Best place to buy an "AMAZING" dress?

geordieminx · 09/02/2009 11:20

Ok so I'm begging and pleading for the help of the fashion experts on here...

I'm looking for a dress to wear at a wedding... mine but not a "wedding dress".

Ceremony in hotel, 40ish people, meal, casino later. Hotel is a Malmaison, so trendy/gothy chic? The room we are getting married in is black and this kinda colour.

I'm 27, short, will hopefully be a size 10 by then, with good boobs (34d), large thighs and wobbly post child tum.

Ideally I was thinking something long, but this isnt set in stone, I open to all suggestions!

I guess I want to look amazing (ha), cool, sexy but not slutty

Any help, links to websites that I may not have looked at would be appreciated loads.

I know you don't want a bridal gown but how about the outfit the mother of the bride is wearing?

I tried on the Jim Hjelm at a bridal stocking in UK (think it was a department store in Wolverhampton of all places !). There's a contact us bit on the website and if you email them, they'll send you a list of UK (Scottish ?) stockists. They are fantastic dresses

flowers - I've always fancied black dress with mango calla lillies like this

Sorry !! As you can see, I'm a bit wedding obsessed. I reckon the wedding thread needs resurrecting. I'm having withdrawal symptoms

Tillyscoutsmum · 09/02/2009 22:06

oooh - jim hjelm europe site with store finder here

SongBirdOfPrey · 09/02/2009 22:09

oh you can get orchids in that cerise colour too.
i love flowers as well as dresses
hang on i'll find a link.

we'll soon have this wedding organised lol

greyskull. how much was the bra?

SongBirdOfPrey · 09/02/2009 22:10

illy wow i love those cala lillies
imagine them with this dresswow

triffictits · 09/02/2009 22:13

geordie, the first Watters one that Tilly linked in green....I bought it and wore it in the deep maroon colour for a summer ball last year. It is a fabulous dress, very slimming too.

I got it fitted properly because I bought it from a bridal shop....also no risk of anyone else wearing that at your wedding!

Go and try it on, you will love it.

SongBirdOfPrey · 09/02/2009 22:16

orchid

SongBirdOfPrey · 09/02/2009 22:23
