Nooka No central heating or tv? We may have grown up in the same house. My parents' clothes could be described as 'sturdy indefensibles', a phrase I believe Winston Churchill used about something else entirely...

oh alright then fanny, we all have Schoffel jackets and they are not that cheap I suppose but I really don't think anyone ever looks at them and thinks: my that's a posh jacket. They are just waterproof anoraks in dark blue basically. However, I'm with you on the tweed engine driver style hats in that link. No idea what that is about but I can safely say our house is free of Schoffel tweed knickerbockers and olive green crumpled look shooting jackets.
