As always when the Advent threads are running hot this thread is a little quieter but holiday releases, sets and edits are just around the corner. I'm super excited to be going to Sephoria London in October - I still can't believe I lucked out getting a ticket.

Did they not offer the matifying balm they use instead of powder??

I’ve yet to ever receive a sample from SNK with any order. It’s put me off ordering from them tbh, as lack of promised samples or alternatives seems a bit dishonest to me when it happens ALL the time 😿

its been ages since I ordered online with them but iirc you have to select which samples you want?

@SulkingInTheCatio - it’s that they claim they have ‘run out’ of samples and don’t send alternatives. It’s happened to me with every single order! I have contacted them to complain and got short shrift 🤷‍♀️

I've almost always got the requested samples when available. Occasionally they've substituted for a different one than I picked. Usually I'm not bothered but was annoyed when I was sent a personalised email offer for 5ml Tatcha eye cream at checkout which I wanted and instead they swapped out for 5ml SR AutoCorrect.

When I was trying to get my SNK anniversary freebie the other day, they didn’t have any in stock in the shop I was in.

The assistant kindly offered to get it sent to me centrally if I bought something in store. I told her that was very kind of her but I had no confidence that it would arrive, given SNK’s repeated failure to send samples with orders.

I was a bit surprised when she then agreed this was a strong possibility 🙀

I saw there will be a Caroline Hirons Kit at the end of the month. Saw someone mention kits on here other day. Im going to try to resist.
I have completely stripped back my routine and my skin is thanking me. Starting to look clearer and less red.
So annoyed with it! 🤣 Doesnt it realise what I spend? 🤷🤦‍♀️🤣

I've always received my SNK samples although like a PP said it's dangerous! That's what got me into Sisley black rose, diptyque, many other expensive habits...

I do wish SNK would chuck in samples in store if you are spending a reasonable amount. I would rather buy in store where I can to support the retail staff etc (who are always lovely!) I wouldn’t mind if the samples were totally random in store (as it’s a crap shoot online anyway 😀)

I think you could do both with half way stop for a wine (quick drinker).

They definitely have samples because I saw a sales assistant giving some to a customer from a big box of samples they had behind the till a few weeks go.

Good point! I’m up in Charlotte St for lunch at 1.30 so will route plan and consider options.

I think I get the samples I’ve asked for about 80% of the time. Once or twice I’ve got something better. I’ve got two SNK orders (hopefully with samples!) arriving today so we’ll see how this goes 😅

I couldn’t find any of the edits in Selfridges Oxford St. and the assistant I asked had NO idea what I was referring to. Which was odd.

The Lola At Coat Check testers were both empty so I had a whisper of what it was like. Can’t really tell though. And the Dioressence is being repackaged so there were no testers in new packaging - I want to see if it’s been reformulated.

I did get a sample of a new Creed smell though!

All six samples correct across the two orders today. Looking forward to trying the Sisley hair mask.

I’ve generally found SNK stores to be very generous with samples, more hit and miss online. Currently considering CT pressed and loose powder in my basket. Maybe don’t need both?

The Escentual code above works on the Clarins 12 day advent calendar, already reduced, bringing it down to £47.50.

This was me in Manchester last week. Just got directed to the advent calendar. But then someone found them the very next day. I suspect I asked a weekend staff who was not as knowledgeable.
Some of the edits seem to be online now- but not the beauty kit of dreams which is the one I want!
