As always when the Advent threads are running hot this thread is a little quieter but holiday releases, sets and edits are just around the corner. I'm super excited to be going to Sephoria London in October - I still can't believe I lucked out getting a ticket.

I am similar to @JoRaRaRa and keep mine in their boxes although I did use last years gold ones for my eyeshadow sticks but they are back in their boxes now after my re-org.

I have never used their eye palettes as tend to stick with Natasha Denona, Lisa E, Victoria Beckham ones.

Um... my Sephora order of the Natasha Denona eyeshadow palette just turned up. What also turned up was a second box from Sephora, addressed to me, containing the Kayali vanilla gift set - a 50ml and 10mL bottle - which looks like it is worth £79! There was no packing note and no mention of it in my order.

Is this some amazing free gift they haven't told anyone about?!

If any of those Xmas 2026 CD gift sets with bags land in Boots, I might use up my Advantage points on one.

I picked up the gold skincare one with a reduction just before last Xmas but didn’t open it so have put the contents into my DIY advent calendar. (I checked the dates and everything is good for another 18 months so will be using it AT Xmas!)

Meanwhile, the little gold bag is sitting on display in my bedroom as a little splash of colour and it makes me feel happy whenever I look at it. I will probably take it for a couple of evenings out around Xmas.

I was looking at that, very interested in the pads. Ive never used gatineau before so can't decide.

I have the opposite: placed an order with Selfridges for some REISS tops in the sale on Saturday, delivery due Monday, still nothing and haven’t heard back from their CS (who confirmed the order appeared to have gone missing between dispatch to DHL and exiting the warehouse). My last order was missing the perfume edit, so that’s 2 in a row since I joined the Plus delivery scheme. Am deeply unimpressed esp as I can see I’ve been billed on my cc. I know I’ll sort it but I really don’t have time. And I actually wanted the tops!

Congratulations @namechange0998776554799000 ! I had heard about Sephora’s whimsical approach to quality controlling packed orders and a couple of years ago it happened to me. I ordered an Elemis dynamic resurfacing set - the cleanser and the pads - and they sent the same set twice. Bloody marvellous!

Can anyone recommend a good lip liner. I ve got a Mac one currently and I don’t find it very good to be honest. I feel I’m scratching away on my lips and not much product appears.

I absolutely love Ilia Lip Sketch after having previously never been able to get lip liner to look right on me. You can also use them as lipsticks but I mostly use them to line. Very smooth on and great lasting power (although I smudge them out for a more natural look).

Fab thanks. Am very excited about a space nk and Sephora visit tomorrow so will try the ysl and ilia ones. Will also check Elf as I’m off to boots to get an Elf blush which is meant to be similar to the Rhode blush.

I meant to mention I noticed the other day there’s a new Sephora coming to Kensington High Street, in case this is useful to anyone! It’s going to be positioned near the Boots, which is one of the better ones for beauty. There’s also the SpaceNK on Kensington Church Street but, alas, long gone are the days of the MAC and Makeup For Ever stores. I think there’s also a Kiko further up the high street but I’ve never been.

If you are interested in brushes, the Elf one that is similar on the Makeup by Mario F4 is worth picking up too.

My husband used to regularly get random freebie’s from screw fix when he placed orders.
Once he ordered some expensive work trousers for collection and a few days later another pair arrived by post as well.

It was a space nk sample which got me into amika. Which is expensive. These samples are good but dangerous 😂
