Can you give me your bestest, affordable and softest eyeliners ?.

They must be soft, really soft. Ideally not too pricey unless you convince me I won't be disappointed. Not gel, standard old school kohl type.

Gave up wearing it a while ago and going to try again..thanks in advance

Another vote for Avon glimmersticks.

Banjas · 14/09/2026 18:53

I tried out my Avon Glimmerstick today on your account @Weirdconditionaltense
I now know I put it in the “Not Used Very Often” holder in the bathroom.
It’s a twist up pencil not one you sharpen yourself. I dislike that as they always break off on me. My one has a bit of glitter in it and my yes have reacted. It is going in the bin.
A non glitter one might be better for me.
Yes it is soft. But not as soft as the ones you sharpen yourself. But it probably won’t smudge as much.
The Boots pencils, the VB pencils, a Chanel one I have, the Hildun one and the Urban Decay pencil are all equally soft. Kiko too do soft pencils.
I think you should test them
in a store and see what colours you like.

Avon glimmersticks. And Sephora.

Weirdconditionaltense · 14/09/2026 19:03

@Banjas many thanks. appreciate you giving me more..I've gone ahead and ordered a glimmerstick now - cosmic brown, which I hope doesn't have glitter - I'm too old for that look ! 😔

Yes you're right I need to get into the shops really. I'll probably end up doing that soon. Cheers. :)

W7 have soft eye pencils too. And they are cheap.

CheeseToast17 · 15/09/2026 17:34

Victoria Beckham, they’re not that expensive.

VC10vTristar · 15/09/2026 17:42

Another vote for Kiko Milano for their great range of colours and available on Amazon

I came across Kiko Milano the other day when I was looking at an old thread on here about Trinny dupes. Will doubly have to check them out now!

Ireolu · 16/09/2026 12:08

Kiko is almost as good as YSL line liberated. So I have a few of their pencils for around a third of the price.

Mysteise · 16/09/2026 15:21

I cannot believe no one has mentioned Hildun Beauty! They are literal dupes of the VB and half the price.

PestoQueen · 16/09/2026 15:21

Beauty pie are excellent

They're thirty-three quid. Is that 'not that expensive' now, in eye liner terms?

RausageSoul · 16/09/2026 16:31

I know you’ve said pencil, but NYX inky sticks are the softest and smoothest I’ve ever used.

a couple of people have mentioned them. I came to suggest hildun too, lovely and soft and nice colours too

Hedgehogsintheorchard · 16/09/2026 16:54

I really like the Rimmel twist up ones that need no sharpening.
Or I use a damp brush on a dark eyeshadow.

TheDogsMother · 16/09/2026 17:08

I got Laura Geller Smooth Glide Gel Eyeliner from TK Maxx yesterday. It was in the marked down a bit more pile. £3.20 ! Winner.

I mentioned them ages ago.
Along with VB and Boots No. 7

travailtotravel · 16/09/2026 19:55

Maybelline for me ....

Banjas · 17/09/2026 09:05

Morphe Bi-Liner pencils are exceedingly soft too @Weirdconditionaltense

True. I don't think I could justify spending £30 on an eyeliner..

I've bought three of the Kiko Milano ones today. They're on offer, three for the price of two. Will report back on what they're like - I'll use at least one when I get ready for work tomorrow.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 22/09/2026 22:07

I've used all three although not all together! Very easy to use and blend out. No transfer onto my lids, which is good. Worth getting.

Gettingbysomehow · 22/09/2026 22:30

I bought a whole packet of them in different colours from tik tok shop recently. 12 colours. They are the best ones Ive ever had. So soft and go on really easily. I think they were £4.99.

Banjas · 23/09/2026 13:57

In my quest for the perfect colour I bought an eyeliner 2 days ago.
Too bad but I had forgotten that I can be super allergic to some eye pencils. Obviously I’m not allergic to the Boots No7, the VB, the Hildun or Kiko ones.
My eyelids have swelled up and are red. ☹️
I had to throw it away.

Sorry to see this @Banjas ...

Which one caused the allergic reaction? I've bought a glimmerstick and I'm really chuffed with it. Ir's so soft! I got a bit of an odd comment from my DH when he realised I'd started wearing it but I don't care.
Hope your eyes have calmed down now.
