what do we think about TU clothing?

Not somewhere I usually look as we don't have a big Sainsbury's near here with a clothing section, just the little convenience stores.

Saw they had a sale on though and ordered a few things and I'm SO impressed. Ordered this dress https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc148498351 which admittedly is not the most fashion forward item on the planet but I was looking for a comfortable dress for holidays and smart-casual occasions. It's such good quality - really thick, 100% cotton and has pockets! £7.80 absolute bargain. Also bought a grey cardigan/vest thing which is very thick and will keep me cosy in winter.

So did I just hit it lucky or is the general quality of TU better than Asda, Tesco etc?

I buy a lot of DS's clothes from TU, and I've just bought myself some new nighties (lovely soft cotton, and one is really long which will be nice in the winter.) I'm eyeing up a tartan dress which I hope is still there when I get paid.

I’m a complete convert to their jeans. Their checked pj bottoms are great too.

Tu Thermals are good value, especially when there's a sale or discount on. I've had a few of their tops for years and years, wash well too. The heavy weight thermals are lovely.

Absolutely love it.
I'll see if I can link some of my favourite recent purchases

Checked kilt
Cream cardigan
Lambswool cardigan
Great colour top, heavy weight
Not too barrel jeans
V neck tops in khaki and a burgundy stripe.

If there's anything you like out of stock, check back in the morning as that's when they sort the restock

During the summer, their cropped poplin cullottes are fantastic.

Love the cream knitted cardigan.

Agree Tu have some gems. I got some great dark indigo slim flared jeans for around £20 which were better than the £80 Levi’s equivalent!

That dress looks lovely. I haven't bought anything from there for ages but they always used to do a 3 pack of Thomas, James and percy t shirts for a very reasonable price which was great for my Thomas the tank engine obsessed son.

Love it, bought my winter coat from there for £45 recently.

Now that the quality of clothes in most shops is shite it's really leveled the playing field so why pay more for stuff thats equivalent quality to sainsburys ( which isn't too bad for low end)

Yeah. This afternoon I ordered a pair of joggers from Next at £46 and another pair from Tu at £16. Same fabric composition, similar style, different colours. I'll have to wait & see whether I love the Next ones enough to keep them but suspect that, if I do, I'll be paying £30 for the colour!

I find it a bit hit and miss.

I am a great fan of their bras find they are comfortable and lasts well.

I like a some of their clothing but I find a lot of it is not finished well. I bought some troussers this summer similar to these (cant find the ones I bought but close)
https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc147784188. And after first wash they started having threads come out at the hem. When I checked it I realised they were not overlooked (serger) just hemmed this meant they were not coping with the wear and tear. I have hemmed slightly higher with an additional fold to ensure they don't break in one summer.

Similar in the case of some tops however because they were cotton less loose threads.

So I have lesrned to turn their hems and check before I buy. Some stuff is really good. Some I feel is more fast fashion

I found it looking nice on the hanger but always fitting me wrong and I am slim, but it's just how they model their clothes... Is a bit odd

i have this one in black OP and absolutely love it! I agree. Amazing quality and I love the sleeve length.

I like it and the sales online are great

PussyGaylore · Yesterday 07:17

I love the designs on a lot of their stuff but the cheap fabric on some items can let it down.
I have bought some lovely dresses from there but would touch their knitware as I’m trying to avoid acrylic.

Pearlstillsinging · Yesterday 07:17

I used to buy quite a lot of easy to wash trousers and t-shirts from Sainsbury's when I was working. Retired now but I bought a very good quality, heavy cotton skirt over this summer, which got several compliments and just recently got a nice jumper in the sale. You just have to choose carefully but as PP said, you can rely on their sizing being consistent.

The customer toilets are your friend. Not ideal buying then changing in the loos, but easier than having the faff of taking back.

Oooo yeah never thought of that! Thanks x

My teen has just got a job at Argos so we'll get TU discount, I'm overjoyed! Love their blouses for work.

As well as the t-shirt dress I linked I also ordered a long skirt - says its midaxi but as i'm a short arse it's pretty long, seersucker sort of material with a check pattern, will be great for winter with boots and tights, think that was £5.40. Also ordered a grey knitted sleevless cardi with cables up the front for when I'm fancying myself as Claud in the traitors.

Ooo, please could you provide a link to the skirt? 🙏🏻

I don't think they have it any more - the fabric is similar to this one but mine does not have pockets and is different at the waistline

Well done to your teen! Can I ask are they over 18? My 16 yr old has been rejected from over 30 job applications 😭 She's so frustrated and upset. She'd love a job at Argos (or anywhere...)

Well I didn’t think anything about TU clothing until today at about 5.30am when I saw your thread, followed a link and purchased a pair of satin trousers, a multipack of knickers and a nightie. All for £35 so now I feel pleased as punch!

SeraphionLightbringer · Yesterday 08:45

My two favourite bras are from TU.

CaptainMyCaptain · Yesterday 08:53

The jeans are always a good fit on me unlike some other brands which are clearly cut for a different body shape. There will obviously be other people this doesn’t work for.

Me too....got some bits in an online basket.
I wonder if the OP is getting commission??! 😂

I love a Tu haul!

Realised I needed some new long sleeved tops and jeans now that the weather’s turned so I’ve just placed an order.

William Morris PJs might have fallen into my basket, bought a pair in summer and couldn’t resist another pair.

Two of my children have worked at Waitrose at 16, but I think they need to have completed y11.

She's 16. I was scouring individual companies websites for her once she left school, and it was literally up for a day, that's how high demand is. They took 4 young people on, she started in August.
Because her college course isn't every day, she's got a bit more flexibility, I think that helped. She does 12 hours a week, and it pays well.
