Shallow I know, but Sarah Brown has appalling dress sense and a terrible figure.

FGS woman, loser a bit of weight and get some nice gear. You're supposed to be representing us.

is george clooney really gay. somewhere in the back of my mind, there was a vestige of hope ...

hazeyjane · 02/04/2009 19:43

I find this a truly depressing thread.

Sarah Brown looked fine, her weight isn't an issue, she looked like she was dressed smartly and was doing a fine job in 'representing' us.

Women seem to just love tearing each other apart over appearance, it's like being school all over again.

Meglet · 02/04/2009 19:44

I like sarah brown. She's got better things to do than faff about with clothes. I bet she doesn't take any nonsense either.

moondog · 02/04/2009 19:44

I once went to v posh engagement party. As canapes were cicrulated, posh but thick interior designer barked quastions to waitress re content of said canapes.
She muttered an answer to which posh girl bellowed 'Blue cheese? Blue cheese??? I'd rather suck my husband's dick than eat blue cheese'.

So you may have point MP.
I used to quite fancy GB but he has gone off boil.

Don't piss yourself I worked very hard for that was in a class with lots of Dockers children who hated me for not being one of them - we even had a mad lecturer called Mr De'ath who used to do a bloody broom dance and sell the socialist worker!

I didn't fit in at all! Was hell for the 2 years that I stuck it out being shouted down in class for having any sort of opinion that was different to theirs. Mind you none of my opinions were the same as theirs!

nickytwotimes · 02/04/2009 19:44

My point was in response to your comment about people being 'blobs of lard' and that being a drain on the NHS. I felt you were saying that as a way of justifying having a go at overweight people when in fact you seem to dislike them for entirely asthetic reasons if the thread title is anything to go by.

MadameCastafiore · 02/04/2009 19:45

Too true morningpaper, too true!

Judy1234 · 02/04/2009 19:46

She's not unhealthily overweight. She looks better than her husband by a mile and I just htink it's a huge pity that she felt she couldn't continue her career. That's where she's let women down, not in refusing to be a clothes horse.

nickytwotimes · 02/04/2009 19:49

Dear God, I never thought I'd say it, but I totally and utterly agree with Xenia.

moondog · 02/04/2009 19:49

This cracked me up in Torygraph this week with regard to fanciability of G20 blokes.

Who's hot and who's not

10 Downing St with Gordy versus sharing office with Frogspawn.
A no brainer.

I am disappointed in you Moondog.

What a shit thread.

hazeyjane · 02/04/2009 19:53

Sorry but she really doesn't look like she has a weight problem (ie her size causing her health problems) to me.

I too don't think I have 'body image issues'. I think my body is pretty amazing, despite having scars, cellulite, a wobbly tummy and a pretty enormous arse, it has had 2 children, got me through a very serious illness and is a pretty amazing (if slightly wonky machine). I had more body issues when i was 15, but growing to accept my body has been one of the best things about growing up.

MrsMattie · 02/04/2009 19:53

God, I pity the poor woman, having to put up woth such vitriol. What a nasty post.

DeborahBorr · 02/04/2009 19:56

Phew! Xenia is most certainly not Anna.

morningpaper · 02/04/2009 19:57

that picture of Obama makes me suspect that he shaves his chest

Is there time for policywonk to ask him...

nickschick · 02/04/2009 19:58

I could shave his chest for him

"All I can say is what on EARTH is Michelle wearing?" She doesn't even have the excuse that she is a bit dumpy. She could look good in practically anything and had the apalling taste to wear that.

Sarah looks fine. Her skirt is a little tight and should probably be the next size up but it is often difficult to get a skirt that fits round the waist if your hips are the normal English size

peasholme · 02/04/2009 20:00

Is this serious? it is bloody nasty.

MintyyAeroEgg · 02/04/2009 20:01

Actually swedes and hazeyjane - don't be depressed by this thread. The vast majority of posters most vehemently do NOT agree with the op and have not been backward in putting forward their opinion that the op is, infact, being an arse.

The sisters are out in force tonight! Don't let a couple of mad women colour your judgement of the rest of Mumsnet.

Tbh I find it encouraging that spurious, shallow, misogynist and utterly predictable threads like this one are never left unchallenged on this forum.

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 02/04/2009 20:09

Right well that's made my mind up for me. I shall never go to any kind of MN meet up.

I wouldn't want to upset the shallow bitches with my disgusting fat body and poor dress sense.

morningpaper · 02/04/2009 20:11

no one is saying that she has a disgustingly fat body, she is slim

she IS wearing an outfit that she perhaps stole Stephanie from Lazytown

You can dress fantastically whatever your body size

or you can

not

MintyyAeroEgg · 02/04/2009 20:12

Jacqueline - not being egotistical - but just have a little peep at my post immediately before yours .

moondog · 02/04/2009 20:12

I think slim is pushing it.
But she is very attractive nad has lovely hair and could look a million dollars if dressed properly.
