Tinted moisturiser with SPF recommendations for natural look in your forties

My gp has said I need to wear SPF every day looking for recommendations of a tinted moisturizer with built-in SPF. I don't really wear make up so something that looks natural ( 43 so a few blemishes and lines I wouldn't mind easing)

then a mate showed me a beauty pie one. I'm like I'm not subscribing so bought it full price from liberty

I think the reason for the doctor recommendation is important in understanding whether a spf tinted moisturiser is sufficient for your daily use, as well as how much time you’re spending outside. Absolutely no way do I spend enough time outside to need a full spf on an office day for example. But I certainly wouldn’t wear a tinted moisturiser to the beach.

Beauty of Joseon facial spf

Another one coming in to say that you need an SPF with a tint, not a tinted moisturiser with SPF. It's expensive but the one I've found to have the best finish is Charlotte Tilbury Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer SPF 50 PA++++/.

I am very prone to acne. I use Biore watery essence. Superdrug stock the Uk version but I buy from Japan as the Japanese formulation is best for my skin. It dries without a film on the face. Not oily or drying.

A tinted moisturiser, or foundation, with an spf is not going to give you enough protection to count. I use Beauty of Joseon rice spf. It is nothing like regular sunscreen but instead feels like an expensive light moisturiser.

It was the CC cream. It was like paste - really drying.

You really need to just use a SPF, not tints with SPF in it.
Biore UV aqua rich watery essence SPF 50 is very good.
In theory you need to apply a decent face cream with no SPF in it, then your SPF, then any tint or foundation if you want to. L’Oréal true match nude plumping tinted serum is great for 40+ skin.

Avon does a nice, inexpensive one, and a little goes a long way.

That's such a shame as it's really quite good. Maybe you got a dodgy one. A bit expensive to keep trying though maybe.

I use la Roche 50 + without a tint and mix it with a splodge of foundation.

This is a great quality for a tinted moisturiser and a terrible one for an SPF!

La Roche Posay tinted sunscreen spf50

I am not convinced about Eborian.

The La Roche Posay UVAir tinted serum SPF50 is excellent, very lightweight and does not break me out.

I have to wear sunscreen due to increased sensitivity caused by medication. I use ultrasun face tinted which is SPF30 and then use ultrasun family SPF30 on the rest of me

I second Ultrasun.
They do a tinted suncream for face SPF 50. And you only need to apply once a day.

Try Roche Posay anthelios spf 50 tinted. I LOVE it and wear it all year round.
Have previously tried a couple of different Erborian bb/cc creams but have never got on with them as they’re too heavy on my skin.

@lancslass17 Trinny BFF cream (SPF 35 and a gentle tint that adjusts the shade itself. You still pick a shade eg Light Medium. It is lovely, as is their See The Light SPF moisturiser. I don’t use all their stuff.

The tinted LRP is quite orange. Need such a light hand to avoid full Trumpification so best to mix with the untinted if you have fair skin. Or just use the untinted and add a little colour with bronzer or something.

I didn't get on with Erborian CC creme either, gave me spots. I have really red skin which I would love to even out but I haven't found anything that doesn't make it worse. Sorry, not very helpful.

What is your natural skin tone?

For shade range beauty of joeson is amazing. Also a proper SPF. I find the texture weird, not uncomfortable or hard to wear just odd. Though I cant say I don't like it. When I got mine they sent out a full set of samples of the whole shade range - which is in one way helpful and also wasteful. A few either side would be more useful - but probably more work for them. I haven't used them if you want them DM and I will send them to you.

If you are not dealthy pale and probably up to deep olive then Garnier Glow SPF 50 is amazing. Usually on offer for about £8 in boots or Amazon. Its as good IMO as Trinny (and I love Trinny but its got too expensive at almost £40) plus a higher SPF, not as good a colour match and doesn't go on white.

If you've been told to wear SPF then go for a proper sunscreen not a tinted makeup and get the highest factor you can.

Agree I use the BB on a night out as it is thicker for a more done look, brightening CC during the day ( it covers lightly but also has a luminous glow to it) and just started using their water CC for a super light coverage - also use Eborisn's lush cleansing oil ( didn't like the smell of the cleansing gel tho)

Another recommendation for Erborian, I use the CC cream. However I wouldn’t rely on a tinted product for SPF coverage, they’re usually limited to 30 and you use them differently. For example, I rub my SPF on my ears, right up to my hairline, around my eyes. I wouldn’t instinctively do that with a tinted product. I recommend Korean SPFs for strength and light formulas - Anua, Beauty of Joseon and Thank You Farmer are all great.
