Tinted moisturiser with SPF recommendations for natural look in your forties

My gp has said I need to wear SPF every day looking for recommendations of a tinted moisturizer with built-in SPF. I don't really wear make up so something that looks natural ( 43 so a few blemishes and lines I wouldn't mind easing)

Either Erborian or Clinigue CC cream?
Both 30 SPF

I love the erborian BB cream which Is SPF 20 or 25 I think. It's surprisingly good light coverage and I find it doesn't settle in lines

La Roche spf50. They do a tinted version which I use everyday and don’t need makeup

I don’t think that tinted moisturisers/foundation can really have enough SPF in them. I wear a SPF50 underneath my make up all year round.

I recently bought Erborian after recommendations on here and hated it. It was thick and dry. Not natural at all. I used a small amount and couldn't blend it at all.

I quite like Garnier vitamin c daily uv brightening fluid. It's what I expected the Erborian to be!

You need an SPF50 with a tint, not a tinted moisturiser with SPF. They are a bit of a con as there is never very much SPF in them.

I don’t think it’s that they don’t have the stated SPF in them, but more that you’re unlikely to apply enough to achieve the full stated protection.

I swear by Erborian CC cream. It’s fab. I have dry skin. The BB cream is too thick for me.

For your face, you need to apply a teaspoon of sunscreen. If you do this with a tinted moisturizer it's going to look very thick. I would suggest applying a regular face sunscreen factor 50, and then putting the tinted moisturizer over the top. That should give you the coverage you need and a tint.

Boots do a great one in their no7 range.

Heliocare does a tinted sunscreen, rather than makeup with spf added, might be worth a look.

Bobbi Brown has a good range of decent SPF products, primers range from SPF 50 to SPF 35, serum foundation SPF 40.

Bare Minerals complexion rescue is lovely, it's SPF 30.

Weird. Did you use the Erborian BB cream rather than the CC cream? The CC cream can't really be described as thick. There's also a water version which is even thinner.

Hydropeptide solar defence. LOVE this product! It is so subtle. Ultraviolette is also an excellent, but I feel like it goes on a little heavier. I have super sensitive, lizard skin that needs covering even in winter.

If you need an SPF recommendation, try the Beauty of Joseon one (I got on to that one after recommendations here in another thread!) If you then get a tinted base with SPF you can see it as an added bonus, and you can choose it more for the formulation you prefer. For SPF, you want something you won’t be afraid to apply liberally (so not put off by the look once on, or cost).

Everyday SPF is recommended to everyone if you look for skincare advice, but if your GP has said this specifically I would definitely not rely on a tinted moisturiser with SPF alone, as the actual protection would be greatly reduced due to the amount you would use.

Following as I used to love the old Clinique super cityblock which was sadly discontinued years ago (the replacement is nothing like the old one and is really oily), and I have never found anything just as good.

Really envious of those who can wear standard facial suncream. The very day I put some on I am covered in spots. I must have tried at least ten different brands.

Clearly on hot days I don’t have a choice and have to put up with this. I couldn’t wear year round suncream though.

Following for advice on any creams that won’t cause spots.

I always use Ultraviolette facial sunscreen, then (for light extra coverage/tint) Origins Ginzing SPF40 tinted moisturiser. Echoing others above that just an SPF tinted moisturiser wouldn’t be enough on its own. Neither is especially cheap but I find they last ages.

La Roche Posay tinted SPF 50 is good

Cerave facial moisturiser with SPF50 is good. It doesn't look greasy at all, or leave white marks. And it's not horrendously expensive, I think around the £10-13 mark and lasts several months. (Not tinted though for OP).
