I haven't tried the lipstick yet but the case is beautiful. I was a bit impulsive buying Harrods but I'm not actually regretting it now it's here.

Hi, I am a long time lurker of Style and Beauty and have become absolutely obsessed with following the advent calendar threads, so thought I should probably speak up and introduce myself.

So far I have bought the Liberty calendar and have Harrods BAC on pre-order (but apparently won’t arrive for weeks?). I am trying to resist buying any others as I know I definitely don’t need them.

I am planning to sell a few things on Vinted and combine the calendars into one super calendar and then give anything else spare away as gifts.
I will think I will be selling quite a lot of the perfume, as otherwise I have far more than I can ever wear. Will also be selling the hairspray and some of the makeup from the Harrods BAC.

My HFAC came an hour ago and I am so pleased with it. I can't remember who posted that it was available but I'm grateful. I had it in my basket last year but I was in two minds and it sold out. This year as soon as it was posted I bought it. Now just waiting for my Harrods BAC which I hope comes before we go away for my birthday. I'm just waiting for Sephora to be released so I can buy it.

Hi @Reb642 and welcome. I don't understand the issue with the BAC pre orders. I bought one on Thu and it arrived today. It's pretty bad of Harrods to make pre orders wait so long.

Mine was on preorder and arrived a few days ago so it’s all a bit odd. The Harrods Bad and hair and body one both arrived separately.

Oh goodness - I've just tried the Cult Beauty sample of Lola at Coat Check and I love it! Does that mean I should consider the Selfridges calendar now? Does anyone know if it's in any other calendars? And if anyone is planning to sell theirs from the Selfridges calendar do PM me!

Me and @CorneliaStreet have just been discussing the same thing on the Scent Thread. My CB samples arrived today and I'm now struggling not to buy Selfridges. 😂

I'm between Harrods and Liberty- any thoughts?? I had Liberty last year though and think some brands are the same this year?

My CB BACs both arrived today, and my fragrance samples order. I have been tripping over a huge pile today of those plus my Harrods BAC/FACs plus an order from LF and an order from Fairy 😅

I’ve been busy sorting through some things to make some space, but unearthed more beauty stashes 🙈

Luckily I have already primed DF to let me store some calendars at their house for a while, with the promise that if he likes any of the fragrances he can have his pick 😁😇

Also I completely opened my Rituals calendar from last year so that I can pop the stuff in the bathroom, etc, and get rid of anything I don’t want (a single exfoliating glove - really?! 😅)
I planned to do the same with Lumene but when I opened the box I thought it was really nice! (Yes, it’s been sat in its unopened cardboard box since January so this is the first time I’ve seen it 🙈😅) So I’ve decided that I’m going to open each day of it throughout next month as it’ll be nice to display it for a while over winter 🙂

I was down to the choice of Elle (thanks to this board, never considered before), Harrods and F&M, so asked AI to compare. I wanted more skincare than makeup or fragrance and thought this was an interesting analysis. Went with Elle in the end, got it for £187 with the previously posted link, may spend the “change” from not buying the more expensive ones on a few treats to Frankenstein mine!

@BakeOffRewatch Ah thank you, I will have a go at returning my other BAC then. I actually thought I could just cancel the order as it looked as though it was only the discounted one that had been shipped, but I wanted to wait until that one definitely arrived, then they both turned up. Typical.

@IlovePond Re the CR scalp scrub, etc, that brand is actually owned by THG. I noticed on the tub when I used it earlier in the week. It did make me go off it a bit after my CB debacle earlier this year, but I’m glad I tried it.

@OvaHere @CinderellaParker my Lola at Coat Check is on Vinted.

Haven’t yet received my Harrods BAC, but justified the spend by committing to sell any product (from Harrods and Liberty) on Vinted that doesn’t excite me. This may not be a wise decision as everything seems to drop in price once it appears in an advent but can’t wait anyway, especially looking forward to Harrods as its new to me!

My John Lewis BAC arrived today, my first ever (excluding the chocolate ones I had as a child!). I’m supposed to wait til the 1st Dec am I? I swear I can hear it whispering open me open me 😂

Don’t you find it too stripping for coloured hair?

The secret to this is buying a few. One for now, one for Oct, Nov etc. Then there's JAdvent of course. 😂

I strongly suggest you don't do this though. We are a bad influence here.

Could I be sent the list of eBay/Vinted sellers too, please? I’ve been a lurker in these threads for a couple of years (living vicariously through the opening threads each December), but never had a BAC/FAC as I feel I’ve got too much stuff as it is.

But I quite fancy buying random beauty and perfume bits from each and every calendar, so resell market it is for me 😬

I’ve just gone to look at the scalp scrub yous are all talking about and noticed there is a blue lid one and a green lid one that says it’s a cream? What one are you all using?

I have not received either if the Harrods ones yet. But FAC was dispatched today. I pre-ordered the BAC (which apparently for Harrods it means: join the back of the queue please! Haha.) It is scheduled to ne dispatched from the 10th onwards. Hope you receive the FAC soon, but perhaps email them if still not dispatched on Monday.
