Welcome back everyone to the new thread and hello to any newbies - join us now in time for the autumnal fun. 🍂💄🌂

As always when the Advent threads are running hot this thread is a little quieter but holiday releases, sets and edits are just around the corner. I'm super excited to be going to Sephoria London in October - I still can't believe I lucked out getting a ticket.

Some exciting homegrown news -after a few technical hiccups the FB group is now searchable (but private) MN Beauty Chat Swap/Trade/Sell.* *For those interested in the group we have a few joining rules you will be asked to abide by. Thank you @MrsBnow12 @CinderellaParker for your help.

I bought one of each of the blushes as didn’t want to pay postage, skipped the lip balms as have some Eadem balms arriving and only so many lip products I need.

Ooooh, where did you buy Eadem lip balms from? I really want to try them but any UK stockists are already sold out.

JPMJuliz · 16/09/2026 13:33

user593 · 15/09/2026 17:41

I set an alarm on my phone 🙈 after missing out on the last bun fight release 😂 Looks like all the blush are gone now. I got Gemini and Monet and the peptide lip tint. I wasn’t sure about Monaco.

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the Gemini when it arrives, it looks a very pretty shade but it’s teeny and the only one thing I liked the look of out of this drop.

A friend was travelling to the US and bought them back for me as I also couldn’t get hold of them here.

Lovely, enjoy when they arrive! And tell me they’re horrible so I can stop lusting after them… 😅

Thelifeofawife · 16/09/2026 17:37

Safe to say that the Nars light reflecting foundation is not for me. Setting aside the fact that my skin match was no match at all and I look ghostly, it is emphasising all of my pores and looks terribly cakey 🙈
I have used it once before and thought perhaps it was because I’d not prepped my skin as much as usual, but I did everything right today and I still look awful!
Back to good old Maybelline 😁

Escentual are doing their 25% off nearly everything again. Code is SECRET25 but it seems to self-apply in the basket anyway.

Someone was after the Givenchy Irresistible but I can’t recall who. Anyway, this is on offer on Escentual

I tried this yesterday and thought exactly the same. The much cheaper Boots No 7 foundation is much better. I do like the concealer though and also the bronzing powder.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 16/09/2026 18:12

Omg @Thelifeofawife that was me! Thank you! Off to have a look and probably fail to exercise restraint 😁

trying29 · 16/09/2026 18:23

Sorry if I am most likely telling you all something you already know - but I booked myself a tatcha facial at Space NK for today, and omg it was amazing. I have wanted to try the products for ages but haven't known where to start. I thought for 45 minutes at £65 it was not too bad and that was then redeemable against products. I also got a small GWP at Space NK. this was new to me, and they are all over the country

I love this foundation. It's one of my faves. I am ghostly anyway and don't have noticeable pores. Maybe that's why.

Oh great, glad you saw my post 😊

The 35ml is double discounted to £33.45 - I haven’t tried the bigger bottles but thought that was a great price - some other really good fragrance offers on too

Ooh I’ll take a look at that one. I used to buy a lot of No7 products years ago but drifted away from them.

@OvaHere Yes that must be why 😅 I’ve seen so many people recommend it, so I was excited to try it. I knew I’d gone too light but decided I could warm it up with bronzer or some bronzing drops, but it just doesn’t work for me overall. I have stuck with the Maybelline one for years after trying various others, including the likes of Dior. That said, I do still want to try the Dior cushion foundation to see how that looks on me

The Dior Stick is supposed to be good. That's on my must try sometime list.

This sounds good, did you book online?

trying29 · 16/09/2026 19:58

I did - if you happen to be on their mailing list, at the bottom of the monthly email with events, there are various options to book facials. they only seem to do one or two days a month and and differing venues, but they had amongst others Augustinus Bader, and Dr Dennis Goss (sp?), but lots of brands . They are run by the brand directly, so they really knew their stuff, not that the Space NK ppl don't but it felt really informative. the cost is redeemable against products in store afterwards. I booked as a birthday treat to myself

Branster · 16/09/2026 20:09

I couldn’t see if this has been added here yet so apologies if it has been mentioned already. For those who like Charlotte Tilbury, copied & pasted from Chole’s Deals newsletter tonight:

You can get 20% off almost everything at Charlotte Tilbury, with no code needed.
And if you spend £85+, you’ll get a FREE Pillow Talk Mini Glossy Lips Duo worth £21.
This deal is only available until 6am on 21st September. Offer excludes selected products, bundles and travel sizes.

Thanks for this - I saw it today and was tempted but my local SNK doesn't offer it so I'd have to go into London, which isn't necessarily a blocker. I just need to think about what I'd actually buy, given the mountain of skincare that I'm about to create from 3 advents!

Branster · 16/09/2026 21:34

I’ve just read that the founder and CEO of Allies of Skin is leaving the company in February next year. I really hope this will not dilute the brand and exceptional quality.

Fillybuster · 16/09/2026 21:38

Sorry if this is old news…

Someone mentioned this company on the Christmas bargains thread - I’ve just had a look and they’ve got some amazing discounts (Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream at £45!) and very good trustpilot reviews:

If anyone has a Unidays account, or DCs with one, they have an offer for 20% off at Cult Beauty, plus a £5.00 gift card towards your next shop. It didn't work on edits, but did work on scent sets.

I got 20% off the Discothèque Discovery Set and the Commodity Exploration Kit, and both come with a £10 voucher towards a full size purchase. I also picked up another 5 mini scents for a fiver.

I also had £5 credit so spent £66.40 and have £20 towards 2 full size fragrances, a £5 gift card, plus I've also been sent a separate £5 voucher (different code to the gift card)

Girl math is telling me my haul has only cost £36.40 🤔

Thanks I have looked at that site before but haven't ever bought anything. Has anyone used it before?

Probably worth noting Cosmetify itself isn't a store and doesn't ship the products. You have to check each listing to see where it's being shipped from. It does seem to have good reviews but I'm not sure how easy it would be to return or deal with damaged items.

Cosmetify is the definitive beauty platform, used by millions of shoppers to search, explore and purchase cosmetic and fragrance products from the widest selection of brands. We aren't a retailer and we don't stock or ship products, we simply aggregate as many stores as possible, comparing their prices before selecting the cheapest option, allowing you to save £££'s.

I didn’t know Primark had got into Kbeauty @keepincool - thanks for the info. I see Cosmopolitan rated it earlier in the year!

It’s made in Korea but it’s part of the Primark Skin range, so not the PureSeoul chain as far as I can tell.
