Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
traceybath · 24/03/2010 20:31

MrsJ - did I notice you on a diet thread earlier? I'm pretty much where I want to be although another couple of pounds would be ideal to lose pre-holiday. God - how badly constructed was that sentence!

Think I may order the mint jeans . . .

I know I've mentioned ten million times how bored I am of my winter clothes but anyone else finding it hard to get dressed in the mornings with any enthusiasm - am going to wear breton top tomorrow and pretend its spring.

carciofi · 24/03/2010 20:37

MM, sorry to hear of your loss. My friend's mother is really ill and hasn't long to go. My mother died of the same disease, it is just so sad.

LTEC, I really love the APC blazer and think it will stand the test of time so therefore worth every penny.

I ordered this www.shopbop.com/white-rugby-stripe-blazer-splendid/vp/v=1/845524441862260.htm?fm=search-shopbysize on Sat and it arrived today, pretty impressive delivery time and I think it will look good with jeans.

Tracey, Whistles had nice grey skinny jeans, or there is always Current Elliot from Revolve!

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 20:38

I wore my Breton top today! Sod it!!

tracey you aren't going under 7 are you???

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 20:41

Yes - need to lose a bit of chunkiness. Need to lose about half a stone. Getting a stone off would be great - think I would actually be thin then.

But I did get called stylish yesterday Would never have happened pre this thread so anything is possible!

Fleecy · 24/03/2010 20:46

I got 12.

I really like those skinny jeans in nude - but like you MrsJ I think my legs are just a bit bigger than the model so I'll have to give them a miss!

traceybath · 24/03/2010 20:47

LTEC - I'd quite like to be 7 exactly but no less - I just have this stubborn band of fat around my hips - anyone know how you get rid of that?

I'd still be within normal bmi so not underweight.

MrsJ - I always think you sound very stylish.

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 20:50

Wow tracey -you must be so tiny.
Am not naturally stylish! But it is coming slowly. A bit of bravery goes a long way!

carciofi · 24/03/2010 20:50

Hells, I love the YSL dress, so gorgeous!

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 20:52

Mrs J, I need to lose half a stone to be thin, I think. Am slim at the moment. Not good enough!!

But .. have been juicing all week and just fell of the juicing wagon to have a bowl of steamed green veggies. Now feel like I have pigged out. So it's happy days when veggies make you feel gluttonous. No chance of going near a chocolate

Lovely to be called stylish, how fab. I got told that I looked like Nicole Pussycat yesterday. The complete antithesis of stylish

That band of fat only ever disappears for me when I am running almost daily, tracey.

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 21:00

I think you are thin LTEC - half a stone would make you skinny - semantics matter! it's like the eskimos having so many words for snow.

Do you go to he gym Tracey? I used to find the classes where they exercised with weights (bodyzone etc) good for shifting the fat. Also trampolining but guess that is a bit specialised.

I just need to get into the zone of not eating crap- once I am there I can do it.

Fleecy · 24/03/2010 21:04

Ooh MrsJ I have been doing a dancey class twice a week but that wasn't enough so have just started doing pump circuit which is circuit training with weights so hopefully that will do it.

I also have half a stone to go to be slim but could probably afford to lose a stone. Am okay as is, just a bit bigger than I would like around tops of thighs and tum!

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 21:07

Yeah -that will do it and building up muscle means that you burn off the cals more quickly.

I would love to do a dance class - am still in the pre teen phase of trying to learn dances (unsuccessfully) from mtv

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 21:08

skinny, then. I want to be skinny

Carciofi, I'm sorry you lost your mother.

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 21:10

-just be careful

Fleecy · 24/03/2010 21:18

I can't dance at all - unless someone tells me what to do, then I'm fine

Glad to hear the pump circuit should help. It nearly kills me! Hooray for burning calories more quickly!

Moneyspider · 24/03/2010 21:19

Me likey maxi but for two hundred English pounds, I expect a silk mix at the very least. Harrumph.

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 21:27

I think I'll start doing one again Fleecy - I did once twice a week for a few months before my wedding. Pain was totally worth it.

mm - sorry to hear your sad news - hope things are on the up for you soon.

Carcofi - so sorry that you lost your mum and that your friend is going through the same

And blossoming - I didn't get a chance to say on the old thread how sorry I was to hear about your beautiful daughter - hope it's not insensitive to bring it up again now

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 21:29

interval training is my new thing. I'm still running several times a week, but a couple of those runs involve choosing a good stretch of path at the park, sprinting it in one direction and jogging back. Over and over and over.

I can't do classes, I can't bear to be around other people when I exercise. i need my space.

spider that dress, in its shorter version, has been linked to before. I love it, even more so as a maxi. But yes, the ££ is exorbitant for what it is (or is not)

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 21:32

oh carci! Just scrolled back and saw your post. Am so sorry about your mum and her friend both. It must be bringing back very sad memories for you, watching her go through that.

The blazer is very nice indeed.

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 21:33

hana -well done! You've been after some of them for ages haven't you?

Really LTEC? I am the opposite - think it is the competitive aspect (even if it's not supposed to be competitive - I always have to try to be the best )

reallygrumpy · 24/03/2010 21:47

As the subject's turned to exercise, I need some advice on running gear. DH and I are doing a couple of 'fun' (ha ha) runs over the next few months cos we're trying to get fitter. It's part of my campaign to get fit, lose weight and (hopefully) finally manage to get pregnant again.

The first one is a 5k in a couple of weeks and then we're doing a 10k 2 months later. Anyway my running gear is all pretty old and tatty so I went to the running shop today but everything was so tight (as in meant to be tight, not tight cos I was trying to squeeze into a smaller size) that I looked like a beached whale. I've been trying to find some potentially more flattering running gear online and thought these or these plus a slightly looser top like this or this might work. What do you think?
