@Moofwoof It’s not at all crazy to have 2 of them, they are different contents so you’ll get to enjoy more variety of products. You could do what I do and open them together so that at least if there’s something not so exciting one day, you’ve got another drawer that should balance it out. Or you could have one for December and one for January πŸ˜ƒ
I’ve got 2 BAC and 2 FAC so far and I’m still planning on at least another one (despite having a couple unopened from last year πŸ˜…). I do, however, intend to buy less edits next year as I’m drowning in stuff now πŸ™ˆ (famous last words)

Moofwoof · 05/09/2026 23:47

Thank you so much. I will definitely go for it then! Which ones have you got so far? I love this time of year!

Me too! πŸ˜ƒ

I’ve got Harrods BAC, Harrods FAC, CB signature BAC and Boots FAC. I will likely get SNK as well. I enjoyed Harvey Nicks last year but it doesn’t look like they will be releasing one.
I really fancied the Selfridges one but I missed the release and it went out of stock, so I took the plunge and got CB, then Selfridges came back in stock again πŸ™ˆ If that one or JL gets reduced I could be tempted, but I would need to split out the things I really want and sell the rest, then condense them, as I’ve got too much stuff and realistically I’ve already spent a lot of money.

IlovePond · 06/09/2026 03:44

@juicyjellybaby - I use the salty/gritty one in the tub with the blue/green lid. I have tried some of the CR creams and they don’t do much for me.

@MrsE1 - I haven’t found CR stripping, but I don’t use it very often, (probably once a month or if my scalp feels like it needs it), and always use lots of conditioner afterwards.

They usually have a rewards weekend either Sep or early Oct which is 10% off. Last year the two beauty BACs were still on sale and were included. I think this weekend is what sold them out last year.

Edit - Just checked my orders and I bought the BAC during the 10% weekend last year which was Sep 13th. So if they do it again and the BAC is eligible it might be soon and that might sell the BAC out online.

Edited

Thank you, that makes it easier for me to decide.

Ill wait to see if they reduce next weekend and order the Harrods one. Will ship it to a friend because shipping it to NL is 100 eur extra. Id rather take us out for dinner for that. She doesnt mind receiving my packages once in a while but I dont want her to be my hoarder warehouse for 1 month. πŸ˜…

Ill then see if Selfridges is still available in 2 weeks so I can click and collect it in Oxford street in person.

Why cant Harrods just Click and collect or ship stuff to pick up points like any normal retailer

pinkchampagne1 · 06/09/2026 06:56

@clary I haven’t forgotten about you. We have a lot going on at the moment as FIL is in hospital at the end of life. I also have a pelvic scan later for gynae issues, but if you PM me your address I will get the curlers sent out to you as soon as I can.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/09/2026 07:13

SoloCat · 05/09/2026 20:41

I’ve had the Christopher Robin scrub (had to check that name whilst typing as all I thought about was Winnie the Pooh, and that can’t be right)
I find it does strip your hair completely, last time I did it I looked like Worzel (showing my age) afterwards. I think it’s really good if your hair isn’t over processed, feels really fresh and clean, but definitely don’t skip the conditioner.

Hehe. It always makes me think of Winnie the Pooh too, but it's Christophe not Christopher.

I was having fomo about the salt scrub, but you've helped me to not succumb, as my hair is a bit over coloured so I would also probably look like Worzel Gummidge too!

TheSunIsAlwaysThere · 06/09/2026 07:51

I'm interested that people look at the contents before deciding. I like the surprise but I can see the sense in looking first.

I used to get M&S or Holland & Barrett's, one fun year I got both but then they went up and I moved house, plus had so much stuff. I didn't bother last year and I've just looked at H&B and it's Β£60 so not sure what to do.

I am going to see if M&S is up and also remembered Boots. Hair and skin care is best for me. I do need new make up as my daughter says my eye shadow is too dark and I looked like I was gong to a funeral, but I've no idea what colours I should wear instead!

mrspk · 06/09/2026 08:35

After much deliberation and spreadsheet analysis I've ordered Harrods. Ordered yesterday and it's being delivered this morning. Glad I didn't pre-order, how are they not giving pre-orders priority. Fingers crossed now that it isn't reduced.

Oh @pinkchampagne1 that's so lovely of you. I will PM now. So sorry that you are having such a tough time. Hopefully your med issues will be resolved soon. Flowers

Elle arrived yesterday, DH has hidden it from me as it’s a Christmas present. I don’t know whether I should get him to look through it and check the contents. I’m very tempted to get Harrods now,. Trying to hold out and have told myself if it’s still available next month maybe I’ll get it then. Sort of hoping it sales out before also hope it doesn’t πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I’ve opened Selfridges and Yepoda already and have itchy fingers for something else to open.

Addictedtobeauty · 06/09/2026 09:07

@pinkchampagne1 sorry to hear you are dealing with so much at the moment. I hope your scan brings positive news. End of life care is so sad and difficult for everyone. I hope your FiL has the best experience possible.

@pinkchampagne1 I'm so sorry to read this 🩷 I know how incredibly difficult this stage is, having been through it with my husband's mum. You know it's coming, but you don't want it to, and somehow knowing it's inevitable doesn't make it any easier when the time comes. It's such a heartbreaking time, especially when you're trying to support the people you love whilst dealing with all the emotions yourself.

It sounds like you've got so much going on at the moment, especially with your scan as well. I really hope that goes okay today and that you get some answers. Thinking of you and your family and sending you lots of love 😘 xx

I think that the M&S calendar is Β£75 this year! Someone correct me if I’m wrong. However I believe there is no minimum spend on other items like there has been in previous years. I don’t blame them for doing this based on the number of posts in previous years from people buying the calendar at the cheaper price and then returning the other items they’d bought…

I wouldn’t buy beauty calendars without checking contents first, personally. I had the Liberty advent calendar last year and was thrilled with it because I’d checked contents and knew I’d be happy with it. It didn’t spoil anything because three months later I’d forgotten what was in it! However, the number of people who complained about the contents (mainly the number of perfumes) on the opening thread last year was unbelievable - and created a downer for those of us enjoying it - so I’d recommend checking contents first!

This is how feel too about everyone who has their cult beauty advent calendar after I ordered at 7:39am on release day. Absolutely over the moon for them all, sooooo happy for them πŸ™„πŸ€£

My dreadful memory is a blessing at this time of year! I thoroughly check and recheck and consider and hmm and think and mull and choose and then completely forget what is in the calendar by December πŸ˜‚. In fact, there is often the danger that I have even forgotten what calendars I have ordered!!

When I was young I had a good memory and checking the contents would have spoiled the surprise, but BACs either didn't exist or weren't on my radar then. These days my memory is such that if I check the list of contents before ordering and even if I get them all out to check for missing/damaged items when they arrive in September, by the time December comes around, I will have forgotten them and it's still a lovely surprise.

To be honest, I have quite a good memory and can remember the orders of multiple calendars, even those that I haven't bought. I still remember the order of the Harrods fragrance calendar from last year 🀣 sometimes it's good as it helps me get out of bed when I'm so excited for a particular product 🀣 I'm like a big kid though, and just the thought of a present excites me. I'm not going to watch as many opening vids this year so I don't know the order as well for the calendars I have. I think the only thing that could spoil it for me is if I've not looked at the contents and I end up with a load of stuff that I won't use and then a red lippy on Christmas day. Talk about lead balloon 🀣

Wrong thread, oops. Have reported

ClutteredPalace · 06/09/2026 09:41

I loathe suprises and also love anticipation so I open my calendars slightly differently to most people. Apart from checking unboxings in the run up to December, I also check the contents the night before just so I know what I'm getting the next day. Any earlier than the night before and I'll forget whats in there again. I also need to be very careful of my stash and check it frequently as if I can't see something, I completely forget about it. (I'm AuDHD though so that no doubt plays a part)

I would only like the surprise if it was one bought for me by someone else and gifted 1st Dec. Don't see this ever happening.

When I'm spending my own money on a calendar I need to know that I want a decent proportion of what's in it.

Tbh I think for me advents are just giant beauty edits. I quite enjoy having something to open through December but the really fun part I enjoy most is these threads, waiting for releases, hunting down information and spoilers and then debating endlessly about what I'm going to get.

After getting Harrods last year for the first time I did also really like trying the stupidly expensive face products over a few months so I'm glad after much dithering I did go for Harrods BAC again.

M&S is Β£75 this year and the Boots is Β£70 skincare and Β£150 luxe. I think there is a No7 one currently at half price Β£65. Ive looked at the H&B contents and think its amazing value for Β£60 and would really suit you if you're looking for skincare. Id move fast though as it sold out really quickly last year. It would probably be best buying an eye shadow separately instead of relying that one in an advent might suit. Would you go into a store for advice? Or you could upload a photo to chatgpt and ask for recommendations. Ive done this really successfully before. If youre not confident applying shadow the cremes and eyeshadow sticks are brilliant. I like bobbi brown or rare beauty. Elf and Essence are cheap but surprisingly good quality if you want to experiment.
