emr those mustard jumbo cords.....Boden my lovely from about 5 years ago.

Don't forget those red jeans that fade to pink in the wash too!

andgodcreatedwoman · 11/10/2009 17:00

NyeEve, don't hate me but I love those boots!

I agree with everthing else you say though.

You're forgetting the checked shirt/tweed tie combo for the men in the mustard cords.

bodycolder, sorry, I hate those shoes!!!

Megglevache · 11/10/2009 17:00

it must have been Hampshire.

DarrellRivers · 11/10/2009 17:02

DH has somehow got on the mailing list for some tweed mail ordering company, the catalogue had real shooting tweeds, plus fours and scary bright tweed trews for ladies to walk in
Am off to search for it
House of Bourg or something

DarrellRivers · 11/10/2009 17:04

voila, house of bruar, most fascinating

DarrellRivers · 11/10/2009 17:05

All he did was buy a boden stripey shirt and some TM Lewin shirts
He has never been near the country

bodycolder · 11/10/2009 17:05

Gorgeous and better than asdas offerings

andgodcreatedwoman · 11/10/2009 17:05

£395 for a coat??!! And a shite one at that.

andgodcreatedwoman · 11/10/2009 17:06

Bodycolder. Don't do it.

ZZZenAgain · 11/10/2009 17:06

i wouldn't look any good in those shooting tweeds. Quite like the kilt - in a different colour maybe

Come to think of it dh has some of those baggy mustardy cords (eek!)

Morosky · 11/10/2009 17:11

We ave just got in from the Cranborne wood fair and I found myself eyeing up someone in a full tweed shooting outfit, I am in need of a good slap. I will be voting tory next.

My new church is full of men in tweed and cord.

Drayford · 11/10/2009 17:12

It's House of Bruar - quite ghastly, but my DH has bought tattershall shirts and breeks from them for shooting, and (in their favour) they do sell NYD Jeans.

I must admit to wearing a quilted lavenham jacket on the my farm - but it is covered in cow poo and dog hair. Perhaps I should wear it on the school run.

bodycolder · 11/10/2009 17:13

I already have v similar in grey! traditional english tailoring is very stylish Vivienne westwood does it brilliantly.

DarrellRivers · 11/10/2009 17:14

'Tis true
House of Brohah is the catalogue for the wannabe Tory MP and wife.
Round necked jumpers, frilly collared shirts, pearls
Takes the right type of man to carry it off though, you need to know how to kill your dinner.
DH would fail miserably on this front, although I reckon Expat could be relied on to catch her own dinner (perhaps not in tweeds though)

Heated · 11/10/2009 17:14

Was in the members section at a county show in August and have never seen so much concentrated Joules & brown tweed.

DarrellRivers · 11/10/2009 17:16

And I do love tweed, Harris tweed in particular, I have a gorgeous Ronit Zika harris tweed coat with a liberty print silk lining that I am going to leave to my grandchildren.
And riding gear, some people look hot in it, and some, not.

Morosky · 11/10/2009 17:20

I am also a lover of tweed, treasure my pearls but a tory MP would run a mile from me ( I hope )

bodycolder · 11/10/2009 17:22

harris tweed is lovely

TheBolter · 11/10/2009 17:23

My grandma was the real life embodiment of these two

God rest her soul

DarrellRivers · 11/10/2009 17:24

Also have pearls , barbour and hunters.
All in retirement from days of sloane school
University opened my eyes to fashion thank the lord, although still have a few wannabe grunge years to hang my head in shame over

NancyBotwin · 11/10/2009 17:25

Were you at the same place as me last night? Saw a "chap" in mustard yellow trousers, reddish jacket with a yellow hanky with red spots in the pocket!

MarshaBrady · 11/10/2009 17:25

Sounds like me and my friends at 16.
Bad jeans, frilly collars, liberty print, brogues, scarves, pearls, jackets and velvet alice bands. Weird.

Would love to see it again on the middle-aged, need to find a place where they congregate..

DarrellRivers · 11/10/2009 17:28

You can wear it at 16.
Looks bad mid 30s.
Although was delighted to see brogues and penny loafers making a fashion bid again, am dashing off to buy some
Will miss out on the brown velvet hair band!

DarrellRivers · 11/10/2009 17:28

Although do feel like a new tweed coat , and did eye them up in House Of Bruar
