Shallow I know, but Sarah Brown has appalling dress sense and a terrible figure.

FGS woman, loser a bit of weight and get some nice gear. You're supposed to be representing us.

moondog · 02/04/2009 22:19

Well Hab, that's ok.
I don't expect everyone to agree with me.
If I did, why on earth would I bother posting?

I just think
a. she could have put in a bit more effort
b. she is a very attractive woman who could look much much more attractive
c. dressing nicely and carefully speaks volumes about self respect and respect for the people you work with

I don't think that's such a revolutionary set of ideas. Haven't Trinny & Susannah built an entire career on this?

It's smart enough then. Fair enough.
I really should go to bed. It's 3:30 am here and am madly jetlagged hence reason for copious posts.

SB will have a wardrobe budget

that suit did no fit

Habbibu · 02/04/2009 22:23

Not sure Trinny and Susannah are people I'd necessarily want to model myself on, career or otherwise.

Maybe SB is happy with how attractive she looks. She's not looking to pull you, moony, after all, so she doesn't need to set the bar to your standards. Maybe she thinks it matters just a bit less than you do. I hope so, actually.

Mintyy, I think you have ruled out everyone on MN then!

FWIW SB's suit was too tight and MO looked like a clown.

MintyyAeroEgg · 02/04/2009 22:24

She is jajas.

Moondog - I hope you don't look too repulsive from behind in your swimsuit..... it would be a shame to upset other pool users.

ravenAK · 02/04/2009 22:47

Depressing.

Where were the politicians' husbands in all this, so we could be rude about the size of their tummies & their 'ill advised' suits?

Weren't there any? Or did they all have notes from their mums letting them off the stage parade?

MintyyAeroEgg · 02/04/2009 22:47

Lol Dumbles . Just as well I can't see you all and JUDGE you eh? My visceral reaction might put me off me tea.

Merrylegs · 02/04/2009 22:49

Michelle's cardigan is truly awful though, I mean with that dress. What was she thinking? I heart her, but that was a poor choice, when she so often gets it totally right.

Thing is, politicians aren't film stars. They are civil servants, pen pushers, office workers, and Sarah, being wife of a politician, is, I guess dressed for the office, not the red carpet.

AitchTwoOh · 02/04/2009 22:55

i loved the cardi.

Merrylegs · 02/04/2009 22:58

but but

cardi - yes;
dress - yes;
together - uh uh.

And did she button it wonky?

MintyyAeroEgg · 02/04/2009 23:04

I think SB's "crime" is to have worn a size 12 suit when she is a 12 on top and a 14 on the bottom. Tis my guess. But the person who actually deserves a bit of a talking to is her stylist.

I like Michelle's cardi. I like the dress underneath better though. It looks like a cocktail dress, is that what she wore for the evening do?

unavailable · 02/04/2009 23:05

Sarah Brown is a successful woman in her own right, and built her career before getting together with Gordon. I presume she had the same taste then - how DID she manage it?

OP - you are not just being shallow, you are being so sexist. It is quite depressing.

Why dont you put yourself up for the same sort of scrutiny on mumsnet? As a mainly womens' site you should get off lightly (or maybe not if posters have your ethos.)

Yuck.

AitchTwoOh · 02/04/2009 23:08

junya watanabe, innit? asymmetric, you fool.

ElenorRigby · 02/04/2009 23:14

moondog have you posted a pic of you on mumsnet? sorry if this has been asked before

AitchTwoOh · 02/04/2009 23:37

aw moony, she looks great here. take it all back, bitch.

mrsruffallo · 02/04/2009 23:43

She looks fine.
She doesn't have a terrible figure.
She looks like a nice person actually.

I hate it when women judge each others figures, it's so cringworthy

nickschick · 02/04/2009 23:45

She looks soooooooo much better in aitchs pic shes lost those tights is wearing a funkier jacket ......much better do u reckon she read what we said?
