Some birkenstock London shoes. I've never owned more comfortable shoes in my life.

DailyMaui · 30/08/2026 22:33

I got an absolute bargain "new with tags" gold and black fringe River Island leather bag from Vinted for £8. It will be my winter work bag as I can fit a laptop etc in there with ease. (I don't work in a conservative industry so it works for me).

I also bought some platform Monsoon silver sandals which I love as they are so comfortable, a unicorn for me in heeled shoes. I'll buy some closed-toe ones for party times in Winter. I'd love a dark green suede pair.

Two bottles of imho the best facial tanner ever - Bondi Sands Pure Self Tanning Mist. I've tried so many over the years and this is the best for even application, good colour and fades without splotching.

Two Miller Harris perfumes: "Poirier D'Un Soir" (a boozy pear, perfect for Autumn) and the discontinued "Lost In The City" which has a gorgeous tangy rhubarb note which I love for summer. I finished my Arkive "No One Elsie" perfume which was the only rhubarb one I own so I thought I'd try this.

I have also just bought another bottle of Tan Luxe The Gradual which is the best gradual tan ever for the body. And in the same order from Cult Beauty, I got five perfume samples for a tenner with a £10 voucher towards a full bottle: Kayali "Freedom Musk Santal," Huda Beauty "Easy Bake Intense," Commodity "Milk Orchid," Vyrao "Free" and Vyrao "The Sixth." I'm a perfume addict so I cannot wait to try them all out.

Froya face balms. They only sell online so I had no tester to try. It's aimed at more mature skin (that's me). Not water based, it's an unusual texture. The pots are tiny, but you only need a small amount. I genuinely can't believe how soft my skin is.

I'm having a Levis resurgence.

It started with a denim shirt that I bought, loved and wore a lot, then I bought 501 90s and mom jeans which fit so well and look great with a vest or tshirt.

I've just bought a trucker jacket.

(I'm not wearing them at the same time)

I think you should!

A few things I’ve bought recently that I’m genuinely loving are a decent oversized cardigan, some small gold hoop earrings and a new cream blush. The cardigan has basically lived on me since I bought it, the hoops go with everything, and I’m finding myself reaching for the blush almost every day because it gives a nice bit of colour without looking too made up. Nothing particularly exciting, but those are the purchases that have actually earned their place rather than just sitting in the wardrobe or makeup bag.

Wacoal Halo lace bra, well I actually bought four identical ones half price in the sale. Super comfy, good shape, cool in the heatwaves.

Moo Goo shampoo. Seems to have cured a patch of something on my scalp that Nizoral, coal tar, T-Gel etc couldn’t get rid of, plus it’s got a lovely vanilla scent and comes in an excellent pump bottle.

I also bought some Levi’s ribcage jeans but have not worn them yet!

@SisterTeatime have you tried your jeans yet?

I’m long-waisted and I’m going to the Levi’s shop to try on…

I’ve recently bought..,

A pale beige/oatmeal cropped cardigan from Primark. They have it in purple too but the shade is slightly wrong for what I want. It’s 10% wool so a little itchy but not impossibly so.

A chicken brick - I have wanted one for years! The first one arrived broken, second has arrived intact. I’m very excited about it, it’s just great!

A vintage Dorothy Perkins dress with a lemon print. I had this print years ago in a different style dress, but the bodice never fitted so I removed it and made a skirt instead. Now I want to reunite the two pieces. Can I find the bodice? No. No I cannot. So I’ve bought another version of the dress and am going to alter it. It’s around 18 years old! And I’m very pleased it was still knocking about!

A gift set of skincare from Oh My Cream! (Terrible name!) - they’ve not added the free gift which is annoying. But I’m not alone in that. So their customer service will be red hot tomorrow as we all phone/email to ask where it is…

@TragicMuse can you post a snip of that print? Sounds lovely!!

PloddingAlong21 · 31/08/2026 13:52

A jumper from ‘Alo’. I hadn’t heard of the brand until a colleague told me it’s a thing. Anyway, was in the US and popped into their store and it’s the comfiest jumper ever. Love it. My eyes popped out at the price but I bought it anyway. Glad I did. No regrets.

An insulated beach bag from dock & bay for holidays to keep drinks cool. Really well made

@GameOfJonesjust bought this bra too and I’m obsessed with it. Bought a few more of their wireless bras and I love them. Only wear wires if going into the office now lol 😄

Rocknrollstar · 31/08/2026 14:19

A new Apple Watch.

Two charity shop finds.

£3 for a pair of wife leg trousers
£1.50 for a jumpsuit.

I absolutely love both of them!

Well I’ve just bought a pair of Levi’s cinch jeans in a gorgeous deep indigo.

And some lovely pleated trousers and a little top from M&S. Both dark aubergine purple. The best of colours!

Oh, I forgot Laneige lip balm - total game changer for dry lips. Comes in lots of flavours, I got vanilla.

I've just bought this on you recommendation .

I'm coming for you if it's crap as it's the most I've ever spent on a lip balm ! 😂

I hope you love it too. And I agree as I have never paid so much either, but it’s been amazing for my dry lips!

Squirrelsnut · 31/08/2026 16:37

I bought glycerin and rosewater mix, put it in a spray bottle and spritz my face after washing at night. I wake up with dewy, plump skin (at 56).
It's cheap as chips!

I bought some carrot leg jeans from M&S and I love them. Can’t get on with barrel legs at all but these seem to suit me.

SocksAndTheCity · 31/08/2026 19:16

I bought some Essie No To Do nail polish yesterday which is a dark espresso colour and my toenails look amazing. Now I feel like it's properly autumn ☺️

I am close to your age and I’m thinking of having a go. Where did you buy it from? If you don’t mind me asking.

I had that dress too. The bodice was never right but the print was lovely.

I originally had the button-front version from the previous year but I can get what I want with this one and a sewing machine!
