Shallow I know, but Sarah Brown has appalling dress sense and a terrible figure.

Look it's in STYLE

there is GOOD STYLE and BAD STYLE

there is much over-reacting here

pramspotter · 02/04/2009 20:15

I think Sarah looks lovely. What is the point of this stupid thread?

morningpaper · 02/04/2009 20:19

^^^^^
IT'S IN STYLE

SobranieCocktail · 02/04/2009 20:23

MP - according to Moondog's title she has a "terrible figure"

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 02/04/2009 20:23

Agree 100% with your post Minty and it is warming to see such hideous views challenged.

However, I hate the thought that one or two posters could see me at a meet up and sit in the corner giggling and bitching about my weight and nasty dress sense. Which is exactly what is happening here.

Ohforfoxsake · 02/04/2009 20:24

SO WHAT?

Telling someone they need to lose weight is out of order. OK, a bit of a dodgy outfit might be fair comment, but its too personal. Most of us could probably do with losing a bit of weight, we don't need to be told about it.

MintyyAeroEgg · 02/04/2009 20:24

I'll come and sit in the fat corner with you Jacqueline .

me too. god this is depressing.

kittywise · 02/04/2009 20:31

They both look silly.
Sarah Brown's clothes are too tight MO looks plain daft.

SWMNBF · 02/04/2009 20:32

Not from Stephanie, MP, From Bessie Busybody or whatever she's called, Sportacus' secret mother, with the Mr Whippee hair.

NotmyELFtoday · 02/04/2009 20:33

I love the last comment on the DM article:

Wow, Sarah Brown is hot...I don't know about the Bristish media but I thought she was a total babe.

Lazycow · 02/04/2009 20:36

This is in style yes and comments about the outfit not being flattering are fine.

I object to the - "FGS woman, lose a bit of weight"

She actually doesn't NEED to lose any weight. She only needs to lose weight if we agree that as observers we must never be subjected to the terrible ordeal of having to look at a slightly rounded belly on the wives of oue of our elected representatives (I admit I use the term "elected" loosely)

I personally am not so fragile as to be majorly upset by SB's slight pot belly.

SparkyFartDust · 02/04/2009 20:36

I find some of the attitudes expressed here loathsome.

I don't enjoy reading/ hearing people make value judgments about others.

However, it's my opinion that it says more about the person making those judgements than the person they are aimed towards.

Anna's post,' Beautiful and intelligent is the real feminist way to go' made me laugh as I thought...'you must be being ironic' (please tell me you are?).

Moondog- you are right, you have been incredibly shallow. Shallow and nasty.

LooptheLoop · 02/04/2009 20:39

Very shallow. Pathetic post Moondog.

CrushWithEyeliner · 02/04/2009 20:39

She is awfully unattractive; very, very plain lady there isn't much she can do tbh

JuxaLOTmoreChocolate · 02/04/2009 20:43

I don't know why it matters? Why would you waste time worrying about things like what someone is wearing? IMO I think op is trolling, but with refreshing honesty (by not name changing I mean).

expatinscotland · 02/04/2009 20:45

Who cares? Last I checked, she's not earning her living off her looks.

moondog · 02/04/2009 20:45

Juxal,if it doesn't matter, why are you posting?

hidetheribbons · 02/04/2009 20:46

There's no such thing as a terrible figure, just the wrong clothes. Or an unflattering photo. She looks great here www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/apr/01/michelle-obama-sarah-brown-outfits Leave her alone, she's a politician's wife, not a fashion model.

nancy75 · 02/04/2009 20:48

i actually feel really sorry for sarah brown, when carla bruni was here everyone was comparing the two, with sarah always coming off worse, no mention of the facts that carla bruni was a super model, and had about £50k worth of clothes that had been given to her/made for her by dior. sarah brown has to buy british clothes and considering the state of the economy if she were to go out and blow £50K on a few outfits she would be torn apart. i think she looks fine, maybe she could look better but maybe she has more important things to worry about.

JuxaLOTmoreChocolate · 02/04/2009 20:50

Because these sort of views need to be jumped on.

FWIW dh would salivate over that pic of her.

NotmyELFtoday · 02/04/2009 20:50

I thank my lucky stars that my dh doesn't aspire to be the prime minister, at least I can then get on with my life without worrying if my not-washboard-flat stomach is affecting the nation.
