sorry couldn't help myself

OP posts:
traceybath · 06/04/2010 17:04

MM - Hells has this for her mum's wedding and I think it is absolutely stunning.

notyummy · 06/04/2010 18:25

Bugger - just noticed that second one I linked, the DVF, is sold out. I'm not surprised though - it is lovely.

monkeysmama · 06/04/2010 18:25

Thanks for the suggestions.

I think it is Hells that has the grey AMcQ dress too. I actually like the DvF one too but the red Anglomania one is my favourite. Is it ok to wear red to a wedding of people I don't know that well? What shoes etc would I wear? Black?

I do really like the purple dress. How are you styling yours Hells?

Gotta run - dd is going mad.....................

Fel1x · 06/04/2010 18:33

Allbuggiedout - I got my hasbeens from asos. I did see that they said to size up but they only had size 40 not 41 when I ordered and I am normally a 40 so I ordered 40 and chanced it - they fit perfectly!

AllBuggiedOut · 06/04/2010 18:37

Thanks Fel1x. Plumped for my usual size after looking at Swedish website. Can't wait for them to arrive tomorrow!

notyummy · 06/04/2010 19:15

I thought the only colours that were kind of 'off-limits' were black and white.

Anything else is fair game - unless there is a bridezilla who has requested that guests wear a themed colour...

sorry if that includes any of you!

hellsbelles · 06/04/2010 19:19

evening all.

Tracey sorry you had such a tough night. You must be totally exhausted. The bee is so gorgeous and worth waiting for (and obviously more suitable for you with your DD's name)

Alas Selfridges isn't till Thurs. But I can't wait.

Bunny - welcome back - so glad you had a good time.

Dolcee - I'm May so a Taurus hence my 'generous hips and tummy' - and love of indulgence of all kinds!

NY/MM - yes it's me with the McQ and the YSL . I haven't yet worked out how to style the YSL but may give the Selfridges personal shopper the challenge.

I really love the McQ but at the moment I can only wear it with spanx as it's quite unforgiving on the bottom! I find it very flattering though (apart from the 'bottom' issues!)

Evening all

I considered the Burberry trench too, but wasn't sure about the crinkle effect. Has anyone seen it in RL?

Buggied I am a 39.5 and sized up to 40 in Hasbeen. Fit perfectly. I have the sky high peep toe

Dolce I am a Virgo (September) and definitely a person for lists and order.

Have given up on New Atkins - too much of a faff when working full time and only Pret or Eat to choose from for lunch. Still desperate to lose a stone before the sun comes out so may try WW online.

traceybath · 06/04/2010 20:31

SJP is always in her hasbeens - every photo of her I see she's wearing them.

Lordy DS1 is very much at a testing boundaries stage at the moment - must sign him up for tennis next week so he can use up some energy.

Hope replacement cards arrive tomorrow - very much feel I need some retail therapy

MM - I think pretty much everything is fine for weddings now except a long white dress .

Right - off to watch Miss Dahl.

reallygrumpy · 06/04/2010 20:58

Well the M by MJ dress arrived today and its awful! It makes my bottom look twice the size it actually is and I really don't need it to look any larger. The wedding in Italy is now only 3 1/2 weeks away and I still don't have a dress.

But we've finally completed on our new house which is v exciting, it's taken 8 months and 1 sale that we pulled out of.

Any dress ideas? Now that we've got the house (which needs a new bathroom and redecorating) I'd prefer a £ dress to a £££ dress so the fabulous YSL is definitely out.

Moneyspider · 06/04/2010 21:16

Reallygrumpy- fab news on the house. Don't know your specific requirements, dress-wise, but these might get you thinking:

Evening! Just been searching for 'occasion' dresses, and saw that Cocosa are doing a Noli sale tomorrow - there is a gorgeous halter neck maxi dress for £89 there as well as some other nice dresses, but I'm afraid I can't link.

I did go onto the Noli website to see if they were there too, but they're not - but this and this caught my eye.

My toast alexas finally arrived, and I love them, really soft comfy leather. There's something particularly 'gladiatorial' about metallic glads, for some reason! So the summer can now start, I'm ready!

notyummy · 06/04/2010 22:27

moneyspider - great minds think alike! I've already linked to that Very dress - although cant remeber if it was on this thread or not.

notyummy · 07/04/2010 08:49

Bye all! Am off for my break. Should have some deliveries whilst I am away so will update you on my return.

traceybath · 07/04/2010 08:54

Notyummy - have a fab time!

bunnymother · 07/04/2010 09:04

Re packing - came up w system that worked very well in Paris - I put all the things we need to take (for all of us) on the bed, and DH packs the bag. So I know we have everything, and when DH asks "where is [insert every single thing he needs]" I say "you packed". This is the way forward for me, ladies!

Weather is crappety crap crap today so am off to Westfield. Cheering as Uniqlo skinnies are now too big, so going where I have never been before - 26". This is a special day . Will also look at this Phase 8 dress - looks great on the website!

Delie yelling at me so better get busy entertaining our PFB child. I didn't know they could yell at you when only 9 months' old. Lovely.

traceybath · 07/04/2010 09:08

Bunny - well done on skinniness!

I also lay out all stuff and DH packs as he's better at it than me.

Its sunny here - we're off to buy food so DS1 can cookd dinner and I need body lotion - how exciting.

Am hoping postman will bring my new cards today but suspect he won't.

bunnymother · 07/04/2010 09:42

Have a great time notyummy!

Congratulations on your new home reallygrumpy!

Glad someone has some sunshine today, Tracey - enjoy! And glad your purse turned up.

OllieWollieWoo · 07/04/2010 13:49

Very sunny and warm here today. Just spent an hour in the garden tackling post winter carnage with DS1 - no idea what I'm doing mind you - just prune anything that looks remotely dead and hope for the best!

My star sign is Sagittarius - but dont really follow them so no idea what that says about me!

Who was after a cowl neck breton top? Saw one in H&M today - think it was black and white stripe with capped sleeves, nice thin jersey material so the cowl neckline draped nicely iykwim! Enjoy the rest of your afternoons!

AllBuggiedOut · 07/04/2010 14:19

Hi all - that H&M top sounds great OWW.

Hasbeens arrived today. And I think I want what doesn't exist... I think a super high braided would be best for me, but they don't seem to do them. I will practice walking in the sky highs this evening when kids have gone to bed, but not sure I'll get on with them. And the peep-toe super highs are better heal-wise, but not as flattering on my foot as the braided.

Those of you that have the Vero Moda cowl neck, would it suit an hour glass shape? Like it very much, but am worried that the sticky-out pockets would be odd round my hips.

DolceeBanana · 07/04/2010 14:45

OWW - thanks...the cowl neck H&M top sounds good...will check it out!

Apuski - I really like those glads...thinking of getting the natural pair...as I already have metallic flats, but those are gorgeous!

Many congrats on new home grumpy - v v as we've only been looking for 18 months!!!

Tracey re your birthday being 20th Aug, so close to mine!!! My DD1's is 18th...

Right, Kew mac arrived today esher...I quite like it...but slightly rounded shoulders...I just know my DH is going to say, 'Columbo' or something like that but oh well... The shape is a bit different but I shall get used to it! Was cross though because it was v creased upon arrival and will require some 'ironing'!!!

Taupe Ash vipers arrived along with Navy peacoat style mac and both lovely!

I also ordered 2 breton tops from La Redoute of all places (wise, you see!!!)...and ooh la la, Matalan...well, cheapy b/f cardigan; halter neck for summer;some basic navy tees and vests...

Next waiting for new microwave and some white sleepsuits from JL (steady!!!)...How exciting.

Hope you are having a fab time notyummy, Bunny-well done that girl on your superslim physique! Lovely when even the skinny jeans are too big (this hasn't happened to me for a long time!)

I wonder if by mid summer I will be a Hasbeen convert? I'm not so 'aargh...no way', as I was....who knows?

DolceeBanana · 07/04/2010 14:48

That's a boyfriend cardigan btw, not breastfeeding !!

traceybath · 07/04/2010 14:50

Grumpy - congratulations on new home. I don't think we'll end up buying until end of thise year - all our money ends up in DH's business.

Dolcee - ds1's birthday is the 13th august although he was due on my birthday. We got married on the 18th so august is a lovely month for us

Glad you like most of your purchases. Just flicking through grazia and there's a nice trench from French Connection - will see if I can find it on their site. Right - off to check on flapjacks - its a Miss Dahl recipe so intrigued as to whether it will work or not. Huge amounts of honey so not exactly slimming.

traceybath · 07/04/2010 14:51

FC mac but blimey its practically Burberry prices.
