysmama · 13/04/2010 00:02

My sister has a pure Cambridge satchel. Has to be leather really and little. Like jiffy bag size

LetThemEatCake · 13/04/2010 00:05

argh, me again.

The House of Harlow ones I have always loved - never avail in my size though. The KG ones I didn't like on closer inspection.

Get the Harlows!! It can't have been me who didn't like them. I love them. Everytime I see them in a mag I want to weep with the knowledge that they will never be mine.

Incidentally - yes, I was not a 16 at RI. Bought the 12. Bit loose on the waist but you get that when you are a fat arse pear.

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 13/04/2010 00:06

bag like this?

OP posts:
monkeysmama · 13/04/2010 00:12

I meant the Carvela ones not the HoH. Someone posted link, you considered, Tracey reported back (so I thought) & I didn't get them. Have others considered the HoH shoes & I've missed it and felt all original (well, Grazia original)? What dress can I wear with them?

Re Zara. I've been a fan for years. My favourite piece of clothing in the world I own is from Zara.

LetThemEatCake · 13/04/2010 00:21

remind me of your shape again? quite tall, good legs, big boobs and you don't like your tummy is that right?

so must be able to wear bra, show legs and disguise tummy, is that what we're looking for? what about arms, can you show arms??

Am off to bed but brain is ticking - will be on the case

g'night all

LetThemEatCake · 13/04/2010 00:23

oh - and after all my maxi dress felafeling, if anyone is interested, the one I bought is the 4th pic on the first page of "day dresses" on the RI website. It's ain't the stunning Vix one but nor was it nigh on £200

OP posts:
monkeysmama · 13/04/2010 07:34

I love that dress Cakey!

And yes, you've described me perfectly. Arms are ok and happy to show them off. Legs too. Thank you!

traceybath · 13/04/2010 07:47

Pretty dress LTEC! And brilliant on getting the trousers.

Your Zara haul sounds good too - am going to pop in there on saturday.

This was the blouse I liked in Brora.

Very overcast here today and bothy boys have dodgy tummies so think we'll stay in just in case.

Fel1x · 13/04/2010 08:07

Morning all,
Bad night with DS1, think he has ear infection. He is still asleep in my bed now.
Just wanted to share these ebay hasbeens in case anyone is a size 7 and looking for a pair!!

LTEC your late night shopping haul sounds great. I am going to look out for those trousers, quite fancy something like that myself

Fel1x · 13/04/2010 08:10

Also, I saw a gorgeous tan soft leather satchel bag not so long ago, but cant for the life of me remember where!!! I am thinking hard and hopefully will report back soon

notyummy · 13/04/2010 08:17

Oh the sun is shining here and I am DYING to swish around in one of my (many.....) maxis. However I am at work, and it actually is quite parky out so people may be a bit if I had come in in one today. I can get away with one for work in high summer (if no external meetings then our dress code is pretty much 'wear what you like', but because of a former life in 'business attire only' workplaces I can never bring myself to wear jeans to work...)

Tummy exercises: PILATES. It works. Someone has mentioned the plank, which is one of the key moves. I can very rarely get to a gym so I do a DVD at home this which is quite hard. This combined with some fatburning aerobic work (running is best) and some circuit training should sort tummies out.

Sorry for rambling...I do love discussing exercise (its my 'thing'), but must remind myself that this is the W & A thread.

ltec - well done on the haul. Told you a size 12 would fit you at RI!

traceybath · 13/04/2010 08:17

Felix - poor DS1 - ear infections are horrid.

MM - like the harlow shoes - I also like some of the winter kate stuff too.
