Shallow I know, but Sarah Brown has appalling dress sense and a terrible figure.

if you "couldn't care less what people look like" moondog, then why the fuck did you start this thread you hypocrite? you are so full of shite.

MintyyAeroEgg · 02/04/2009 21:31

Anna - I usually quite like the maverick poster, the lone voice standing up against the tide of opposition, the poster who bravely says whatever they hell they like because they don't conform and they aren't scared.

But, honestly, you are making a TIT of yourself tonight.

LadyG · 02/04/2009 21:31

Did you not say you were a torygraph reader Moondog?
And Anna please please can you go and find another site that suits you better-smugmamansnet or I'vehadababybutamstillasize8net or some such?

NotanOtter · 02/04/2009 21:32

and at no point have i commented on anyones weight

I am a size 10 and can look rubbish in some ill fitting stuff

Spero · 02/04/2009 21:33

Notanotter, the difference now is that we have got the vote.

Sadly, women in politics still appear relegated to the fashion parade so that other women can mock them, then claim that any of us who find this repulsive only do so because we are 20 stone wildebeeste.

I repeat; we are our own worst enemies.

moondog · 02/04/2009 21:34

Yes Lady I did.
Reading a paper does not automatically mean one is a card carrying member of a political party.

I honestly thought she looked ok! She's in her mid to late forties and has had 3 pregnancies in the last 6 yrs.

MintChocAddict · 02/04/2009 21:35

Anna - Perhaps all the people critising this thread don't in fact have hang ups about their own appearance, but instead recognise what's really important in life, and are not anywhere near as self obsessed as you appear to be.
Has that ever crossed your shallow little mind?

muffle · 02/04/2009 21:35

I like Sarah Brown too - she looks human - you can always see what she's really thinking on her face (or imagine you can) and it's something funny and warm.

I don't think her weight's an issue. But I do think she often looks a bit uncomfortable in her clothes and that there may be things that would suit her better and make her look more elegant and relaxed. But it's hard to do. I love my own everyday clothes, the ones I choose, but for formal occasions I almost always balls it up - I cannot do elegant/smart properly, it's just not me. When I see Sarah Brown at a formal occasion looking a bit awkward I just think "I know how she feels".

Some people are born with it, like Helen Mirren who always looks totally beautiful, chic and relaxed. Some aren't.

moondog · 02/04/2009 21:36

Donnie,I don't but I (and everyone else in the entire world) has an initial visceral reaction to the sight of someone.

In my case it was 'terrible figure, vile dress'.

piscesmoon · 02/04/2009 21:37

I don't know why it bothers people-it doesn't matter in the least. She isn't unhealthily fat and it isn't her job to be a clothes horse. If she suddenly lost weight people would criticise, if she spent a lot of time and money on appearance she would still get criticised. She can't win.

Spero · 02/04/2009 21:38

Moondog, really, everytime you see someone you have a 'visceral' reaction? Must make daily life quite exhausting.

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 02/04/2009 21:38

hey look guys it's all relative. don't compare your priminister to Sarkozy or Obama.

COmpare him to this mooby bullfrog

the moob and mrs moob

SparkyFartDust · 02/04/2009 21:39

Anna, again. You have made me laugh for the crapness and shallowness of your post.

donnie · 02/04/2009 21:39

er...no, they don't - or do you have some kind of scientific proof of that?

your damage limitation ain't working. Why don't you post a picture of yourself so we can all pick it apart then - put your money where your gob(shite) is.

NotanOtter · 02/04/2009 21:39

Elizabeth I ruled the country Spero

MY EYES MY EYES

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 02/04/2009 21:40

Nobody sane ever thought that Sarah browne was going to turn herself in to a clothes horse. She may not be confident in public, but she's confident.

LEAVE her alone!!

moondog · 02/04/2009 21:41

Of course I do.

She looks tired
What fantastic earrings
Oooh, he's nice!
Fantastic legs
Huge arse
She's wearing a necklace like mine
Could do with a polish and scale
Lovely shimmery eyeshadow

Do you not thrn Spero?

OP posts:
Spero · 02/04/2009 21:41

NotanOtter, o how silly of me. Of course! Female queens! Everythings okay then.

why on earth did we bother chucking ourselves under horses to get the franchise, would have been much better off spending our time shopping and doing important womanly things like that.

Spero · 02/04/2009 21:42

Moonday I thought visceral refered to a twisting feeling in the gut. I certainly don't have that or my walk to the tube every morning would be blardy tiring.

I rarely register more than a mild 'mmm!' or 'urrg'.

donnie · 02/04/2009 21:43

anyway this thread is almost as nasty as the 'I wish Richard Hammond had died' one. Which I believe was courtesy of the same poster.

traceybath · 02/04/2009 21:43

Sarah Brown looks uncomfortable in my opinion. Just as i do if i put on something that doesn't fit or i suspect isn't very flattering and i don't have all that media attention.

I don't see that caring about looking nice and all that entails and being intelligent/a feminist are mutually exclusive.

Spero · 02/04/2009 21:45

Traceybath, I don't think anyone is saying that you can't care about your appearance and be intelligent.

I'm just concerned that appearance is all that women are being judged for, and by other women as well. That's what is sad.
