As always when the Advent threads are running hot this thread is a little quieter but holiday releases, sets and edits are just around the corner. I'm super excited to be going to Sephoria London in October - I still can't believe I lucked out getting a ticket.

I bought it for DS last xmas and he finished the bottle in less than 6 months. I'm seriously impressed at the way he can speed run through fragrance. 😂They recently brought a version out called Myslf le parfum but he doesn't like that as much.

Edit to add - find out which he likes as the EDP is out of stock a lot. I've been waiting for a good discount and for it to be in stock as the last few times they've had offers I haven't been able to get it.

Hmm, how strange. They're advertising it on the Skin Cupid website as their advent calendar alternative with 30 products, but it's pre-order only. Maybe it'll be in store from the release date of 13th October?

Okay, opinions needed please! I’ve been using VB foundation drops for the last week and I love the finish but there’s just one thing- they absolutely reek! Is it just me? Does anyone else have this issue or are mine gone off? I haven’t had them long and I’ve only just opened them, They have the same type of scent as Urban Decay all nighter setting spray, albeit not quite as strong. I once saw this described as the smell of someone else’s infected sneeze and that’s exactly what I get 🤢. I’m pushing through because a) they were so expensive and b) it doesn’t linger all day like the setting spray - but I do find it incredibly unpleasant whilst applying and for a while after.

No, they are fine. That's just how they smell. I don't mind it too much but it is a very odd scent.

I find them a bit herbal/medicinal scented if I had to describe them.

Hmm @Addictedtobeauty I have both the VB foundation and urban decay and haven't noticed a smell from either of them!

prefacing this with , but I’m definetly over the AB hype . I’ve tried the rich cream , the eye cream and the serum . Whilst nice not for the price point . The thing is eye creams are just a little bit less than your actives . So if I have a gentle moisturiser that I use after a retanoil then it’s good enough for my eyes . I am just not seeing a difference with any eye cream . I know this is totally personnel but the price of eye creams is stupid . I’m not getting any of the CB edits , because A I have most of these things in my BAC and B they are too small . I think edits neeed to grow , I am done with spending too much money on teeny tiny tubes . I have no idea if they work for me based on two days worth of use . The calendars need to get more special and so do the edits . We need to get more fussy . I love love love these threads and I promise you I’m not trying to suck the joy . I am just hoping those people who work for the these HUGE conglomerates can give us a tiny bit of respect and think in order to keep us buying their products that they need to raise there game . I’ll always be in it but I’m going to feel less drawn to the hype if it doesn’t get more curated . One BAC at 250 is a lot of money for most people ( I am not judging you know that ) so for that money make people feel special not that they are getting cast offs .

but we are refined we know our products our formulas our skin regimes . And you may just see fifty people post but there are so many who read . And we post on other formats . Im
just done with being served less . It’s not a bargain if it’s a 2ml or 5 ml sample of a cream .

I agree some of the teeny tubes seem a bit pointless. That said, I just got a Cult Beauty edit for £35.95 (with a discount code) which included a 30ml Murad retinal which has a retail value of £105. So am pretty chuffed! It’s worth keeping an eye out if there’s something you want.

And it is a great bargain I don’t disagree . But if it’s the same product over and over in multiple BAC’s. What’s the point ? I mean we need something more exclusive as well as an established lotion. I am so happy you got this . I just want to see the whole edit introduce me to something new . Across the board . So I’ve just tied Joonbryd , it may be old news but it’s new to me and I am a slack Alice when it comes to my body . But this is so lovely and the scent lasts . It’s just my thoughts but I don’t see that brand on here . I pick up stuff from articles and beauty editors ( not Ticky tok 😂) but established beauty editors and articles by dermatologist and my own ( I have Botox and fillers) who honestly thinks I am insane buying these calendars he just says nothing will give you collagen in a cream and says my neck needs love but it can be any moisturiser I have . I don’t care I ignore him and me and the woman i go to for a facial ( twice a year) talk all things creams and lotions and positions 😂 . If you love medik8 and I do it’s great but its bloody everywhere . As I said before I have to go calm the flook down I’m just saying the offerings are introducing us to very itch that is new and when you browse the sites of the big brands there is loads that I would love to try . But we won’t see it for three or four years . So we are always behind on the new formulas and innovations .

I’ve ranted again . I’m going away now for a bit
going to wait for the 8th and come back with renewed joy . 💃

Has anyone been to the H Beauty carnival over the weekend and any feedback. I recall a few posters went to the summer one and provide some great guidance for people.
Also, does anyone know if the H beauty stores stock BDK Stellar Silk?

I’ve just been able to buy 2 of the Cult Beauty Christmas edits using the CBAFF code- be quick in case it stops working!
