Welcome to the 12th thread, we still have 50 days till the daily unboxing officially starts, although I very much doubt any of our calendars will remain untouched until then 😂
Still time for lots more friendly chat, tips and discount codes - to cut down on links as a poster requested, here's link to some very comprehensive run-downs of the calendars https://beauty-detective.com/category/beauty-advent-calendars/
When enjoying those breakdowns please remember that some are OOS already - Harrod's Fragrance, Harrod's Beauty and Selfridges Beauty to name a few.

so I got in, Klarna took my money and then selfridges didn'tt complete the order, now I am £225 down and hoping in the next 7-14 days money will come back in my account without me doing anything..... That will teach me to be greedy for earthly pleasures.

Using safari on Mac laptop and Wishlist with Apple Pay worked for me just now. Am praying you all get yours, we all absolutely deserve one after this fiasco

This reminds me of the Harrods fiasco where people with an Apple device got through easy and a lot of Android people got shafted

I sometimes think I'm silly having a Macbook and an Android phone but I guess I get to cover all bases when it comes to online queues. 😂

This happened to me with Harrods and paypal. I got my money back but I still have an incomplete transaction showing in PayPal which no one seems able to remove and meant I lost my pay-in-three privileges.

It's not in my offers. Boo!

That’s so annoying! I don’t even shop in Selfridges that often. Or is that the whole point?!

If it wasn't for the link dropped on this thread, I'd never have got one. I'm eternally grateful to the poster for that one.

AdaRed · 13/10/2026 09:53

I had it in my bag by adding from the wishlist eventually. Then the payment page was down and when it reloaded it stole it away from my basket. So frustrating!

Advententhusiast · 13/10/2026 09:56

Is it just an online restock or do they restock stores as well?

Annamarieboo · 13/10/2026 09:56

Also why is there still a queue?

JoRaRaRa · 13/10/2026 09:59

I think they're reloading as it says that the queue is paused. Doesn't say sold out like last week.

HolidayHattie · 13/10/2026 09:59

ShineDespiteEverything · 13/10/2026 09:36

Don’t stay in the queue, delete app and keep refreshing wishlist, try different browsers.

Tried all that. App, Edge, safari, chrome...

Onceadreamer · 13/10/2026 10:00

Reckon they have site issues with the queue paused.

nearly61 · 13/10/2026 10:00

That’s an interesting point about Android and Mac- I hadn’t considered it might make a difference.
i did find I couldn’t use credit cards or PayPal, only Apple Pay was live so perhaps the other methods were all busy- is that even a thing? I’m not technically minded.
Thank you very very much to the poster/s who talked us through the wishlist.

Beautyfox · 13/10/2026 10:01

That might explain why mine has only gone down 1k since 9am

Advententhusiast · 13/10/2026 10:02

Its a complete shitshow. They should just drop batches unnanounced at random times so genuine people have more chances of getting it

ShineDespiteEverything · 13/10/2026 10:03

HolidayHattie · 13/10/2026 09:59

Delete app so that it doesn’t open it when refreshing. Open safari browser or edge. Are you on your phone? When you hit refresh do you see ad to bag appear or not? Last time it didn’t work on my ipad or the imac but today worked on my phone in safari.

Could be as I had it in basket, secure pay out and wouldnt take a single thing. Barclays went tits up with an automaten Error message and then they just threw people out and emptied the basket it seems

I'm not sure genuine people would have more of a chance, as I'm pretty sure scalpers would run some kind of automated 'check and refresh' script on the site if it was random drops.

Advententhusiast · 13/10/2026 09:56

Ive seen someone on Facebook who queued at Oxford Street only to be told there was no stock as it had all been allocated by personal shoppers.

HolidayHattie · 13/10/2026 10:06

JoRaRaRa · 13/10/2026 10:00

Is it that the wishlist isn't loading?

Yep. And the Add to basket never flashed up. It did last night when I was practising, but not this morning. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

JoRaRaRa · 13/10/2026 10:08

Someone on insta is saying to do the wishlist thing on the website, then if you can't pay first time, move to your phone / app to pay. Obviously that's when it comes back into stock.

Strawberryfield12 · 13/10/2026 09:50

As I didn't manage to snag the calendar, it's irrelevant anyway.

Ilovecats127 · 13/10/2026 09:41

Hi I managed to get one, it kept coming up with error when I was trying to pay. In the end Klarna worked. I ordered through the website on my phone. I had to delete the app as when it was my turn, it took me to the app and put me back in the queue.

not sure what is going on with the queuing as I was 175 on my phone on browser, on the app was 40000 and was in the thousands on my work laptop. I’m

The queuing system seems incredibly flawed and I hate the way it throws you back in the queue when you go to your bag too. It was almost as if being signed in actually goes against you. I only made it to where I did by going in anon and then signing in at the very end at payment (using Apple Pay) (which was also a stress because it was on my old iPad which is touch verification and it didn’t recognise my finger for ages 😅)

Onceadreamer · 13/10/2026 10:11

Don’t think I’m feeling particularly good about shopping with Selfridges generally now!
