@Thelifeofawife i can confirm I have never returned an advent calendar in my life. Simply not an option 🤣.
I did miss the CB code by buying as soon as it was released. But I was at work, first day of new job, using my phone (not allowed on school) and just had to get it ordered as its DDs advent and I thought the special edition would sell out fast.

It’s the same price as Liberty. Liberty is €395.

Wow, you pay a premium for Lbty in Ireland! €395 is about £340 at today’s exchange.
Liberty in the UK is £285 (or £260 for BD members). Vogue is £355.

Been trying avoid this thread as I’m trying not to succumb to a calendar this year as I (and my ChatGPT mate) am on a mission to use up my stash. But I had a quick look yesterday and I have to say I am liking the Brown Thomas one. And I’m going to Dublin at the end of October….

ChatGPT acknowledges that out of the calendar details I have shown it that it would be quite good. But that I would still be “feeding the queue”.

It does understand my emotional connection to the BT one though as I’m from Dublin and loved BT’s Christmas windows years ago.

Decisions decisions! I’m not really a perfume person so a lot of the perfumes would be wasted on me.

I was lucky enough to have the Brown Thomas one last year and this years looks even better but I can’t spend €400 as I’ve recently separated from my husband and money is tight .

Do have relatives/friends there you can order and send it to? It releases at the beginning of Oct so I'm assuming it will sell out quickly due to it being very good and people in Ireland not being able to get a lot of the UK ones.

@OvaHere - yes I can send it to one of my sisters. I really really don’t need it though. Sensible head is wanting to run my stash down and be able to buy Harrods or BT next year guilt free. And my skin is quite sensitive so am on a mission to find things that suit me and ChatGPT already pointed out a few products it wouldn’t recommend for my skin.

I know. It’s insane. I refuse to pay if the company is gouging like that.

I got the HFAC for €285. A straight conversion from £225 would be about €265 so I felt a €20 difference to account for currency fluctuations, VAT/import duties etc was fair.

I’m NI and happy to do it for you if it makes it any easier when your researching it x

I'lll refrain from commenting further. I clearly have not had a sensible head this weekend so am in no position to advise. I know what I'd do with a sister in Ireland though.😂

@OvaHere - I have three sisters in Ireland and am sometimes just tempted to bang their heads together! 😂 But yes they will be useful if I decide to order one.

Catching up on the thread again - I also like the look of Brown Thomas and other than that only really interested in Selfridges FAC and Vogue. I'm still working on reducing the stash of products I have so both are good in that respect (fragrance is a separate category imo) Annoyingly I'm working in Ireland until the 18th of september, not quite long enough to be everyone's BT mule!

I watched MissBoux’s unboxing of Selfridges a/c last night and realised that I actually really like it, after initially dismissing it.

I put it in my basket at some ridiculous hour this morning, but managed to restrain myself.

I do NOT need umpteen more lip products, (no matter how pretty!) Please help me to stay strong 😹

My LF FAC has still not moved off processing. I suspect it will be cancelled. I ordered at 7.52am and it was still in stock a while after I ordered it. If they’re cancelling, I wish they’d hurry up- those funds could be diverted to Dublin!

One thing I like about the Harrods BAC is that the tools are bundled with things you'll use them with. I don't know how true it is of most calendars as the only other one I had with tools, they were both in the same drawer. Same with Selfridges and the nail file, it feels like an added extra rather than a feature.

Am I going mad or did someone say they got blue light discount at H beauty on an advent calendar? If so, which branch as there is no mention of it online (well, there’s a ‘we don’t do it’ mention) but I’d quite like to buy one as a present and some money off would swing it.

I was wondering that too @Addictedtobeauty - I went straight to the BL and Harrods websites to check it out, but no 😿
