your birthday outfit is beeeeeautiful
where will you be wearing it? somewhere fancy I hope!

the duvet coats are all horrid though, sorry!

CHOOGIRL · 15/09/2009 21:04

Made the mistake of getting on the scales this morning Still nothing to wear to this christening.

On the bright side IO Cardie arrived beautiful, but needs to go back as it is too large.

SpringySponge · 15/09/2009 21:13

I think spending your HIP on beautiful things is the only way. Having a baby means giving up your body for 9+ months - which is fine, but there should at least be fashion at the end of it!

SpringySponge · 15/09/2009 21:15

What is bad is that I really do need a coat - I only have one coat & it's a maternity one. But I wouldn't spend that much on a coat even though I'd wear it every day & it would be practical. I would, however, spend that much on those shoes.

If only coats could be so inspirational.

LetThemEatCake · 15/09/2009 21:20

SpringySponge, you are my kind of lady

allaboutme: prob just a party at my place, will need to be available to bf the new baby if needed!!

Choogirl - I see your encounter with the scales this morning and I raise you ... 12 stone 7!!!!!

are you going to get the smaller IO cardie? isn't it gorgeous.

Now. This christening. Let me look. You need something with sleeves, right? Or something that you can wear your DKNY over? What size are you, M?

OP posts:
Zembo · 15/09/2009 21:37

Cake - just to let you know someones selling the dead animal coat on ebay a bit cheaper if you're interested - £186.

CHOOGIRL · 15/09/2009 21:59

Yes size M for me. Sleeves or something I can wear DKNY over would be fab. I also don't really want to buy shoes - I have louboutins in black and brown

LetThemEatCake · 15/09/2009 22:19

oh thanks Zembo! I think I'll just go with outdoorkit though - fast delivery, easy returns and all that jazz ... ebay sometimes more hassle than its worth .. .plus dh wants a new winter thingy too, so we may as well order together when he gets home from yoga tonight (don't laugh, he had a knee reconstruction and can't do any exercise that's not sensitive new age now LOL) and pay one set of delivery charges.

Choo - have you looked on my-wardrobe? I'm sure you have but we could always do what we did with the VWA dress again only one left in a 38 .....!!! is black off limits at a christening? It's not solid black ... forgive me if it's totally wrong as am not used to looking at clothes to fit boobs larger than a B cup!!

OP posts:
CHOOGIRL · 15/09/2009 22:33

Ooh - that's nice wonder why I didn't see it on my-wardrobe. Let me have a sleep on it.. early flight in the morning, and I shouldn't really buy anything when I've been in a bad mood

Sending you lots of good clothing karma

LetThemEatCake · 15/09/2009 22:41

no worries, just let me know .. I can get right on it. Hope tomorrow is a better day

Clothing - Women's@bThe North Face|0|user||14| this looks good too.

CHOOGIRL · 16/09/2009 11:12

LTEC Have slept - now awake in a different city to the one I woke up in at 4.30 am. Feeling much better. Have emailed you...

LetThemEatCake · 16/09/2009 15:33

that is rather nice, spacebar - doesn't even look like a waterproof!

however, dh bought the Arctic Parka last night and I should have it by the weekend - will report back

Choogirl - sorted! about to email you

OP posts:
Romanarama · 18/09/2009 09:22

Spacebar, I've just bought that one. I will report back too.

brokenspacebar · 21/09/2009 21:31

So have the North Face parkas arrived? I want to know if they are any good!

LetThemEatCake · 21/09/2009 22:01

Yes, mine arrived within 48 hours - service!!

It's great - love it. Haven't had much cause to wear it yet thanks to this warm weather... not that I'm complaining

OP posts:
brokenspacebar · 21/09/2009 23:15

Cheers LTEC, what do you think of the sizing, is it fitted or roomy? Is it down to your knee?

LetThemEatCake · 21/09/2009 23:28

It just does up over my 39.4 week bump- only just and only with a fair bit of pull on the pockets- so think fit nicely and with room for layers/ movement after this week. Comes maybe 2-3 inches above top of knee, I am 5 foot 10". Nice shape, does not feel swampy or Micheliny!

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 21/09/2009 23:30

I bought a size M by the way

OP posts:
brokenspacebar · 22/09/2009 12:45

I am tempted by it LTEC...but now I have seen some Didriksons coats that I like, so I am not sure what to go for.

sazm · 22/09/2009 13:14

i bought my dd a didriksons coat which i loved, it fell apart very disappointed
luckily i didnt pay full price as it was meant to be £50 (age 3)

brokenspacebar · 22/09/2009 13:45

That is a shame sazm - I have Didriksons waterproofs for dd and ds, the ones that are a bit like oilskins, came with waterproof dungaree type trousers, they have been good.

tiredoftherain · 22/09/2009 14:08

I've just bought an actual Puffa one and it's lovely. Gorgeous soft fabric and not too bulky. Got one in dark navy and one in charcoal I liked them so much

MarshaBrady · 22/09/2009 14:14

Look at this puppy.

Here's one that will keep you warm.

Like a duvet wrapped in slick stuff.

Not keen on the brick like pattern on it, but the you could fall asleep while pushing the swings with that collar like one does with an aeroplane neck thingy.

sazm · 22/09/2009 16:08

brokenspacebar thats what i bought for my daughter, she had turquiose ones with silver spots!
