faustina they are gorgeous
I got everything I ordered except one thing.
Hope they are better quality than the sheepskin boots, I sent them back as I didnt think they were worth £43, never mind £85!

Mumsnut · 28/01/2010 13:19

Mine has arrived.

Memo to self: always order one size up in Toast, even shoes.

Shearling jacket good, tall emu boots so narrow my foot won't go down never mind my actual calf, moccasin boots v v narrow too. Paysanne shirt fine, sequin waistcoat moulting even in its wrapper.

Waistcoat and moccasin boots going back. Will keep shaggy boots because I can wear them turned down and I think they will get more forgiving as the very thick sheepskin lining flattens with wear.

PoppityPing · 28/01/2010 14:23

Mine arrived too, the tunic is very dissapointing. Bland colour and no weight to it at all. It feels like something from Peacocks.

The boots are a good fit and lovely quality, but tbh I'm not sure about them. I have spent most of mylife in Jodphur boots and that's all these are really. They look a bit quirkier in the picture.
I need to try them on with trousers though.

FA, let me know if yours are no good, as I think it's fairly likely they will be going back.

PoppityPing · 28/01/2010 15:07

They have free post now. There is nothing I want left. Bah.

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 16:09

Hi Poppity,

Oh what a shame you don't like the boots...is the toe kind of less rounded than in the picture? Mine were despatched Tuesday apparently but haven't turned up yet...are you Ok to hang on for another day? Please feel free to send them back straight away if it is more convenient for you, I'm sure they'll come back into stock at some point if other people are disappointed too!

Will update as soon as anything arrives.
Mumsnut, was it those shaggy white boots? I pondered over those, they look marvellous but I am too shy and my legs are too fat I think to draw attention to in that way

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 17:34

Ok, they are here..have only unpacked boots as chaotic house this evening

The blundstones are great, BUT they say they are a size 9??? I ordered a 42 and these are HUGE with no mention of 42 anywhere, so I wonder if they sent a 9 as some kind of approximation

Poppity I wonder if yours are an 8? How did you find the size?
If you are willing after you've tried them with trousers, I'd be very happy to buy them from you as I'm certain Toast are getting these back!

But if you decide you want them it's fine, I shan't be upset. The Andalucian ones are SUPER and really good quality which tbh they didn't look in the picture.

So have got my fix!

Cyb · 28/01/2010 17:44

Flight I ordered size 42 slippers and they are HUGE too, but as they are slip ons I didn;t worry. They are def more like a 9 I think

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 17:44

Looking at their shoe size chart, I can see why 42s were still in stock for ages...they do equate it with a 9.

Oh dear
Well if anyone neds a size 9 pair let me know...!

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 17:45

Cyb hope they are fine. You could machine wash them and see if they shrink

PoppityPing · 28/01/2010 18:13

Hi FA, still haven't managed to try them with trousers, I'll let you know once I have.

I ordered a 41, mine say 8 and then either 6 or 9 on the bottom as well , so not sure.

I am a good 41 normally, sometimes 42 depending on the make/shape and these are exactly right for me.

I do like them, but they are so similar to my everyday riding boots, and also my work boots, that it just seems a bit odd. They are a bit more stylish I guess, but in the picture they looked more so. Perhaps they would wear well, they look so jaunty in the photo.

oldenglishspangles · 28/01/2010 18:17

Flightattendant you have just ruined my evening Anyone with a pair or Andalucians in a 42 that hates them let me know pretty please

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 18:19

thanks Poppity,

that's kind of you...no rush. I thought these were a mens style which is why I suppose I assumed it'd be an 8, on their size chart it says a mens 42 is an 8....

I remember ordering some once from Blundstone website (about 8 years ago?) and they were also less rounded and jaunty than I had imagined...thought these might be a diff style...anyway, am worried about the silver heels now in case they are too big too!

Bother. What a wasted opportunity! Next time I'll know

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 18:22

Oh I am so sorry Oldenglish

I am wearing them now trying to decide if they will be Ok with some insoles...I adore them BUT they are still a bit slippy, not anywhere near the blunnies but still capacious.

Are you more a 42 or 41...I'm like Poppity, usually get away with 41 but sadly took the wrong side of cautious approach when ordering!
If they are still dodgy with insole, I'll let you know I promise.

I wish you had wanted the blunnies

oldenglishspangles · 28/01/2010 18:33

'i am wearing them now' ... thanks for rubbing that in I am normally a standard have got a pair of 9's from next that are just about wearable. i have a wide foot so often that is my saving grace when trying a 9. I didnt see the blundstones I have quite a slim heel and ankle so have been desparate for a decent laced boot. What are the blundstones like? Are they big all over?

oldenglishspangles · 28/01/2010 18:37

standard 8 should read.

Mumsnut · 28/01/2010 18:46

Yep FA, the shaggy white boots. My legs are fat too but the boots are a laugh (and a change from all the UGGS and UGGalikes on the school run).

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 18:57

OES, the Blundstones are like a chelsea style boot, with elastic panels...they are like a mens 9, in fact they are...it says on the box, UK9, USA mens 10.

I just had a mini scrap on the phone to toast insisting they had sent me a mens boot, in the wrong size, and would they please send a returns label because I don't think it was my mistake this time!

They were saying it's a womens boot but it has no US womens size (just blank space) and being the 500 is a mens boot anyway.

Feel guilty now

Anyway, yes they are big all over and I think if a womens 9 is a bit big for you these would definitely be too large.

I really could have done with some, I do a lot of outdoor stuff and my rigger type boots got silly so I gave them away, they were quite knackered.

thisisyesterday · 28/01/2010 19:02

hmm i placed an order which said it had gone through, but i didn't get a confirmation e-mail and nothing has arrived yet!

Mumsnut · 28/01/2010 19:03

Do not feel guilty! That is p*-poor service.

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 19:03

They said when I rang that they were a bit behind TIY - my second order (same day placed) was being packed today, while first one arrived this evening. So don't give up.

Mumsnut · 28/01/2010 19:04

p*, even ...

oldenglishspangles · 28/01/2010 19:06

FA it was an honest mistake, and not surprising from the sound of the size of them. Its really helpful when sites put notes by their stuff to say order a size up or down or that its a 42/9. Thats the problem with being an 8 sometimes it is a 41 and sometimes a 42. That doesnt seem to be the case with other sizes unless I am mistake. Shame they sound nice but I do struggle with chelsea boot styles. dodgy feet oh woe is me. In the unlikely event you change your mind about the andalucian lace ups let me know. On the outdoor stuff - it really hard to get good boots isnt it.

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 19:07

Thanks Mumsnut, to be fair they have been great in other respects and I appreciate it was an error on their part but you would think having sold these for several seasons now they would realise they were getting huge amounts of returns due to them being , erm, a bit too big

Their OWN size chart says that a mens 42 is an 8

they just arbitrarily decided that these are womens, and now I have no boots

(only kidding PP!! I'll find some on ebay for sure)

Flightattendant · 28/01/2010 19:09

Thanks OES,

btw are you aware the andalucian ones aren't actually lace ups?

They have a zip on outside, plus little brass studded flap to cover it but cannot be arsed to do them up

They are not very narrow style, my feet are wide and that aspect is fine.

The polo boots have elasticy little laces but were 177 quid and have all gone now...I liked those a lot.

oldenglishspangles · 28/01/2010 19:10

They are starting to trickle on to ebay now the toast boot with considerable mark ups [ angry]
